Vardinhio Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 this guy on the radio thinks the fans should start looking for better officials....is he insane? does he have a medical condition? answers on a postcard.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 I dont get it. Why do people come on here and cry like babies when someone makes a comment about geting rid of Pearson! Pearson is the manager of our team. We will be here long after hes gone, whether he leaves, is sacked or whatever! Hes just a person. And no person is bigger than the club! What I dont get is, what DO we stand to lose if we sack him? With ten games to go, getting a new manager in MIGHT be the kick up the arse these players need. Together with that and the freshness it brings it MIGHT be what we need to drag us all the way to the playoffs! My point is, results and performances cannot really get any worse than they are now. Its alright saying chopping and changing wont do any good, but if we dont go up this season, its highly likely Pearson will be sacked anyway after fluffing up his lines abysmally when we were 2nd not even a month ago! And with it looking week by week that our chances are becoming slimmer and slimmer and with no sight as to where the next result never mind performance is coming from, why not sack him? Id love someone to reply to this constructively, rather than go "We LUVS PearSON, get out and SUPPORT forest or COV!"
MattyFromLE Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Got to go now. This is ****ing awful He has no idea how to get us out of this run! Maybe so, but a new manager who will know less about our team isn't going to have much more of a chance.
Steven Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Yes, possible, but not definite because of Billy Davies doing it! Not a pop at you, just generally this example being used to prove that Pearson should be sacked... All true again. However things need to change, even if that means Pearson becoming bolder, cleverer and more creative in his decision making processes.

As it is, we're still in the play-offs. Things can't get much worse than this current run, but we could easily extend that bad run by replacing him with someone shitter, or with having an interim manager for a few games. It's not loyalty to Pearson, it's belief that he can turn it around, and belief that it's actually quite risky to try and replace him now. Honestly, confidence has been drained from me and I struggle to see us getting promoted. But if we sack him now i think we can forget it completely.

I understand what you mean and always appreciate a good well thought out post I just think most people who are calling for his head , have no patience, but if you get somebody else in, it is even more waiting. Waiting for new staff, new players, in goings , out goings, new systems etc etc. I don't mind a good argument but its the contradicting that gets me.- on par with another thread about the need for this midfield 'destroyer' and claiming Pearson is tactically inept...AND YET...this tactically inept manager has given us one of the meanest defences in the football league, without this destroyer. Personally, ill be so annoyed if he was sacked.
Bilbo Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Just to combat the doom mongerers, Pearson must stay unless you want to end the season now and go through another merry go round of players, with no guarantee of ending up in a better position than we are in now. WE ARE 5TH! The best position we have been in for years, so shut the fook up.

What I dont get is, what DO we stand to lose if we sack him? What do we lose? 1 - a manager who could still turn this round and get us finishing in the playoffs/promoted 2 - a manager who has many times this season been in charge of a team that has looked awesome 3 - a manager that is more than accomplished at buying players and creating a squad under a tight-ish budget, creating resale ability and increasing the value of the squad - i.e EXACTLY what we need in the coming couple of seasons given the current finances of the club and FFP 4 - Steve Walsh (Scout) 5 - Continuity - and the ability to build on what has been a good season and potentially be the team strongly challenging for top two next season So yh not much...
Simmo86 Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Maybe so, but a new manager who will know less about our team isn't going to have much more of a chance. New manager doesn't need to know about our players. He just needs a bit of tactical nous and motivation skills to get us performing again! He'll soon have a idea of which players are decent and which aren't. ****ing clueless!

cc_star Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 I think beens as he's just watched/ listened to 70 shit minutes of the same crap that's been dished up for a good while now, he's allowed to make a comment. He's clearly not deluded like a lot of you. It shows the mentality of a fair few of you that if we had scored in the last 5 minutes or even gone on to win it everything would have been rosy for you! Look at what's right in front of you. He will never in a million years get us up!!! There was best part of half an hour left. Reading my reply after the actual result is a different context to when I made it. No, an equaliser wouldn't have been rosy for me. I think we really needed a win today, failing getting a win... we at least needed a huge performance from the lads just to show they're capable of change - we got neither. It's dreadful The sense of fun/adventure that lead to some of the best attacking football I've seen has gone, negativity that many on here & at the ground has won & in that vein it's practically an impossible task to turn it around.
Essington blue Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 If he gets sacked I'm gonna be fuming. How can they base the sacking on 8 games, and ignore the other 30 odd games in the season when we have been pretty good. Not ignoring the other 30 I'm afraid mate. Because we are 5th, you and others are getting confused into thinking we are better than what we are. This league is crap mate, make no mistake. For the record we lost 4 out of 5 really early in the season. We won 1 from 6 at the end of October into early November & won 2 out of 6 in December. That lot is within your 30 so called good games.

Personally, ill be so annoyed if he was sacked. Thats the kind of response I was looking for Just another quick point to add to that though. I think that the players here though ARE good enough. They got us to second, so the quality is there. It just seems that the guidance isn't. If it was a case of new manager and then that new manager overhauling the team then i'd agree, its dangerous and a potentially expensive gamble to make. But this team IS good enough. We've seen the same players this season absolutely destroy teams like we've never seen before so I believe, shy of a few backup players for weaker areas, our team is good enough. I dunno, I just cant see past the fact that Nigel is too set in his ways, too stubborn, and his playing players to fit in the starting 11 regardless of whether its a players preferred position, is contributing to the loss of form so many of our players are suffering from.
Cruss5 Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 I don't like Pearson but sacking him now is the biggest mistake we could make. We have 2 very good months and the rest of the season has been a bit medicore. Lets get behind the team and make this a final push for the playoffs. We are playing teams around us now so we need to start getting results. Personally i would like to see some of the youngster given a bit of a run out in games instead of having wellens and gallagher on the bench.
Bilbo Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Is that the best you can do... The best I can do whilst my sister opens her birthday presents and avoiding a bollocking from my mrs for being on 'that stupid foxestalk'. Care to prove me wrong? Our position in the league is good, so what more do you want? Winning all the time? Support Man U.

He'll soon have a idea of which players are decent and which aren't. ****ing clueless! How do you know that? Think of all the managers we've had since O'Neill. How many of them have had a good grasp of team selection and which players are good and which are bad? Very, very few - so what makes you say the next one will know?
cc_star Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 We needed a win today, either a crappy but confidence boosting in off somebody's arse kinda win Failing that a huge attacking display giving us a sign we are capable of turning it around. The pros are in the team, they're young and will grows as individuals to become better players and with the team will improve, also that change rarely brings anything but transition and we can't afford transition either this season with the debt or next with FFP limits. The 'cons' are many given the run... but runs change & form is temporary... we've shown over the majority of games we have class. We need to see it though
He's not bald Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Get rid end of, don't need him here until the end of the season wont make any difference!
