Booing

I know we haven't had much of an excuse to boo in a while but I bet if we'd have lost on Tuesday, there would have been boos. I thought this was relevant and showed that booing does have an effect on players. "I have bought my ticket so I deserve to boo" - Is not an attitude that helps the team and you are better off at home.

"At half-time, the players were talking more about fans booing them than the game. I had to make sure they kept focused on the field."

Where do West Ham expect to be in the league after booing a victory. Regardless of what style of football they play there in 11th position and relatively safe from relegation. If they tried to play a more attractive style i dont think they would be any higher in the league. In fact i think they will be lower as i dont believe they have the players to play the more modern style. Swansea play the supposed 'attractive style' of football and look where they are in the league. Im not a big fan of allardyce but surely he doesnt deserve this kind of treatment. If i was him i would keep them in the prem and walk away from such a woeful club with idiotic fans.

£3.5M a year helps

I can totally understand their frustration and if Sam Allardyce came anywhere near my club it would drive me away.

Really? Their frustration of being 11th in the premier league rather than fighting relegation?

IMO they have no grounds for frustration rather they should be relieved

The only thing more predictable than people booing is people moaning about people booing

I was booing the people that were booing.

It's a massive lie of course, I wasn't even there

At least they aren't fickle.

Probably people who are fed up with the bare minimum being aimed for and charged through the nose for the privilege of watching it.

I could maybe understand it if they were a big team who were expected to do well(man utd) but they're not

Two of my mates in London are Hammers fans, I'll Facebook them now. They all absolutely hate big Sam.

It's more to do with the style they play, plenty of fans rang into phone-ins saying they've been bored all season. It doesn't help that their flair players have been overlooked and the game plan revolves around hitting Andy Carroll's head.

So they'd be happy playing attractive football if they were bottom of the league and facing relegation? It's my understanding that they've had a lot of injuries this season so I think they should count their blessings. They've been a yo-yo club for most of their recent history so surely stability should be their aim?

Is 'the West Ham way' based on them ever playing good football or do they just feel like they're owed something?

Do you honestly think we're any different? People were ready to boo after the Yeovil game without a doubt.

Haha, I ask my West Ham supporting mate this all the time. What IS the West Ham way? When did they last play it because in my life time they've always been pretty much a yoyo team.

Strikes me as some self-congratulatory nonsense used to delude themselves that they're some giant club when they aren't.

When clubs treat fans like customers, they'll act like customers.

Good point that in fairness.

Here's Baz's (West Ham season ticket holder) response to my email of "why you booing then mate" Ignore the spelling etc I've just copied and pasted from my inbox.

Everyone in the ground has just had enough of him, he is a **** playing dire football. Everyones fed up and sick of it.

He's made going to Upton Park a chore, its just crap, every game we are shit, if we lose 3-0 we are shit, if we win 2-0 we are shit, the standard of football doesnt change, get big men on up front get the ball to the full backs and get the to punt it up to the strikers and hope something falls our way, we dont need a midfield, in fact i couldnt even tell you who our midfielders are. Just a couple of blokes who have to make the odd tackle and when they get the ball to give it back to the defence to punt it up front.

I dont even care if we win, lose or draw anymore, whatever happens you know you will be sat there bored off your tits wanting to hang yourself.

He was on about scrapping and playing with 10men. Apparently he said to nolan at the end of the game. **** the fans, he'll do it even more now. Even Stoke have moved on from this shit and we're still playing it. We're safe now so at least I dont have to go to the rest of the games, will stay in the beer garden and watch soccer saturday.

Ask him if he'd be happier of they played good football and were struggling against relegation?

I remember under MON we didn't play attractive football a lot of the time. And what about the old Wimbledon team? They all played to their strengths

Why does playing good football equate to being in relegation trouble? Southampton have had no trouble. Newcastle are doing ok.

Also, MO'N wasn't on £3.5 million a year to avoid relegation as the barest minimum. Yes, their strengths which revolved around 1 player being fit (then when he was suspended they actually started winning games). If I was a West Ham fan I'd be wondering what was going on.

Southampton and Newcastle have got better quality players than west ham. West ham have played to their strengths this season and with the amount of injuries they've had this season have done well to be where they are

West ham are not a big club and haven't been for a very long time. For their fans to boo after a victory is embarrassing
