bald reynard Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 The Mercury did post a request on their website for fans to indicate who they want as City's "New Manager" (I saw it at 10.45 am via the Newsnow feed). That story / page is no longer available ! Do they know something not yet public and have had to pull it for now - or I have just started a conspiracy theory !?
Leicesterpool Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Very interesting, i had a weird dream last night that the owners announced they were going to sell the club!

Update - sorry, I've just been able to access this story directly from the Mercury website. They claim they're just finding out fans views IF NP goes - but still !!

I can't imagine that running an article on such an issue would be good for the \merc's relationship with the club.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the headline and thought I'd missed something. Wonder if they've been hacked?Like most disgruntled fans, I find myself trawling hourly through snippets and posts for any news whatsoever regarding the managerial situation. My phone keyboard's now on it's way out. Bet someone's in for the high jump with this one - the content might be gone, but the headline won't go away!
SharpeFox Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 The story was created by one of the readers as a discussion post but clearly looked like an official story. It was pulled for obvious reasons.
Jace Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Has seenitall moved onto the Mercury website to voice his opinions then?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Very interesting, i had a weird dream last night that the owners announced they were going to sell the club! I've heard about your weird dreams . . . .
yorkie1999 Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 I bet ian stringer picks up on this and tries to stir the shit in his next pearson inteview..
Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 I bet ian stringer picks up on this and tries to stir the shit in his next pearson inteview.. Stringer is away for a couple of weeks as he is getting married at the weekend.
Dan Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 And they claim to be Leicester 'fans'. Top work from the Mercury adding more pressure just to sell more copies, they can fvck off.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Stringer is away for a couple of weeks as he is getting married at the weekend. Is he getting married to big Nige? . . . . .
Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Is he getting married to big Nige? . . . . . No but his missus is fit
Deucalion Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 The headline is still on Newsnow but the content isn't. This wildly reckless from the Mercury and I wouldn't blame the club for refusing to talk to them in future!
neiltheblue Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 It was a reader's comment on a message board 'LCFCMike' asking a stupid hypothetical question that LM took down in minutes, as with a lot of these comments it created a link on LM home page. No biggy to say the least.
Fox92 Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Interesting, yet pretty ridiculous considering they are supposed to have a good relationship with the club and City.
foxile5 Posted 21 March 2013 Posted 21 March 2013 Is anyone actually reading these posts? It was a users post that was taken down. The Mercury took down a users post. The headline was created by a user, not the Mercury, who took it down swiftly.

The headline was created by a user, not the Mercury, who took it down swiftly. All I saw was 'Who do you want as new manager' or some such on Newsnow and thought Pearson had been sacked. I clicked on it pretty quickly but there was nothing to see by that time. The headline is still on Newsnow. Surely the Mercury have some control over how their material is viewed online?
