Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 They will say it benefitted the few who were able to pay on the gate, and inconvenienced nobody as it was an additional allocation. They will say more away fans means mote trouble and probably have stats to back it up. Not saying I agree with what they did but it's easily justifiable from their point of view Eh? We sold out the initial, 2nd and 3rd allocation, so obviously it did inconvenience people who wanted to go when it was already 'sold out'. People are also well aware that other clubs were given a far bigger allocation. Have you even remotely tried to understand the situation?
blueonyou Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 What a complete waste of the polices time (and yours). Move on...
GingerrrFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 What a complete waste of the polices time (and yours). Move on... If you saw half the shit police deal with these days you wouldn't be saying it was a waste of time.

The act of releasing additional tickets didn't inconvenience anyone anymore than they had already been inconvenienced. They realised that trouble was unlikely, presumably judging from the number of brum fans expected, atmosphere in the build up etc and allowed the release of the additional tickets. What haven't I understood?
Lukey Boi Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 About time someone challenged them. But why were 800 on the door in the first place with no info given to fans! Makes no sense. Quality letter none the less.
RedSoxUK Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I suggest sending a revised letter to BCFC asking why they said none would be available on the gate, and then allocate an extra 800. If they / police didn't want undesireables, then they wouldn't have opened up an extra 800 in the first place.

Guest MattP Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 We are so strange in this country. Can't be another nation on the planet that seems to go out of it's way to keep as many people out of entertainment venues rather than get them in. People want to go - seats are avaliable - "nothing we can do" - When you actually think about it it's bonkers, no wonder clubs go under.

Is it the police instigating it all with the clubs having little say? or do clubs genuinely not want fuller stadiums, either way it makes no sense.

You can see on the picture of our away support where those 800 are towards the right (not to mention the top tier which is completely empty), police/stewards are still covering it, it wouldn't have made any difference to anything. Club doing themselves out of £25/30k for no reason whatsoever, not to mention the added cash into the local economy that doesnt come under footy spend.
Union FS Posted 30 January 2014 Author Posted 30 January 2014 Thank you all for the comments. Following liaison with the FSF, a revised letter will be submitted directly to the WMP, the Safety Advisory Group, Birmingham City FC and Birmingham City council. Union FS
Tommy G Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I think someone has too much time on their hands.... It was probably best to leave it and it won't change a thing
AndWhat? Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Yeah, shame on Filbo Spirit for trying to stand up for the fans.
Lionator Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I think someone has too much time on their hands.... It was probably best to leave it and it won't change a thing If it prevents it happening again to another clubs fans, then it would've changed something.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Why would it be best to 'leave it?' It was commented upon by many that the allocation was too small as it was, Birmingham is well within range of a cheeky last minute attempt to buy tickets on the gate and there were swathes of empty seats next to the allocation that could have been allocated to us. They could have given us that extra 800 allocation and more besides, we'd have snaffled them up like hot cakes. Somebody has either cocked up or made a significant error of judgement that cost potentially hundreds of Leicester fans the chance to see us do something we haven't done in 130 years, it's only right that questions are asked.

It was probably best to leave it and it won't change a thing Dont like freedom of speach, dont like people trying to change things, by asking civilised questions .?? Anything to do with a 'Question Time' panel Do you belong to the W.M police by any chance.

I think some people are that used to it that they've almost started thinking it's the right way of doing it. We have one bizarre mentality at times.
