I think it's a near-impossible question to answer as we've seen 'average' teams get promoted and do alright in the Premier League, even sustaining it. See Wigan, Stoke and recently promoted Hull. As for 'unlikely event'. What does that mean? We're top of the league at the end of December. What more could we do to put ourselves in a better position?
