Union FS Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Hi all,Now that the shock and horror of the derby day defeat to the Red Dogs down the road has hopefully dissipated, we'd like to unveil a new blog and supporters' group for LCFC. Our blog is named Filbo Spirit after our legendary former home at Filbert Street and we are Union FS, a supporters' group committed to improving the atmosphere and lot of LCFC fans in all four stands at Filbert Way.We've been preparing an e-fanzine for City fans we'd like you to have a look around and enjoy, with topics ranging from match reports to celebrating our proud history. We are first and foremost a group that wishes to improve the atmosphere at Filbert Way, championing fans' independence and seeking the support of the club to make Filbert Way as much of a fortress as Filbert Street could be back in the day.Anybody who got to experience the special days and nights at the old girl before it closed in 2002 must sorely miss the incredible atmosphere we created, which was once officially the loudest in the country. We're not just about standing and singing though. We're also about making the whole experience at Filbert Way better for fans regardless of how they support our club. If you want to sit down and enjoy the game without having to pay a king's ransom, we will look at ways of working with the club to ensure that happens. If you want to stand and sing but find the club battling your every move, we will do our best for you. We want the club's support to grow, diversify and build the next generation of City fans. That will mean cheaper tickets, improved stewarding, service from club officials and new ideas. We aim to work with the club to do just that.We intend to work with the FSF and their fantastic team, and encourage all fans to do the same. If you want to join us or are interested in what we do, read our blog page for more details. We can do nothing without the support of you, the fans. No matter how you support our club; we would love you to take an interest in us. Above all, we want to provide a platform for fans' voices to be heard, so will be posting on here regularly in the hope of getting your views to add to our blog, as well as seeking the support of the club to move forward.Enjoy our blog and we hope to hear from you soon.Union FS http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/
Bayfox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 A few of those articles are a good read. all the best.
Unabomber Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 I won't lie and say i'm going to read it, but the layout looks good so well done mate.

davieG Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Interesting stuff and good luck Just to say I can't read the blue right hand column.
Union FS Posted 13 November 2013 Author Posted 13 November 2013 Thanks davieG.We'll bear that in mind and have a fiddle with the settings.
Dan Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 This sounds completely up my street. Will offer help if wanted.
ozleicester Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Liked it, and agree with DavieG about the Blue column on the right, Good Luck
Guest MattP Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Nice one. A good read and agree with your aims.
jonthefox Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 This is the stance the fosse boys should have taken.
KFS Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Really hope this kicks on, we're crying out for something. Resilience is key here, there will be some uphill battles, but if you're the group closing the gap between club and fans I don't see why either party would have a problem. Good luck! P.s. Some very good articles in that blog!
K1FOX Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Exactly what we need in the terraces. Some organisation. If we can have organised displays, have big banners and flags and have filbo spirit conversing with the club in order to get their approval it could really be the start of something. Just got to make sure it's done properly ala middlesborough and not the fosse boys.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 First thing than you need to get down is swap the KOP with the family stand!
Dan Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Think the blog is excellent as well. Very nicely written, agree with every word and offers an interesting insight into our history. We may be onto something here...
Lasty Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Nice one. All good stuff and naturally, I agree with it all.
ashfosse Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 great site and blog. something does need to be done. nice to see that 'we love you' isnt listed in the song section aswell. needs to be dropped asap. WYS
Kitchandro Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Had a quick look and it looks good, you've clearly put a lot of thought into things. Will give it more of a read later.
gurn Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Good articles, my only problem is the URL. Wordpress URLs don't look too professional, whereas the content is fantastic. Hopefully you can get a .co.uk or something similar. Good luck with it
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Interesting stuff and good luck Just to say I can't read the blue right hand column. I have to say that I found it difficult, but a very good read.
Union FS Posted 14 November 2013 Author Posted 14 November 2013 Thanks for a great response thus far, the positivity shown has been great. We have had a few people ask us what we're about, what we aim to do and even how to join. We hope questions one and three are ably answered by the Get Involved button on the Union FS drop down menu, the link is attached below.http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/union-fs/get-involved/ In terms of what we aim to do in the short term, an idea for the Manchester City game is already in the offing and has been positively received by the club in principle. We intend to contact the club with regard to progress on it nearer the time of the match. In the medium term, we aim to start offering away travel for some games that will help turn ordinary away days into great days out that will help to build a sense of camaraderie between fans before, during and after the game. We will publish details of these games as and when decisions and arrangements have been made, though this is likely to be later in the season once we've really got off the ground as a group. What we aim to do in the long term is to create a group that reflects the diversity of LCFC's supporter base, a group that will really add to the fabric of Filbert Way on Saturdays at 3pm. How that manifests itself is ultimately up to the creativity, drive and size of the membership of the group. The more of you who join and support us, the better the results will be! Watch this space, ladies and gents!Union FS
LCFC FOX Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 What are you planning to do for the Man City game? I think the atmosphere will be twice as good for that game because of where the drum is located, K1 to H1 to the KOP should be singing in time
