Anyone been to it? It looks like it is from the 70's and the poor bloke in there often sits by himself looking depressed. If I had the money spare I'd buy a suit just to keep him going because I could be wrong but I doesn't look like he gets much business. Next to the pizza shop? I also feel really sorry for that guy, but the shop creeps me out a bit, and looks really dark and grubby too! No idea how he is in business!?

vandamman Posted 5 April 2013 Posted 5 April 2013 I get my suits from House of Fraser, good selection and quality, reasonably priced too. The only down side is they are probably not as 'trendy' as places like Next but depends what you're looking in a suit. I like a fitting suit but the ones in Next all seem too shiny! If you're after a casual but decent jacket to go with jeans or whatever, try TK Maxx or maybe Zara.

I think grey is definitely the colour to go for but does anyone have any preferences? I'm thin, 6 foot, I prefer slim fit as I just think it looks smarter so I'm guessing a darker one is going to make me look even thinner? What are the do's and don'ts?

You'll look like you've been dressed by your mrs who takes her inspiration from catalogues and crap itv daytime dramas. And talking of fashion why do all gok wans victims look like frumpy old women by the time he's finished with them. because they take their clothes off when they really , really shouldn't.

This is why a tailored suit is best, of course depending on how long you have the suit for you may need it taken in or out (tricky and expensive with bespoke). My bespoke suits are still miles ahead of anything you buy off the rack. depends on how often you will wear it though....simply not worth it unless used every week IMO. Humblebrag warning: My most expensive suit was made at Richard Anderson's.

Captain... Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 I'm 6 foot and quite slim, ie a bit of a lanky bastard so decent fitting blazers are not the easiest thing in the world to find. Now I'm not too sure wether to buy something off the shelf and then get it altered if needs be or be a flash bastard and go all out and get something tailored from the off. Obviously I don't want to be buying Asda/Primark brand stuff. I want something that'll work for formal occasions but can also be worn with jeans or whatever for more casual affairs if needs be. Modern professionals *cough* estate agents who give it the biggun *cough* of FT, talk to me. Fenwicks is generally decent in Leicester got a couple of off the peg suits from there, they will do alterations and generally seem to know what they are talking about. A decent shout if you don't want to spend a fortune.
