If anyone knew his track record or his knowledge in this area of sport then you'd realise this too. I wouldn't turn the typical 'lazy journalist bastard' tone that football fans do when their team is mentioned on just yet.

I thought it was common knowledge that Nothingham were busy planning a legal bid against FFP. It makes sense for those who are spending beyond their means and possibly not getting promoted this season, or certainly with a chance of not making the playoffs to get their legal team on the case.

MooseBreath Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 We have taken steps, but only to a certain extent, while Danns, Gallagher, Nugent, Schmeichel, SSL & maybe Schlupp and others awarded contracts are here, we'll be throwing up huuuuge losses. Higher up, we see that even likes of Chelsea needed to sell Essien & KDB to bring in players, ManUtd will have to sell Vidic to bring in a big name CB & so on & on as even the biggest clubs won't be able to collect players so the bigger players will be spread around more clubs, this will obviously trickle down too. If we were that bothered about complying we'd have sold Schmeichel to Hull, Morgan to Forest & Vardy to Southampton, as it is we're still running up the overspend, just at a lesser rate than under previous management. Like mentioned above of owners want to run up huge debts and make money off loans & interest they should have to 'give' the money We're on track to comply with ffp so we're not making huge losses at all.

In any case 8m is not that much in a football context, especially when you're a club heading to the prem with owners willing to wipe out debts.

If be concerned if they were too similar given that we didn't pay Mills, Fernandes, Abe or Johnson at all last season and didn't pay all of Beckford or Danns' wages last season either. That's about half of the squad trimming.

I've seen nothing about being profitable, that's where they want it to be. Well, we know a 10 million cushion was put in the debt for equity swap, which would cover maximum losses under FFP this season and next (convenient).

Or do you mean inline with the figures for the season before last (the years Sven spent on Beckford and we lost £30m)... because if that's what they are matching, then I certainly would call it a "fantastic squad trimming".
