But Nike designer Tinker Hatfield says that's about to change—power laces are coming in 2015. The future is here! Yes, as Sole Collector tells it, designer Tinker Hatfield showed up at the Jordan Brand's Flight Lab space in New Orleans yesterday. When asked about power laces, his answer was pretty unequivocal: "Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!" Sole Collector points out that Hatfield didn't specify whether power laces will show up on the Nike Mag, or some other product, but who cares? POWER LACES PEOPLE. And there's some meaningful chronology here: Marty's self-lacing sneaks, you'll recall were from the year 2015. Was Nike holding out, making sure they didn't create a time paradox that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe? If so, smart move. 2015 is gonna be awesome.
Zingari Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 For years now i've been replacing shoe laces with black elastic threaded through the holes and left permanently tied . I just slip them on and don't have to bother tying them . I shudda patented the idea NIKE owes me millions !!

No i'm not joking I always remove shoelaces and replace them with black round or flat knicker elastic from the haberdashers and leave them tied so they effectively become slip on shoes . Blokes like me sometimes need to jump up out of bed and get dressed and out a house in hurry , if you catch my drift. i was joking (wishful thinking) about the last bit

There's not so much choice with slip-ons and i find that in most cases slip on shoes are too tight as i have a high instep and i end up over stretching the elastic and they become sloppy or even split at the vamp. With elastic cord in normal shoes i can spend a few minutes tailoring to my exact fit and it's a simple matter of replacing the elastic now and again . this is me talking cobblers for real

Rincewind Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I take a wide fitting shoe so slip ons are best for me. Also my shoe lace tying is not the best and they come undone after afew hours. Got the stick down straps type as well. They can be adjusted to suit my foot.
