bald reynard Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 When opportunity knocks, could people post some City player ratings please ?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Kasper 6- Possibly could have done better for first RDL 5 Looked dodgy for me today Keane 6 Morgan 6 Doesn't organise defence well lately Konchesky 6 But best defender today Knocky 5 Poor. Should have come off after 60 mins King 8 James 6 Dyer 7 Worked very hard Wood 7 Schlupp 6 Np and subs/tactics - 3
Bert Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Kasper 5 - If you don't bother diving you won't save them. RDL 6 - accomplished performance. Konch 7 - Defended well against Zaha, tried attacking as much as he could. Morgan 7 - A standard Wes performance. Keane 8 - Came out on top against Murray, beast in the air. Dyer 6 - Didn't get into the game much, decent outlet. Knocky 7 - Looked back to his old self, caused them massive problems at times. James 7 - Got in their faces as much as he could. Composed. King 8 - Completed a lovely team goal with a composed finish. Like James, Composed. Wood 8 - Another top performance. Worked hard, took the Knocks and scored with a powerful finish. Schlupp 6 - Seemed reluctant to go for the 50/50's but utilised his pace well, gave them something to think about.

To see someone give our defenders 6-7-7-8 seems unbelievably generous.
Guest ttfn Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Schmeichel 6 - Couple of good stops. Couldn't do anything about the goals - no idea what Bert is talking about with him not diving for the second - he won't have seen it until very late. De Laet 5 - I think he's had a good season but he looks very shaky defensively at the moment. Morgan 7 - Good display. Good on the ball, competent if not at his best at the back. Keane 8 - Best defender on the pitch. Konchesky 6 - Better going forward than in defence but did an admirable job against Zaha. Knockaert 7 - Starting to look more like the Knockaert of old. Had an awful first 20, but was full of running and tricks thereafter. James 7 - Did the simple things well but rarely looked like doing more. King 8 - Same as James, except he scored. Scandalous decision from the referee to book him in the first half. Dyer 6 - Offered an outlet but rarely used it. Schlupp 6 - Agree word for word with Bert - not brave enough but gave them something to think about. Wood 8 - Very good, nicely taken goal. Should have had more.
eastendfox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Kasper 7 - Couple of vital saves, don't think he could have stopped the goals De Laet 7 - Don't get the criticism looked good to me Keane 6 - Thought he looked shaky at times and kept climbing on his man but got away with it by and large Morgan 7 - His defending was better than his shooting Konch 7 - Mostly decent against decent players Knocky 7 - More like it, very lively in the first half particularly, and always involved James 7 - Looked to still be tired from Tuesday but put in a good shift and works well with King King 8 - Always seemed to be around the ball, great finish Dyer 6 - Nothing wrong per se, but didn't see much of the ball, great assist for the first though Wood 7 - More like the Wood who bullied us when playing for Millwall, confident finish as well Schlupp 6 - The gave them something to think about line is right, but looks a bit lightweight as a central striker at the moment Subs: Nugent 6 Didn't do a lot but chased a bit Gallagher 1 - Only on in injury time wasted a cross Tactics and whatever fine, whatever the loonies might say Fans - noisy. Apparently not on the radio. FFS Palace - ok side, attacked well, think we just about handled Zaha though. Good game
Bert Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Did you really think Keane was an 8 and De Laet was 'accomplished'? To see someone give our defenders 6-7-7-8 seems unbelievably generous. Obviously, else I would've gave them other scores.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Schmeichel 6 - Made some good saves. De Laet 5 - Ok Morgan 6 - Looked better going forward than in defence Keane 6 - Looked nervous to start but did fine. Konchesky 6 - Kept Zaha quiet for the most part but was caught out of position just after we scored for a scare. Knockaert 6 - Gave the ball away a few times but did looked dangerous at time. James 7 - Not much wrong from him today. King 8 - See James.. took his goal well too. Dyer 6 - Not much wrong either but could have done a bit more i think. Schlupp 6 - Caused some problems but never really looked like scoring... even missed a sitter from about 8 yards out. Wood 8 - Took his goal well and was very strong up front. Nugent 4 - Ran around. Gallagher 2 - I remember one cross/shot that went over.
Dickov22 Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Kasper 5. Why didn't he dive for the first? De Laet 6. Did his job Keane 7. Won almost everything in the air Morgan 7. Standard Wes plus a comedy shot. Seemed to get forward quite a bit today Konch 7. Best he's played for a while, coped with everything thrown at him plus got forward well King 8.5. Passed well, took his goal well, involved in everything James 7. As above bar a goal. Good Dyer 6.5. Worked hard, not given as much time on the ball as against Bolton Knockaert 6.5 Much better from him, never gave up Wood 7.5. Got Fouled a lot, worked hard. His goal was very good Schlupp 6. Dangerous at times but should have done much better with the chance he blazed over. Touch poor, not aggressive enough
Father Ted Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Im surprised at Keanes ratings, both goals arguably his fault... Free kick given away for the first and then beaten in the air. The second goal, he was WAY too deep which let Palace flood forward and score. Not impressed.
Corky Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Schmeichel- 7 (Couldn't do a lot about the goals, made a couple of good saves) De Laet- 6 (Better) Morgan- 6 (Ok) Keane- 5 (Struggled in the air) Konchesky- 7 (Did well against Zaha all-in-all) Knockaert- 7 (Much improved today. Used the ball more and didn't try to do too much) James- 7 (Good display again) King- 8 (Very impressed. Composed and clever on the ball, lovely skill for his goal, never a booking on Zaha) Dyer- 6 (Drifted in and out) Wood- 7 (Held the ball up well, got involved, composure for his finish) Schlupp- 7 (Gave their defenders problems with pace, often got himself crowded out when looking to shoot)
SmithyFox12 Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Schmeichel - 7 De Laet - 6 Morgan - 7 - WHY DIDN'T HE SHOOT IN THE SECOND HALF?! Keane - 7.5 Konch - 6.5 Knockaert - 7 King - 9 James - 7.5 Dyer - 8 Wood - 8 Schlupp - 6
Foxy Bingo Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Schmeichel - 6 De Laet - 6 Morgan - 7 Keane - 6 Konchesky - 8 Best performance in a long long time Dyer - 7 King - 9 James - 8 Knocky - 7 Did some good stuff but goes to his head too quickly Wood - 8 Schlupp - 6
inckley fox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Obviously, else I would've gave them other scores. Well then, you're wrong.
inckley fox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Some of the ratings on here really are evidence for how little people know about football. Our defensive performance today was appalling. De Laet, who has been inconsistent all season, was truly awful for the third game running (and bear in mind that we have conceded six goals in three games since he was recalled), Morgan continued his run of mediocre form, Konchesky likewise and Keane has become the guy who all opposing sides direct their main striking threat towards on account of the fact that he looks plain weak. We have depended on the strength of Wes Morgan all season and at times it has taken superhuman performances from him to compensate for the shortcomings of De Laet, Konchesky and, on certain occasions, Whitbread. But don't be deluded - at the moment this is a very, very poor Leicester City defence.
Grewks Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 I'm fed up of comments saying Knockaert was good, with a large factor being his 'tricks'. He hasn't contributed nothing of note for a while and should be sitting on the bench with nuge. He needs to pick his game up like Schlupp, wood, james and king have done over the past few weeks.
Leicester Lass Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Schmeichel 6 Irritating when he just watches the ball drop into the net. At least make an effort with them. De Laet 5 Really poor. Got caught out a number of times. Morgan 6 Just very average. Should have done better a couple of times in attacking positions too. Keane 6 Silly free kick to give away for their first. Struggled a bit. Konchesky 7 Actually thought he did very well against Zaha. Was the best of the defenders for me. He was much better in possession than in recent games too. Knockaert 6 Lots of trickery but ultimately got us nowhere. I think about 5 of our shots on target were tame efforts from him that anyone in the ground would have been able to save. King 8 Best player on the park. Great composure and finish for the goal. James 7 He and King were a good unit. Worked tirelessly again. Dyer 6 Really not sure where a lot of his high ratings have come from, personally thought he was ineffective for large parts of the game. Wood 7 Another good shift from him. Finished his goal well too. Schlupp 6 His close control is so poor. Didn't have a huge influence on the game in all honesty.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Some of the ratings on here really are evidence for how little people know about football. What a spectacularly cvntish thing to say. Everybody on here watches a lot of football. If you disagree then fine, say so, but take your patronising rubbish elsewhere.
Dickov22 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Keane had a very good game. Maybe sometimes we should appreciate that a team might just score a decent goal against us, rather than looking to blame one of our players. It's debatable whether it was even a free kick for the first, and their second was a good goal. He's going to be a great player. Hope he signs for us, but I think that's wishful thinking.
maynefox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Kasper 7 De Laet 5 Morgan 7 Keane 7 Konchesky 7 Knockaert 6 King 7 James 7 Dyer 6 Wood 7 Schlupp 6 Nugent 5 Gally 5 Kane 10
acooling08 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Kasper - 5 - Made no effort for the first Palace goal, no chance with the 2nd. De Laet - 5 - Meh Morgan - 7 - Standard. Keane - 5 - He is beaten in the air too much, becoming a weak link for me. Konch - 6 - Decent defensively and going forward. Dyer - 5 - Never really in the game. James - 7.5 - Continues to be a key player for us. King - 8 - Another MOTM performance. He was everywhere today, and very well taken goal. Knockaert - 5 - Fed up with him. Not a patch on the 2012 Knockaert. Wood - 7.5 - Good performances continue, held the ball up well and a great goal. Schlupp - 5 - Never really involved, and pulled out of 50/50s. Overall we looked fairly dangerous going forward, but we looked so frail at the back, especially from corners/free kicks.
danfox76 Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Did you really think Keane was an 8 and De Laet was 'accomplished'? To see someone give our defenders 6-7-7-8 seems unbelievably generous. Agreed keane was targeted a little and couldn't cope.. gave away numerous free kicks in dangerous areas.
inckley fox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 What a spectacularly cvntish thing to say. Everybody on here watches a lot of football. If you disagree then fine, say so, but take your patronising rubbish elsewhere. You've obviously missed the bit, after every match, where everyone on here devotes their time to tirelessly telling everyone else that they know nothing about football. I suspect you get a tough time of it at games if you call someone a c**t every time you're told that you haven't got a clue what you're on about which, let's be frank, isn't the nastiest thing you've ever heard. Perhaps on a strictly over-60s only knitting forum it would be, but this is football forum. Presumably we're used to just a little bluntness. And let's be clear - because I can see you're the sensitive type - some people on here clearly do know their stuff. And then some people on here think that Michael Keane was worth an 8 and our defence were pretty damn decent yesterday. If my assertion that, no, a defence which has conceded two goals in each of the last three games is not playing well at the moment is, in your book, 'rubbish' then you really don't know anything about football.
