Aus Fox Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Jumped from $240m to $1.6bn in a year... WOW. Either his duty free business is doing very well or something very shady is going on I don't think they included Conrad Logan in the assets last year... That would explain it, wouldn't it?
Spiers82 Posted 13 July 2013 Author Posted 13 July 2013 What are the names of the other investors? Does anybody know
Danno Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 What do they own apart from Kingpower? I know the Pullman hotel and the Army United FC team?
MooseBreath Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 I guess they own quite a lot of land. Not much competition in a country where foreigners aren't allowed to buy land, so if they snapped up a load of land on the cheap around the Asian crash in the late 90s, then the subsequent and continuing boom will have increased their wealth massively. They also own the entire duty free shopping centres, not just the shops with the King Power branding. They are phooking loaded, but can't do much to help us now FFP is in place.
The Doctor Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 billion what? Penny chews. What the **** do you think? What currency have forbes always ****ing quoted wealth in?
svensson Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Penny chews. What the **** do you think? What currency have forbes always ****ing quoted wealth in? Harsh...
wight88 Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Mate of mine was talking to the cov owners and they told him they have pots of cash. Don't know what the sky blue boys are getting all worked up about.
Guest Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 we have got to get out of this fookin league,. If it's the last thing we ever dooooooo!
The Doctor Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Mate of mine was talking to the cov owners and they told him they have pots of cash. Don't know what the sky blue boys are getting all worked up about. Probably something to do with that those owners are ****ing over the club big time in an attempt to get the ricohs owners to have to flog it to them on the cheap.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Which is a good thing surely?. If we were clearing out his account he would want to cut his losses and get rid. Definitely. Should we get promoted, the owners will clearly have the funds to match their ambitions.
Vlad the Fox Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Probably something to do with that those owners are ****ing over the club big time in an attempt to get the ricohs owners to have to flog it to them on the cheap. In that case, if I was the owners of the Ricoh I'd set up coventry afc and truly **** over covs owners. With no planning permission for a new ground and little or no supporters they'll be screwed, eventually they'll want out and Ricoh snap them up on the cheap merge the clubs and start again from whatever league cov are in.
cc_star Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 God knows how they've acquired that much, with the total pigs ear they've made of running us. Presumably mainly assets rather than cash so it would be land & building bought for nothing (as mentioned above foreigners can't buy up land etc) now worth quite a bit as the Far East economy does ok. If so, it's not like they have cash, and could be a very different situation to some foreign owners snapping up English clubs with money they can't repatriate into their own country's without paying loads of tax on it, or people who have grown cash rich off their country's resource deposits thanks to carrying favour with Presidents etc.

You want a pigs ear look at cov, or forest, or Notts county, or Southampton, etc etc etc
cc_star Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 "total pigs ear" is a bit harsh. You want a pigs ear look at cov, or forest, or Notts county, or Southampton, etc etc etc OK, so we're not a Cov, but.... £100m later & still to achieve as much as we did before they saddled us with debt & players which when combined is proving a hindrance for us to try & kick on
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 If we get out this league then we are sorted. No problem, we all know that Pearson is a "God", so he is bound to sort it.
MooseBreath Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 OK, so we're not a Cov, but.... £100m later & still to achieve as much as we did before they saddled us with debt & players which when combined is proving a hindrance for us to try & kick on Were you vocal in your disagreement of the Sven appointment, and then again in your disagreement with the money we were spending at that time? If yes, well done, you were one of the miniscule minority. If not, give the owners a break. They've done nothing but things they hoped would lead us to success.
Bayfox Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 "total pigs ear" is a bit harsh. You want a pigs ear look at cov, or forest, or Notts county, or Southampton, etc etc etc southampton?? really!! i'd swap with them.
Guppy Posted 13 July 2013 Posted 13 July 2013 Jumped from $240m to $1.6bn in a year... WOW. Either his duty free business is doing very well or something very shady is going on The interest they're charging on our debts are worse than first feared!
