The terrace sings, as one for you

Is how I always sing it. That's what it started as I think and it sounds a bit better, more unified but I've heard some shambolic versions of it already.

A young lad that sits behind me sang this last night..1st time I've heard him, although he did sing..

EIEIEIO up the football league we go,

when we get promotion, this is what we'll sing..

we are Leicester..we are Leicester..

mumble mumble..ing.

His mate laughed and said wtf was that?

The lad laughed and said..I dunno I'm just joining in.

I turned to him and said..fair play to ya mate, then told him the correct version.

He said..cheers mate and belted it out.

The little git kept asking about other chants..eventually I just said sing what you want mate..then after the match, look them up on your phone.

I'm debating whether I did the right thing..or if I'm going to have to put up with his teenage voice..which is just breaking for the rest of the season.

It's astounding some don't know the words.

I wouldn't say so - nobody seems to get the tempo of songs right and start falling over themselves to get to the end, so the lyrics end up sounding quite mumbled: how are people supposed to learn them from that?

Look at WYS as an example - that gets sung far far faster than it should be.

It's a vicious cycle,

People sing the words too fast because they don't know them properly because they are sung too fast!

My first ever post, so here goes.

I don't know the words for half the songs, but it doesn't spoil the fun. Interesting reading though.

I've had some ideas for songs bouncing round my head for a while and don't know what to do with them. Thought this might be a good place to share them.

To the Proclaimer's tune...

I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more

Just to be the fan that walked a thousand miles

To join the City roar

LEICESTER CITY, (echo) Leicester City

LEICESTER CITY, (echo) Leicester City

Come and join the Leicester roar

(repeat last 3 lines ad-nausium)

To the tune of "I don't want to join the army"...

We are mighty Leicester City, We are Leicester City blues

We're the greatest football team

The world has ever seen

We're the mighty Leicester City super blues.

To the tune of "zip a dee doo dah"

Schlupp - a dee doo dah, Schlupp - a dee ay

My oh my, what a wonderful day.

Jeffery Schlup is coming your way

Schlupp - a dee doo dah, Schlupp - a dee ay
