jordanlcfc Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Thought we was loud today from where I was sitting (upper tier), decent atmosphere
Matt Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Thought we was loud today from where I was sitting (upper tier), decent atmosphere Seemed that way. I was in the lower tier. Again, going from the Blackburn away thread in the away games and travel section they seemed to think it was better in the lower tier last year so thought I was onto a winner
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Wasn't bad atmosphere around where we were but wasn't great all round. Rarely have good atmosphere though with big numbers? Bit before the game in the concourse was great though, however it lead me to break my glasses again

Bit before the game in the concourse was great though, however it lead me to break my glasses again Yeah that was good, very good. Also, Anderlecht? Where were they? I didn't see any of the Anderlecht fans, were they there or was it just a rumour they were coming. They may have been there but as far as I know I didn't see or hear them, feel they could have made for a better atmosphere. If they were there obviously i'm wrong.
billyn88 Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 We were stuck over to the left of the lower tier near the front but even with that I thought it was pretty flat. I agree I think we struggle with larger numbers, I could only hear one pocket of louder singers miles away from us. Smaller numbers can actually be a bonus. Millwall (just over 1k) was great, lots of humour and easier to get stuff going. Helped that we won as well! I wasn't lucky enough to get to forest last season but one if the best recent away atmospheres I can remember was palace away last season. The overhang really helped to make noise.
Stadt Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Yeah that was good, very good. Also, Anderlecht? Where were they? They were supposed to be coming but one of their main lads daughter died.
Tom17LCFC Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Was in the upper tier and thought it was fairly decent, not the best but far from the worst.
Harry - LCFC Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Decent in the upper tier IMO. People say our atmosphere's shit every week to be honest, I've just accepted that that's what people are always going to say it. Dunno if it's true or not.

Millwall was absolutely awful. That and Brighton were as flat as a pancake. The standard of our away ends this year has been a lot better than the last few years but there's still room for improvement. I thought in that concourse that it was going to be something special and whilst it wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't something special either. Our fans are a funny bunch. Brilliant in the pubs. Brilliant on the train. Brilliant in the concourse. Often very average inside the ground. Very, very weird. Decent in the upper tier IMO. People say our atmosphere's shit every week to be honest, I've just accepted that that's what people are always going to say it. Dunno if it's true or not. To be honest, I actually thought we weren't that good at Forest and yet Jonny Boy posted that video up, I know it was only about 15 seconds but we looked on a par with Leeds in that.
Harry - LCFC Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 To be honest, I actually thought we weren't that good at Forest and yet Jonny Boy posted that video up, I know it was only about 15 seconds but we looked on a par with Leeds in that. I went to the Conference play off final a while ago and the opposing fans appeared louder during their goal celebrations despite having about a third the amount of fans. It's weird but I think being 'in' the noise makes it harder to judge. With other people shouting right next perhaps it's harder to hear the away end as a whole - something you only get by being on the outside? Dunno, just guessing really.
Matt Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 They were supposed to be coming but one of their main lads daughter died. Oh dear, horrible news, RIP.
1964FOX Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Andelect didn't come as it turned out to be too expensive. Unless I've not been told then the girl that died referred to is my mate's step daughter who was ran over a few weeks ago, he was at yesterdays game. The atmosphere sounded like it was good in the upper tier but it was hard work trying to get it going in the lower tier.
dpjfox Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Awaste of money yet again ..90% of fans stand throughout the 90 minutes preventing seated fans watching the game.. disgracefull
Soup Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Awaste of money yet again ..90% of fans stand throughout the 90 minutes preventing seated fans watching the game.. disgracefull Disgraceful is a bit harsh, the majority want to stand at away games.Unless they start having two different sections, which I don't think will happen, I can't see it changing.
Matt Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Awaste of money yet again ..90% of fans stand throughout the 90 minutes preventing seated fans watching the game.. disgracefull Plenty were sitting down the front. I'm sure if you tried you'd have found some empty seats you could sit in. I understand it could be frustrating for people who need to sit but even so its common sense generally. Standers move up, sitters move down. I had a ticket down the front but didn't go to that seat I was about half way up the stand.

I agree with Brighton, that was dire but I think this just highlights the difference depending on where you end up as I really thought Millwall was OK. It was terrible the previous two visits granted.
Leicester1884Filbert Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 I really believe that the first 5 rows should be sitting only, and the rest should be standing only. Then nobody can have any complains.
MC Prussian Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 very poor away today, Yeovil equally as bad vocals wise. No, we definitely weren't very poor at Blackburn yesterday. I wonder where you've been sitting all match. There were patches of quietness, but all in all, we were pretty vocal (especially in the first half).
Maybes Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Upper tier sounded good. I was halfway up on the right hand side in the lower. There was a group of 20/30 of us trying to get things going but to no avail half of the time.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Awaste of money yet again ..90% of fans stand throughout the 90 minutes preventing seated fans watching the game.. disgracefull You stand at away games.
Soar Fox Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 You stand at away games. What about if you aren't physically able to stand for 90 minutes?
Matt Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 What about if you aren't physically able to stand for 90 minutes? I'm not saying it's right (or wrong) but common sense would suggest standing for the 90 minutes is likely to occur at an away game. It shouldn't come as any surprise put it that way. Like I say not saying that makes it alright but I did say earlier in this thread he should have simply just gone down the front, the first 4 or 5 rows were sitting and i'm sure he'd have found some seats free to sit in.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 What about if you aren't physically able to stand for 90 minutes? You go to the front of the stand.
