inckley fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 I understand that the buck stops with the manager results wise but to blame him ultimately for 5 seconds of madness from Nugent is quite clearly ridiculous. Then we're not too far from agreeing with each other.
NewburyFox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Middlesbrough's next three games are Brighton (H), Forest (H), Bolton (A). Probably can't rely on them given how bad they've been recently, but nevertheless, UTB!

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 No. What made him fook up is the way we play. NFP has created an ethos where hard work and effort are more highly regarded than anything else. Having had a poor first touch Nugent was required to put in the effort and redeem himself, it's what is required. On this occasion everything he did simply made things worse, horrible play by Nugent on this occasion but it is the way he is required to play. would have done much better, if after his poor first touch, he had simply left it to our defence to tidy up. Do you honestly believe that NP would have been upset with him had he twatted into the stands with a minute left?
He's not bald Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Just in from the pub, first thoughts...... Birmingham were woeful, missing several of their better players they were relegation fodder. And you know what, we were very nearly as bad....... We played our new 4-3-0-3 formation and it was laughable, every bit as bad as it sounds. Hoof from the back, three center forwards totally unsupported from midfield to chase and try and win the second ball, individually the did alright but as a team performance it is one of the worst of the season. I have no doubt that many will be saying we played quite well as we were actually in front for much of the game but then most fans do not have a clue anyway. Shame about Nugent's foul, no doubt he will be blamed for the result, but if we play such an unstructured game and rely on luck and thing falling for you has as been the case tonight, you have to live when they fall against you. Two decent corners and the move that put King through were the only occasions we threatened but with Birmingham just as bad, it was always going to come down to luck. One time it went for us, one time it did not....... Serves us right for not taking control of a game we should have won with some ease....... O yes that'll do
buzzy Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Fookin hilarious, up the tigers!!!!!!!! dullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll you are dull
Fox4ever76 Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Ok we will all be sad miserable old cnuts linke you then. The world is coming to an end. Thanks for pointing it our. You're so smart ok we will all be happy & optimistic no matter what just to please you..i just said everyone is entitled to their opinion its a forum so how the fcuk do you know im an optimist or pessimist? either way like i said everybody is entitled to their opinion dummy...no im not smart just a realist doh ðŸ˜
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Omg he and a lot of other's have defending him no matter what the argument! let me put this in another way, we have taken 8 points from a possible 42! defend that! C'mon boys and girls! 8 points from 42 is indefensible. Yes, we did well earlier in the season. It's a bloody good job we did! The current form is relegation stuff. I think the happy clappers really are looking daft. Sure, there were positives last night but the whole thing really has gone to shit. It's amazing that we can still make play-offs. 8 points from 42... Read it and try to suggest that that constitutes us 'having a good season'. I'm fed up with saying it now, the same faces ain't listening. If that makes me a 'bad supporter' then I don't give a Fook. I'm a City supporter, not a Nigel Pearson supporter. 8 points from 42... Worst winless run in 6years. Yeah that's ok isn't it. HOWEVER, as someone pointed out to me last night, there are very few viable alternatives to Nige at present. I do agree with this. Finally, I can't understand some of Pearson's selections. Where's Waggy for instance? He's better than Harry shitarse Kane. Why are strikers still playing out wide? And why is Kasper STILL kicking long and frequently giving the opposition the ball straight back? I thought Pearson was better than this and I just don't get it?

Babylon Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 We looked bloody awful most of the game and getting a lucky break with the OG only served to delay us making the changes that were needed. Since this bad run started Pearson has really looked utterly clueless in what we can do to solve it.

Guest ttfn Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 I am absolutely sick to death of all you fickle Leicester City fans, and I'm ashamed to say that you support the same club. I don't even know where to start with this post. Maybe the Nugent slating. David Nugent, plays in a blue shirt. When he was on his goal scoring streaks, I bet you all sucked him off, you were all there behind him because he was scoring, now he isn't scoring and has made ONE mistake tonight, which wasn't even a penalty, you're all slating him off and saying he's awful, you would of took him off before half time, grow up and stick behind him? At the end of the day, he's still in a blue Leicester City shirt and his heart is for the club! He plays week in week out, he gives it a shot, at least he wasn't like Beckford and was completely lazy! He moves doesn't he? He wins the ball doesn't he? He wins flick ons? He jumps? Nugent plays his heart out and gives it 100% so stick behind him! Next, fans leaving 5 minutes before the end? If you pay to go and watch your football team, if you're chanting "Loyal Supporters", SHOW IT. If we concede, don't boo, get behind the lads! Start singing more! Don't give up and walk away! If you're leaving 88 minutes into a game and the players see, their heads drop and think why are we even here?! Stick behind the boys! Chant and sing your hearts out! Also, don't boo. Why boo players in your team? So what if they're having a bad game, so what if they're not Cristiano Ronaldo/Lionel Messi typed players. This is the Championship for crying out loud. Possibly the most competitive league in the whole of the world. Does no body realise that? So what if we have threw points away, so what if we're getting a draw and we should be taking the 3 points? What would you rather have? 1 point or none at all? If you're going to call yourself a Leicester City fan, GET BEHIND THE BOYS! AND MOST OF ALL, GET BEHIND NIGEL PEARSON! He's our current manager, he's currently taking control, so what if we've had a slip up? Boo'ing and going mad at players isn't going to help. Grow up, get a pair, they're infront of 20000 fans+ a week, they're pressured, you know we're not going to win every game! We're Leicester City! We make everything difficult! That's how we do things! Get behind the boys! Play-off's are still on! Don't leave early, stay behind and get behind those 11 on the field! COME ON CITY! I'm sure this is well-intentioned but really it's just tub-thumping nonsense. As for some of the finer points... I am absolutely sick to death of all you fickle Leicester City fans, and I'm ashamed to say that you support the same club. I don't even know where to start with this post. Maybe the Nugent slating. David Nugent, plays in a blue shirt. When he was on his goal scoring streaks, I bet you all sucked him off, you were all there behind him because he was scoring Well, I can't imagine too many were literally sucking him off, but yes people celebrate and praise players when they are playing well. Given that is accepted as reasonable behaviour, is some criticism of poor performances really unwarranted? Nugent is paid to put the ball in the net, he's not doing it and hasn't been for months. And yet, on the back of the goodwill he's built up through 2 seasons of consistently diligent and profitable play, the fans have stayed with him throughout a very long barren run. Next, fans leaving 5 minutes before the end? This shows a completely disregard for the matchday experience of a lot of fans. Some people have kids who they want to get home to bed at a reasonable time so want to beat the traffic. I often (reluctantly) leave night games early because I live in London and the last train is at 10 o clock. Never mind the fact that I've travelled 100 miles to get to the game and am faced with being stuck 100 miles from home if I don't leave, the fact that I have left early doesn't make me a loyal supporter, apparently. If you're going to call yourself a Leicester City fan, GET BEHIND THE BOYS! Well I couldn't make it last night, but it sounded to me that the fans were behind the team throughout. So much so that when Birmingham scored their first equaliser, the cheers of the away fans were drowned out by "We love you". If that's not getting behind the team then I don't know what is. Frankly, given the run of "form" we're on and the "give a shit" attitude of some of the players they're lucky anybody turns up at all, let alone supports the team through thick and thin. What would you rather have? 1 point or none at all? So we should be grateful we just conceded the one late goal this week? Again. they're infront of 20000 fans+ a week, they're pressured, This is why they are paid what they are paid. The fact that there are 20,000 in the stadium every week is part of what allows them to be paid more than players who play for Rotherham. If they don't like it, I'm sure some League Two side will happily have them. you know we're not going to win every game! Well, it would be nice if we won any.
Daveaway Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Play offs gone, Bolton will win today against Bristol, and I feel they will turn us over, need to start planning for next season now.
Legend_in_blue Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Pearson lost us this game by allowing control of the game to Birmingham in the first 15 minutes of the second half. His substitutional change was again a reaction to the opposition scoring rather than one which could have helped regain control of the game much earlier than this. During these crucial 15 minutes of the second half, he stands by the touch line and lets things pass by with no signs of any clue as to what to do to counter the situation. Tactically inept. I have just about had enough of it. We have the players and we have the quality in the squad but his tactical ineptitude continues to plague our performances. I shudder to imagine what tactical systems would be employed should he ever manage in the premier league. It doesn't bear thinking about because if you can't tactically outplay the likes of Birmingham, Millwall. Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday etc at home then there is clearly a problem. Sort it out. Although with 4 games left and Pearson spouting "it's in our hands" even before the game, when clearly it wasn't since we're relying on results elsewhere, shows he's lost it.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Sort it out. Although with 4 games left and Pearson spouting "it's in our hands" even before the game, when clearly it wasn't since we're relying on results elsewhere, shows he's lost it. Not that it matters but it was in our hands prior to last night because of the fixtures against Bolton and Forest.
marbelladave Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Do you honestly believe that NP would have been upset with him had he twatted into the stands with a minute left? Of course not, but the way we play he was required to do something, he made bad decisions thats all..... Utter crud, have you ever even watched Nugent play for another team? He has always been the sort of player to put effort in and to chase balls down anywhere on the pitch. There is pressing and doing your bit for the team, then there is the kind of obsessive 'must work harder' defensive attitude that has, by and large, turned our attacking players into defensive scufflers. Strangely the more emphasis we place on defence the more goals we concede, when we were more attacking pre Xmas we conceded fewer goals than we have since, I find that damning. Given the emphasis on the defensive side of their game the effectiveness of our attacking players has decreased as the season has progressed, King's goals have dried up, as have Nugent's since the new year, Knockaert and Marshall can't even get a game and even De Laet seems restricted in how much he can get forward. To me it is straight forward, the more emphasis we put on defensive play the more our attacking play suffers, if you have another explanation for our woeful form I would love to hear it.......
theessexfox Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Someone got past Wood for their first goal, there is no way Wood should have been defending back there.
reynard Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 More than 12 hours on and I'm still trying to come to terms with quite possibly the most inept 10 seconds of professional football I have seen in over 40 years of watching Leicester. Frankly that was as bad if not worse than Kermo's penalty attempt. Pearson tried 4-3-3 again as he did at Brighton. Many on here have been asking for a change in formation for quite a while. Well it didn't look too great and once we went back to 4-4-2 we pretty much dominated the game. For probably the first time this season we had quality corner after quality corner and guess what we scored two goals from them. We didn't play badly last night in fact we played quite well and we created lots of chances. Schlupp scored but for most of the match looked anything but a striker. At least a couple of one on ones and he was too slow to take the opportunity or blasted wide. I'm not talking about how fast he can run but his speed of thought. He simply does not look like a natural goalscorer. Nugent 8 yards out a blast wide. Doesn't even make the keeper save it. King through on goal but puts in a tame effort and the keeper saved easily. Jus tot name a few. We are having to play players out of position because too many of our players are letting down the club and manager by their indifferent form. We don't appear to have any decent wide players. Marshall has been awful all season. I can't recall a single decent performance. Dyer simply looks what he always has done fast and pacey with no end product but probably the best option and Knockaert started the season really well but seems to have been found out quickly as he always tries to cut back inside onto his left foot. He remains the most likely to open up the opposition but only for about 5mins per match. I'd persevere with the three central midfielders but only because we have nothing better to offer. Drinkwater though is the weak link at the moment. To paraphrase a well know quote "you turn if you want to this midfielder is not for turning". I lost count last night of the number of times he failed to turn on the ball meaning he was always facing his own goal. It was like watching a slow version of Wellens. When we needed to move he ball quickly he just slowed it down by passing a few yards back wards.

Frankly that was as bad if not worse than Kermo's penalty attempt. Agree with this. Nugent has been great for us, but I really can't comprehend what the fvck happened there. If somebody in my Sunday League team had done that I'd be staggered, so for a really solid professional footballer to do it was incomprehensible.
AdamN Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 There's only so much Pearson can do. The fact of the matter is we created more than enough chances to win the game but failed to put them away. And ultimately, a moment of absolute idiocy has cost us two points. I'm not gonna sit here and defend Pearson if we have played shit, but I can't blame him for yesterday's result. For once I actually advocate a bit of finger pointing towards a player, simply because David Nugent is apparently a first rate dickhead.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Is the ref a scapegoat this game then yeah? We should of been about 4-0 up in the first half! Nugent needs to be dropped and if anyone disagrees, have a word with yourself yeah? Not good enough to go up and play offs for me, are over.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Oh and also don't fvcking blame pearson, was he the one that missed the one on ones, or ran backwards to goal and gave a penalty away? No. Players are to blame
