I wanted pearson out

I'll give people a little credit for be honest and saying they got it wrong but you're not actually wrong yet! We could still go tits up although I doubt it. Will you then revert to saying he is poor if things don't start to go well? Your jumping the gun too early here and thats what you did in the first place. I will forgive people for getting things wrong and accept different opinions but what I can't forgive is a lack of patience, fickleness and sheer hypocracy.

Its all about maintaining a balanced view. It doesn't mean don't critcise, in fact thats essential, it just means that you shouldn't completely write the players/manager off and instead, should still continue to back them. Vardy and Drinky are great examples of this. I was frustrated by them last year but I never gave up on them. I pointed out their shortcomings and wouldn't have been bothered to see them go but I still believed that they had the ability to turn it round and backed them the whole time there were wearing blue. One of the frustrations was that other players should have been ahead of them in the second half of the season but can you really say that another manager that we could attract, would have been a better option than Nigel? Look at Vardy and Drinky now; they've been 2 of our best players and are becoming key to the team.

The bottom line is that criticism is vital but it needs to be constructive and always back your players and managers until there are people out there and available, who can do better.  :scarf:

Will you look back at this and be embarrassed when you 'Pearson haters' look stupid when you have hated him, loved him and eventually hate him again. Be that for these three reasons:

  • Poor results in the Championship.
  • Poor results in the Premiership.
  • He leaves the club while you were still in the 'loved him' phase.

Sit on the fence guys, a much easier view.

I'm happy to put my hand-up and say I was part of the Pearson out brigade. I also understand that whatever I put now I'll get slated because the problem with Foxes Talk is that you can't have an open, honest and respectful debate. As soon as you write something some people don't agree with they immediately resort to personal abuse.

However, I will say that I'm still uncomfortable with Pearson. He's obviously doing a good job getting us up to second but, I wonder if his lack of flexibility, tactical naivety and bully manner will ultimately mean we miss-out again. If, and it's still a big if, we do get promoted this season then fair enough but it's only early November and whilst I hope I'm wrong I won't be surprised if we're looking for a new manager in the summer.

One thing, I personally, don't think will catch us out this year. Pearson has already tried 2 or 3 different systems this year with all them being successful in their own way. As well as that, we've also shown that we can grind out results this year something which we struggled to do last year during our poor run. We're winning games be it through nice football or scruffy 1-0 wins.

And this bully tactic, is there actually any truth in this? I mean, leaving players he doesn't like in the cold doesn't really count as bullying for me. He's done a really good job in the changing room, when he arrived the changing room was divided between the new players and the old players, there was no interaction outside the training ground and the atmosphere was cracked. Since he's arrived, the changing room has become one and that's thanks to him getting the players with the big egos out of the club and wanting players that want to play football in.

It's quite funny really but if Pearson had got the bullet at the end of last season, 90% of the "I've always backed Nigel" brigade on here would have been rejoicing!

Would they? Not the impression I got. It was a pretty even split.

Not the stats

Anyway, thanks for admitting it Kane, and I'm glad a corner is now turned, stay on the right path, don't go back to the Pearson Out brigade.

Or TBJS will come round, and play a bit of touch and feel.

If you want to go down that road, I can honestly say it's a pleasure.

For the most part, I've always backed NP. However, there was a period of about 2-3 weeks where I was so annoyed with our form that I wanted him gone! I apologise Mr Pearson, you are da' man!

There never was any evidence of him falling out with players, the only story that had any truth to it was St Ledger having a go at Pearson in front of the other players when he was in danger of losing his place in the Ireland team for the Euros, because he wasn't first choice here. Pearson rightly disciplined him and placed him on the transfer list for it. That was a matter of club discipline, not a falling out.

Any other story is just repeated rumour with nothing to back it up. Just a stick to beat Pearson with

We can't fault Nigels management record as it speaks for itself, maybe if he was just more media friendly more people would like him, the instance about Woods "lower leg injury" comment was just silly.

I wanted Pearson out near the arse end of last season. There were a few reasons:

1. Harry Kane.... A signing I never understood

2. Michael Keane... Will undoubtedly go on to bigger and better things, but was too young and physically lightweight when we needed another bigger, stronger CB.

3. The decline..... Remains unexplained really. The Chris Wood injury thing seemed a smokescreen?

4. The childish interviews with Stringer.

As I said in another thread, these issues have been rectified. Was I wrong for wanting a change AT THAT TIME? Who knows? Pearson may well do it for the club, someone else might have come in and done it last season.

All I can say is I'm much happier with the state of us now than I was then.

Always felt he should be given untill Xmas and I am glad this has been the case. At the moment it's all worked out well, and credit to those that have seen the error of there ways and welcome to the promised land lol ok long way to go lol

Careful, this is a sensible post you will be ridiculed by some for this. So far this season he has proved me wrong but we have won naff all yet. Let's see where we are in May before we start celebrating. So far so good. (Bit like last season at this stage).
