Deucalion Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 We are going to lose a game at some point and see our lead eroded. Neither QPR or Burnley are playing Saturday though, so we lose and it doesn't erode our lead and we have a chance to put it right on Tuesday. Win, we increase our lead and pile pressure on those below. Points in the bag are worth more than games in hand.
stevelcfc Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Every game we play is going to get progressively harder, but we are more than capable of being able to do it!
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 People who think stats are FACTS need to get their FACTS right! Take each game as it comes why create more pressure for pressure sake? Ha Just keep the faith... COYB!
Fatbloke Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 The thread was all about stats was it not ? so stop moaning about them, for the record 35pts more and we`re up, guaranteed :-)
Mark_from_USA Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Here's a stat. Burnley have won 4 out of their last 14. I don't thing Burnley will last it out. It will take me being wrong or a mighty surge from another side below them. The think is, Leicester have a dead-serious look about them.
deanolegend1989 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Even a run of 9 wins 6 draws and 5 losses would stick us on 90 points. I think 90 would be good enough. I feel we are nearly at the point where it would take a 'monumental f up' to deny us, but as it is currently, were not quite high enough to combat that. If we were to have a pretty big slip up we could easily get 3rd or 4th with like 75-80 points. Id say if we hit the 70+ points mark by between the 31st-33rd game. It would start to look like only a collapse bigger than probably ever happened would deny us..
foxfanazer Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 These threads do make for an interesting read and the stats are good to see so I have no problem with these kind of threads. Anybody thinking that promotion is a formality is hugely mistaken though. Nige won't be letting the players think like that
DanTheMan Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If people like stats/graphs/predictions etc - check out my iPhone app: TeamTracker Hopefully you'll all have your fill! P.S. I agree with the people that have said stats aren't facts, and that we shouldn't count our chickens yet - but stats are good at showing trends, and currently it's looking pretty rosy!

I have this app on my i-phone and it is really good. I use it all the time. I see that you have updated it Dan - nice work. Still think that being able to compare 2 teams would be useful but maybe for a later date!

Still think that being able to compare 2 teams would be useful but maybe for a later date! Renart, Thanks for the feedback - hopefully the app is a bit more pleasing to the eye now! Fun fact, the original version was written from scratch in evenings and weekends in under a month! I will certainly look at a head-to-head comparison feature for a future update! Are you thinking something along the lines of being able to compare two teams based on the stats that are already available on a per-team basis, or something else altogether? Thanks again! Dan
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Well the facts are, if we get better results than everyone else we will be champions I guarantee it.
ealingfox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 All we should focus on is 2 points per game from here on in. Win your homes, draw your aways, as usual. If we average 2 ppg for the last 20, we will finish on a formidable points total.

Dan Exactly this. For instance, for the league position it would be good to be able to have both Leicester and Forest on the screen at the same time so that you could plot one against the other - for a starter. It is great without this but just a thought.
MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I do wonder what would happen should we lose on Saturdaylol Seenitall, flowwolf, AnotherShitSeason, Johnny Cash, BNET, 5waller5, Swiss Tony, jamesmilner, somebum, unreachable, phildw et al. will chuckle for the first time in five months.

Pegosteve Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I don't think anyone has not got auto promotion with 27 wins so just 9 to go. Unless of course we lose the other 11!!
DanTheMan Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 will your app work on a jailbroken device i cant afford £1.49 I don't see why it wouldn't... I can send you a code for a free download though if you'd like? PM me and let me know.
Jacnah Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Guys last year I did a projection of points needed based on the last ten seasons of the Championship. I let slip when the omens were good last year and I was very confident. Hence I am not going to say what's required etc, I have it all on a geeky spreadsheet and every Monday morning it gets updated. What makes it more difficult to predict this year is that three clubs are ahead of normal pace. so would this imply that if we look at the distribution of required points over the last 10 years there is a greater probability that we will need to acheive a tally <90th percentile (ish)??
Dan Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 The points totals are interesting but lets not use them to decide what'll happen this year. There's nothing stopping Burnley/QPR picking up another 15 wins each.

I would like to check out your app, but feel 1.49 might be on the pricey side, if it did all leagues I might have bought it. Does it only do championship and will you be updating it for next season if we get in the PL?
