How can you say that? That is not always the case. Sometimes they are caused by one side just fvcking up, or one side just doing something insanely brilliant that no right minded person would blame on the defence (Alan Hansen is a different matter).

And sometimes, one person just fvcks up. Your theories make sense on a forum but they do not always hold water in real life situations. Life, and football, is not that structured.

If a side is 'just fvcking up' then is that not an error? I think you're restating my point that goals are brought about by error on one part, expertise on the other. In this case the error of Nugent, the expertise of the player who won the penalty and he who converted it. Surely we must agree on that?

So yes, football is that structured.

So is that Pearsons fault?

nugent oh no,all the fart arsing around our own goal seems to go on game after game, and how many goals have been scored with the boot ,very few maybe they all need lessonson how to thump the ball instead of trying to place it in the back of the net.t

I agree, but it would have still been enough for 3 points had something not happened...

But would only have been enough for one, or zero, had the referee failed to see a push in the build-up to our goal, and Schlupp not scored an excellent header? And what about their shocking own goal?

My point is, that the game's outcome up to the point of Nugent's error (just like the outcome of every other game) had also been dictated by poor refereeing decisions, shocking errors and, at the opposite end of the spectrum, moments of brilliance - just ones which had gone our way. Managers take the credit and the blame for these things, that's football.

So is that Pearsons fault?

Well, if all goals are scored by error vs. excellence, and all managers are judged on results, then yes - logically - Pearson has some degree of responsibility for this result.

Most of that is correct, however do you not think we created a LOT more chances than usual tonight?

I think we always create chances, though few of them are truly clear cut. King's first half chance was the only really clear cut one I saw from open play, the rest were half chances, the sort that a team, or a player in form might score but a team out of form will always fluff.

Two good corners to Keane were a plus, even though he only converted one of them.....

Given that you have a lot of interesting stuff to say it is a shame you have to be quite so patronising and dismissive.

Sorry, not personal but their are a fair number of the hard of thinking on here this evening. I only skimmed the thread but some of the comments are well........ :crylaugh:

This is a very important point too for those suggesting that Pearson's part in today's performance was nothing short of impeccable. We huffed and puffed a lot, but really weren't all that good.

We were dreadful, a few players but in some effort but really....... :dunno:

Our team selection and setup were desperate, the plot is well and truly lost. I actualy feel sorry for the players........

Fair point, agree to disagree I guess but when you're winning in the 87th minute you're doing fairly well, for me.

Are you Pearson's :pearson: rent boy or what?

And that is your response to showing me the errors of my thinking. Is there an emoticon that shows a spastic face on here?

I saw more clear cut chances tonight than in many previous games... King, Nugent (twice, or three), Schlupp, Keane, etc... and the other half-chances we had were still better chances than we often get. Just my opinion.

Defending Pearson for Nuge fu*king up tonight is being his rent boy?

Omg he and a lot of other's have defending him no matter what the argument! let me put this in another way, we have taken 8 points from a possible 42! defend that!

Very frustrating we have dropped 4 points we arguaby should of gained over these past two games, but truth be told we should of scored more goals prior to Nugent's f**k up.

Oh well on to Bolton now and a must win game again that we cannot afford to f**k up in otherwise I cannot see us making the playoffs.

This is the Birmingham post match thread, in which I am discussing the Birmingham match, where IMO the blame for the defeat does not lie at the feet of Pearson.

Tonight we were piss poor, at no point were we 'doing fairly well', just in front of a team actually worse than we were.

I have said this before, but if you have no viable game plan, rely on the hoof, and put sheer effort above all else then sometimes things will fall for you, sometimes against.

You have to live with it...... :dunno:

Perhaps if he hadn't spent the majority of the last 10 games he has played tripping over the ball then he would still be in the team...

@DanielEvison How can Pearson leave @Aknockaert and Ben Marshall on the bench? He's lost it!

Knockaert's just retweeted this. Oh dear.

My first reaction was to tweet him saying he's a fvcking twat for retweeting this, but his arse is so clean I'm worried about his brown nosing little 12 year olds coming after me.

Not being pretty poor for months would have helped his cause a lot more than bitching and moaning about being deservedly dropped will. Especially as the performance today was much better without him in the side than we have been with him for a good while.

Fair comment, a few decent corners made a difference and Schlupp's efforts created a degree of uncertainty, as did Dyer late on.

But overall we huffed and puffed and got the ball forward a lot, but little of what we did had any quality and the chances that were created needed players with more confidence than any we have to put them away...... :(

 I said to my dad at half time that we really seemed to lack quality. Was better second half, however.

Birmingham were very good tonight, they suprised me. Yeah we missed a few chances, but so did they. I don't think we were any better than them, I don't think we really deserved three points. Kasper made some excellent saves first half.

Not sure what Nugent was doing, should have just launced it. Bad touch and then he tried to make up for it. Silly really. But would I force him to come out and say sorry? No. It's an individual error (yet again) which, as in life, has cost someone.
