Union FS Posted 14 November 2013 Author Posted 14 November 2013 What are you planning to do for the Man City game? I think the atmosphere will be twice as good for that game because of where the drum is located, K1 to H1 to the KOP should be singing in time We've spoken to somebody on our Twitter page about it and it went down well. Basically, we've won three League Cups to Man City's two and we thought it'd be a good idea to remind them of that. Therefore, using cards held up by the fans in a mosaic/choreo, we've suggested the following. North Stand: White '64 on a blue background. South Stand: Blue '97 on a white background. East Stand: White '00 on a blue background. We aren't promising anything definite of course, but the club were receptive so we are hopeful.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 I think that's a great idea to be honest! It's a start. That could lead for it to happen more often even if it was only in one stand saying "LCFC" or something. A massive flag in the KOP and smaller flags everywhere else in the stadium next!
Stadt Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 This is the leadership/responsibility that we've been crying out for. Well done!
1964FOX Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 This is the stance the fosse boys should have taken. They did behind the scenes and made great progress but lost out due to some strong characters being over enthusiastic and uncompromising. I'm sure they would do it differently now.
Dan Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 I'm that person they've been speaking to. Personally love that as an idea. Completely behind this.
Ian W LCFC Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Fantastic website. I agree with the comment about getting a 'more professional' URL. (.co.uk or .com)
Union FS Posted 15 November 2013 Author Posted 15 November 2013 Thanks again all. Completely understandable and valid point regarding the URL. This is something that we had discussed but decided against at the time because of the costs involved - given that we had no idea of the level of support we would receive. If this is something that our members support and are willing to fund then we would of course make this step. You could argue that the cost of a domain name is pretty nominal (particularly once shared between X number of people) but as soon as the group start paying for things, we need to make sure our members' money is protected - i.e. by setting up an independent bank account - and used wisely! Once again it is worth making the point that none of what we want to achieve is possible without support - and we've already had a lot - so if you are genuinely interested in supporting us please do visit: http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/union-fs/get-involved/
Narborough_fox Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 Just given this a look, best of luck and good to see people taking an initiative and getting things moving. Really hope this works. The idea for Manchester City is brilliant, really hope that goes ahead, would look brilliant.

It was raised by one of the other members at the FCC meeting. Personally think it's a brilliant idea, the only thing that may go against it is the fact our game isn't on TV. Really hope it goes ahead though.

Leicester Lass Posted 17 November 2013 Posted 17 November 2013 What's tv got to do with it? Because there would be more chance of the club wanting to put on a display such as this in front of the TV cameras.
steveherbe Posted 17 November 2013 Posted 17 November 2013 Gupps, bloody hero, from colden common just outside winchester - thats where I live, and is sol the wall bambas home village.
K1FOX Posted 17 November 2013 Posted 17 November 2013 Because there would be more chance of the club wanting to put on a display such as this in front of the TV cameras. Ah I see what you mean but surely this kind of thing is for atmosphere and more for the fans and players to make it special. Wouldn't think a pre match display would attract more tv viewers. How likely dyu think it is to happen from what was said at meeting?

They'll definitely be doing something to put on a show of some sort, because the owners are going to be there. Whether it will be this idea in particular, I don't know. We're due to have another meeting at the end of this month where Susan Whelan will be there too, I'll bring it up again then.

Glad to see the owners have time to spare and watch us when playing pisspot teams midweek. Hope they can sort out the tickets for the poor fans that go week in week out but can't get a ticket for this game. I bet most season ticket holders did not have 5 friends before they could get 6 tickets for this game.

I bet most season ticket holders did not have 5 friends before they could get 6 tickets for this game. Although not the owners biggest fan, yes what they should do is fly half way round the world for a midweek fixture at Yeovil and ignore any other meetings and all their businesses, the thing that funds the spending on our club. But maybe you could raise the point that when they are not attending games, they should allow some luck people to sit in their seats, maybe for free, that would seem to make a few people on here happy, afterall why should you have to pay to support your club. I have also purchased 6 extra tickets on top of my 2 season tickets, but they have gone to people who have supported this club since the 70's but due to location and finances now can't afford to have a season ticket and travel back and forth every other week, but they don't bitch and moan about it. It's just life.

It's just life. I have turned down tickets for this game. Why? cos I live in Norfolk and get to few games now. Fans that go week in week out but have not got an ST should be looked after for this sort of game. I also no for a fact some ST holders have cashed in on this. Also how can the club offer 6 tickets for every ST. Had the first 4.5k all took 6 then over half the ST holders would not have got the chance to go. See what side you would have been on then. Oh and as for there business that funds our club it Don't. They have lent us 55mil we owe it back plus intrest. Plus what they spent on the ground that we probably pay high rent on now. They are not doing us favours they are gonna make money out of us. It's a business they are not fans.
C-man Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Also how can the club offer 6 tickets for every ST. Had the first 4.5k all took 6 then over half the ST holders would not have got the chance to go. Well, no. Because the other STHs had their places reserved so could not lose their seat to another season ticket holder's +5. I think it would be a shame if the club decided not to do it on the strength that it isn't televised. The reason for it should be for the fans in attendance and arguably more importantly to motivate the players. There are plenty of other reasons the club could give to save face but because "it's not on TV" would be an embarrassing cop-out.
xHamzah Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 They should have provided people who purchased previous Capital One Cup tickets with a priority over general sale at least.

Dan Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Another quality article and yet again I agree with every word. I've always thought that we don't have the same pride in ourselves as the likes of the Geordies, the Welsh or even Yorkshire.
