Certain posters don't help and though they may claim to be only posting their opinion and not that of Union FS it can easily be misconstrued.

In fairness to us m8,most of us talk sense don't you agree.

Depend upon how many of you have posted.

From the 3 I assume to be Union members 2 aren't doing them any favours.

As someone who has seen the atmosphere dry up in large parts of L1 for the reasons stated, I agree completely with cityfanlee.

I think UFS have handled themselves excellently, and his comments weren't in any way meant as a slur. To accuse him of trying to somehow "split" the support for stating the bleeding obvious - that people ARE moving to L1 to experience the atmosphere rather than contribute it - is what's juvenile and counterproductive, if anything.

The L1 singers aren't going to haemmorhage support to UFS, it's already clear that their members are coming from across other parts of the stadium where people are sick of being surrounded by day-trippers more interesting in their match program than the match. In reality, if you continue to act in such a tribal manner and keep getting publicly butthurt, you're going to put off singing supporters weighing up both areas who would otherwise want to come to L1 and contribute - and chances are the section will die as more day-trippers head there and further dilute the already diminishing atmosphere.

In other words, i think that you ought to grow up and accept that having new singing sections is a good thing, work with them and move forward, otherwise what you're worried about will actually happen - namely, UFS will attract supporters sick of your shite and lead to the death of L1 as a singing section.

Yes we have a concept.Go to game sing and have a good time, then go home.Simple really,we're not invading Poland.

I don't see how your sarcasm as anything to do with what i've said and comments like yours just adds to my point and this is exactly what happened on here with the Fosse Boys who I enthusiastically supported as i do with the basic concept of Union FS.

Your can't base your opinions on assumptions m8,it don't work like that.

That wasn't sarcasm. That is our concept.

Yes we have a concept.Go to game sing and have a good time, become a member, self police, reserve seats, meet with the club, start a fanzine, support safe standing, then go home.Simple really,we're not invading Poland.

Fixed that.

Not trying to be antagonistic, but your description of the concept is very different to what I read in the meeting minutes and philosophy of Union FS as a whole.

Not saying it is a bad thing, but saying you are just a singing a group is doing the UFS a disservice, it is certainly good you are meeting with the club, trying to improve the atmosphere and attitudes towards football fans and support safe standing, which I would like to see, but you have to be wary of politicising football, and alienating members and other fans, as opposed to just being a singing group.

Just as an example what if some members of UFS want to bring smokebombs in and others don't?

Posted

Yes it does, and I may change my opinion to 3 out of 3 very shortly.

Sorry m8,I didn't mean to.come across as a tosser, just that your guessing who's a member and who isn't.I am a member yes and will stick up for what's trying to be done. You won't get an argument from me,I'm not here for.that..

Unfortunately my opinion of Union FS is being coloured by the 3 who seem to have taken it on themselves to be reps.

I don't think I've come across a twat at all.Just want this to happen.

As did The Fosse Boys.

I think we all want this to be a success but some are coming over as a bit evangelical about it, that's why I would prefer only Union FS to post.

AndWhat?

Yourself

2 out of 3 are managing to alienate people.

Well I hope I'm not,I'm pretty positive about it all really and have said so in many a post but I guess people don't react to them posts.

How can I make myself known to UFS so I can get an SK1 seat next season?

Just drop them an email mate letting them know who you are, their email address is in the first post.

Read the very first post m8,it explains all there. And you don't technically need to make yourself known there just advising about the when's and the where's.

Behave.

And you feel that you can tell me to behave

I'd imagine that Union FS are hoping that you stop posting, I certainly hope they are.

Whatever your opinion is of someone you'll help Umion FS and its cause by keeping quiet.

I think it's great that people (in general!) are being so positive about the whole thing. Some are a little too vociferous in their support but I think the vast majority of them have good intentions at heart - they simply want to be positive that a fans' group is showing signs of success.

I would encourage Union FS' supporters to continue to publicise the group - at the end of the day that's how it will grow - but not at the expense of other fans OR by getting drawn into silly squabbles with people where it is clear to all that there is no understanding of the group's objectives.

We have such touchy fans, it absolutely unbelievable.

'Elitist' ffs lol

Even cityfanlee hasn't done or said anything that non-UFS members haven't had their say about (re: atmosphere) on here in the last few years.

If you don't want to be part of UFS, you don't have to.

That doesn't mean you have to slag them off if one of their members critcises L1.

There's nothing more UFS could do to appease fellow supporters.

Grow up, honestly.

They've done a fantastic job so far, whether you want to be involved or not.

Whilst I have no problem with the whole idea and concept and respect what ufs are trying to do and fact they have picked the corner part of sk1 which has next to no season ticket holders.

And for those concerned about getting tickets on a game by game basis I think you will still have plenty of chance there will be seats either side of the block and further round in sk1. Afterall in the last 3 or 4 seasons I think I have only seen sk1 sell out for man city, forest and Scunthorpe.

I can see that the perception of this idea has quickly changed and whilst I personally wouldn't want to piss on the parade there seems to be a lot of unofficial spokes people for the group on here most not helping the cause.

and whilst I also can understand the reasons for approaching the club it seems there are many similar perceptions that dogged the fosse boys.

Like it or not many people see the club involvement as a negative. It makes it seem stage managed. A similar problem to the fb again.

Whilst we all admire the atmosphere on the continent I think in this country we still feel that atmosphere should be organic and not choreographed.

I hope the idea takes off as it would be great to have a group backing the team for 90mins again like under o'neill as the next season maybe a difficult one.
