Wednesday Player Ratings

Kasper 5 - made two decent saves, but his kicking was shit again and he should've done better for their 2nd.

Wasilewski 6 - First time he's looked uncomfortable for us. No winger second half hindered him.

Konch 6 - A steady game, didn't really do anything wrong but didn't stand out.

Morgan 5 - Poor. Dominated by Wickham.

Miquel 6 - Defended well.

Knocky 7 - He was terrorising them. Can't believe he was dragged. Fantastic goal.

Dyer 5 - Wasteful.

James 5 - Never got in the game, always looked like he was treading on eggshells.

Drinky 5 - Didn't play anywhere near his recent class, wasted passes and just wasn't at the raves.

Vardy 6 - Great running in behind but his first touch needs a big improvement, a couple of times a poor first touch has wasted a good chance.

Nuge 5 - Poor. Missed the target when the keeper was on the floor and nothing at all went for him.

Hammond 5 - Wasted the ball and lacked composure.

Wood 5 - Feel sorry for him. Didn't get any service, made him look bad.

Schlupp 5 - Didn't do anything to try and get himself involved.

Kasper 6 - Didn't think he could do anything about either goal at all.

Wasilewski 5 - Didn't look great at RB - header at the end was woeful.

Konch 7 - MOTM for me in a poor team

Morgan 5 - This is where I would be worried having him in the Prem. Wickham killed him

Miquel 6 - Good distribution.

Knocky 6 - Great goal, came off because of injury I assume.

Dyer 5 - Poor

James 3 - Terrible - missed King doing the dirty work so much. Hardly made a tackle or touched the ball

Drinky 6 - One of the better players.

Vardy 6 - Poor final product but always looked like he could make something

Nuge 3 - Shite

Hammond 5 - Good for the first 15 mins he was on then went shit

Wood 5 - Hardly got a chance

Schlupp 5 - See above

6 for Wasi ? 4 would have been plenty - not a big fan of DeLaet but game was made for him tonight

Rest of scores spot on

Maybe a bit generous yes, but in the second half he was almost having to play full back, and right wing.

Kasper never impresses me much when I see him. I don't think I've seen him have a really good game against us. Top marks for the save to deny Connor his hat-trick but mixed decision making at times and his kicking is dreadful.

Your entire back 4 Konchesky excepted were poor. The lad on loan looked like someone who hasn't played much football, Morgan got bullied by Connor and I thought Maghoma caused Wasilewski problems all night.

Knockaert was your best player I've no idea why you took him off, Dyer was wasteful and like Antonio for us when he plays he's a bit of a one trick pony, Drinkwater for me was the better of your midfield.

Nugent was poor and Vardy always looked the more likely of your two strikers. He missed a sitter in front of the Kop though.

Kasper 6 Would need to see it again but I didn't think he was at fault for the second

Wasilewski 5 Tough night for him because first and foremost he's a defender. He had to play the entire second half without a man in front of him, so was given more of an attacking responsibility. This isn't his strength clearly. Also at fault for their first goal.

Morgan 5 Given a torrid time by Wickham.

Miquel 5 sold himself terribly on our touch line in the second half which nearly enabled them to score on the break. I thought he was poor

Konch 7 Very solid. MOTM for me

Drinkwater 6.5 Not his best game but had a better second half. Kept going and more importantly kept wanting the ball which several others didn't

James 5 Anononous mostly. Very quiet game

Knockaert 7 Unbelieavble goal. Shame he got injured, he'd have had a field day against Mattock

Dyer 6 Awful miss in the first half. Pace caused them problems at times

Vardy 6 Made some good runs but had two golden chances that he should have scored with

Nugent 4 I'm a fan but he was awful tonight, real bad day at the office for him. Had a good chance second half but all he could be bothered to do was swing a leg at it and hope for the best.

Subs

Hammond 5 Gave the ball away

Wood 5 Had the ball lumped at him most of the time he was on the pitch. Hard for him with a 6 ft plus defender marking him. We should have played it to his feet more

Schlupp 3 TERRIBLE. Didn't make one single positive contribution

Wasn't injured NP took him off for tactical reasons, very bemusing to say the least!

How do you know that? I've not heard anything that Pearson said post match as I couldn't get radio leics

Pearson said so.

Pearson's subs have been pretty much spot on this season. But to take Knocky off when losing a game is really strange.

It would have gave Wednesday a lift and especially Mattock as Knocky had the beating of him.

To then also play the entire second half without a right winger not only left Wasilewski exposed it also meant more attacking emphasis was left to him down that side. Very very strange substitution.

He said something about players losing discipline and when Stringer asked if Knock came off for an injury or another reason, Pearson simply said he pulled him off or something and not an injury.

Big game down at Brighton now, they lost 2-1 against recently manergerless Barnsley at home after previously doing well in their last match. lets get back to business

Kasper - 5 poor again

Was - 6 - clueless going forward but worked hard

Miquel - 6 - few decent touches, seems to get first to the ball more than a lot of our players

Wes - 5 - not seem him bullied like that in such a long time.

Konchesky - 7 - solid

Dyer - 5 - wasteful, although a threat. Maybe to himself.

Drinky - 6 - never lacked passion, looked forward at all times and just wasn't his night, not helped.

James - 2 - an utter shambles. Weak, negative, off the pace by 2 yards. No attacking threat at all. Stinker.

Hammond - 3 - poor, really poor. A nice player when you're hanging on. Negative minded.

Knocky - 8 - bemused by his subbing as he was our only real spark. Made things happen and while it didn't always come off he worked hard too.

Vardy - meh, can't finish. No composure, just fast but weve always known that. Very hard working though.

Nugent - 4 - defended him, but tonight was a stinker.

Nigel Pearson - 2 - wrong tactics to start with, get overrun. Wrong selection. Crazy to take Tony off. Bemused king didn't get a look in but instead just went to hoofball. Really bad day.

HE WAS INJURED!!!!!

Knocky not injured. Pearson confirmed Tactical decision.

Sorry did I say decision?! Meant disaster....

Good to hear he isn't injured.

It's possible his tactic was to ensure he didn't get injured by Mattock and was precautionary, with some big games coming up, after what sounded like a really bad tackle against him. Although I wouldn't have brought on Hammond, not a great decision, but then that's easy to say in hindsight.

I thought Konchesky was our best player got forward lots and put a peach of a ball to Knockaert for his goal don't agree that Knockaert had a great game apart from his goal he left Was exposed at times

Posted

I kinda understand why Pearson put Hammond on, their midfield were all over Danny and Matty and kept running through them. However it didn't work at all as we lost our shape and ended up with zero threat down the right. Plus knocky was looking lively and giving mattock nightmares
