Guest LCFC_World Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Hello all, I would really like to get a season ticket In SK1 next season next to a mate (he already has one) but apparently there has been a meeting between Union FS and Leicester city which means that it is going to be reserved. What does this mean and how will it affect my chances of getting one? Will I have to sign up to anything before I can get one or what? Any help will be much apreacitated. Thank you.

All you need to do it make your self known by giving your name and email address I think and you'll be added to the list
Guest LCFC_World Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Ok mate, where do I do this? What website? Can you provide me with a link? Thank you!
LCFC FOX Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Here you go mate http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/union-fs/get-involved/ send the following details to [email protected] and we will add you to the mailing list for future events: - Name- Age- STH or Non-STH- Estimated home games per season- Estimated away games per season
AndWhat? Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Thank you for your help. It's not the whole of SK1 mate, literally just about 200 seats! So unless he has a season ticket in the Union FS block you won't need to email UFS.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Where abouts is the Union FS block located?
AndWhat? Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Where abouts is the Union FS block located? Round about seat 20! There is a block diagram in one of the UFS threads but can't find it on my phone.
GorlestonFox Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 I think calling it the 'Union FS block' isnt going to help your arguement of elitism.
AndWhat? Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Anyone fancy writing a list of rules on how we can not come across as elitist? I'm getting a bit confused.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 He was just trying to help me, nothing wrong with that. I don't understand people, if you don't like it then dont get involved. It's really not hard. Anyway, back on topic, does anyone have any idea about where in SK1 they are reserving seats for UFS?

Anyway, back on topic, does anyone have any idea about where in SK1 they are reserving seats for UFS? We have been basing ourselves in SK1 rows FF-PP seats 17 to 29. However there are also people sitting to the right hand of that block so seats 29 onwards. Does that help?
Leicester1884Filbert Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Im currently seat 40ish, would it be best to relocate or is it fine where i am?
AndWhat? Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 As for the queries regarding where we are specifically targeting, this diagram may help. The intention is to fill the yellow area at first (well on the way), moving right as you look at the below through the purple and pink areas until you join up with the singers already positioned from around 210. We understand that this is not going to happen overnight and getting such a number for the game against Charlton is potentially an unrealistic target, however as we move towards the end of the season and into next we feel as though occupying this entire area is achievable. Worth noting that the vast majority of this area is currently empty so there is plenty of room for people to move into. He was just trying to help me, nothing wrong with that. Leicester1884Filbert Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 im going to relocate to the yellow section tomorrow when i ring up to book reading tickets, can i do this over the phone?
El Sieffsi Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Correct, some seats in the UFS block will be left un sold for non season ticket holders.Fair comment and I get that..I'm still confused about policing non sth..how will that work? The club will have names and addresses for sth..so if there's a problem with a non sth..or non UFS member then what?..what is the difference? Don't get me wrong..as I've said..I think it's a great thing what UFS are doing. There's just some grey areas I'm unsure of. I meant to reply to Vlad the fox and 1964FOX.
C-man Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 I think calling it the 'Union FS block' isnt going to help your arguement of elitism. What would you have them call the (very small - less than a hundredth of the ground) area? I really don't understand how a group trying to organise an area for fans who want to sing constantly are being labelled 'elitist'. It's not like they are saying they are more important than other fans is it? In fact, they have written a number of times that they appreciate everyone has a right to support their team in whatever way they wish. Not sure what else they can do?

I came across wrong, I am all for this group, all I meant was that some people will and have taken to it badly if it becomes labled in that manner
Dan Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Union FS has come across fantastically well so far offering a very balanced view which appears to me to encompass all fans. This is such a great opportunity to actually create a singing section with some major clout and it would seem even the club approve of the ideas put forward so far. For me the whole concept really isn’t that difficult, I’m not even sure what there is to be debate? The way I read it is…..If you are a fan of any background and like to create a positive atmosphere go and sit with Union FS in SK1 (a fairly sparsely populated area of the ground) and sing your heart out and have a good time for 90 minutes. There is no clique or secret handshake. Union FS simply want people to sign up so they can keep people who are interested in loop with any developments. I personally find it bizarre how much people read into things that just aren’t there, just my opinion mind you! It just needs people to actually get involved now. Thank you Union FS for all the hard work put in so far It's a shame so many don't view it this way, as this is spot on.
Dan Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Anyone fancy writing a list of rules on how we can not come across as elitist? I'm getting a bit confused. It's impossible. That's a fact. The fact people are still claiming some form of elitism just shows how desperate people are to jump to conclusions without knowing anything. I've followed the whole thing from the start, signed up and can categorically say it isn't elitism - it's an attempt to create something respectable, that anyone can join in with.
iancognito Posted 24 March 2014 Posted 24 March 2014 I've probably let the whole Union FS thing pass me by and hadn't realised how much it had grown over the past few weeks. First of all, a big well done to all the people involved that are actually trying to organise something and get people together. Everyone's had opinions on singing sections and improving the atmosphere but few people have actually got off their arses and got their heads together so even if it all went tits up at least you tried. I'm not sure why anyone would think this is an elitist thing. Getting people together in one place to sing and get behind the lads isn't saying they're better than non-singers it's just common sense. When I can get to games I usually get a place near the back of K and I'm always amazed people go in there and don't join in. I couldn't go to a game and not sing or sit in silence. And if I wanted to do that I'd choose a quiet corner. But that's your choice. You may have followed the team for 50 years, sit with a blanket over your legs and a thermos tucked under your seat (in August) and never done more than clap a decent pass. It doesn't make you any better or worse than someone who has been around for 5 years and can barely speak at the end of a game. We're all Leicester fans but we all enjoy the game in different ways. For the more vocal people, this is just "enhancing the matchday experience" as the people in power would say. It's not just the noise factor, it looks good on us if we have a block of people standing together and leading the songs. But after reading the last 5 pages I just need a bit of clarity. My job means that I only get down to midweek games or the odd re-arranged stupid kick off time. Apart from signing up to be in FS, if I wanted to get a seat in the Union section would I need a ST or need to get to a minimum number of games or even get a seat by a set time in advance? As it is, I generally get my rotas a couple of weeks in advance and have to pick & choose my games at pretty short notice. So I want to sing, I want to be at a ground not a library, but I can't guarantee I'll always be able to be there.

I think the membership is for people buying season tickets as the club will reserve that section for a short period once they go on sale. Therefore if you become a member you have identified/committed yourself to be a singer and can buy tickets in the reserved singing section. After the reservation period is over anyone can buy tickets in the area, the idea being that like minded people who wish to sing have a chance to get together in that section before other people who probably aren't as bothered get tickets. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. All this talk of singing anyone would think we are a choir.

Dan Posted 24 March 2014 Posted 24 March 2014 Creating a little section is just common sense. The mind truly does boggle as to how anyone can see it as being elitist. It's no more 'elitist' than having a family stand.
