The Doctor Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 We do the issue here is you're so thick you don't understand we already know that You do ey? So posts like this: Find it hard to believe it is out of his hands he is out of contract and the club are not going to not offer him another so it'll be completely in his hands what he does next? Aren't saying that it's in his hands and completely contrary to what I was saying (as well as also arguing he won't get a new contract). Before you start calling people thick, look in the mirror: your posts in here have no said anything even close to understanding he doesn't offer himself a new contract, you've argued against that constantly.
Jimothy Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 That may be the case and as I only have a casual interest in FFP and the accounting of the club I would not want to go out on a limb either way, but it may not be as simple as it appears. I do think it's fair to say that the owners will be a little wary and maybe NP comes first. This is also a good example of the position a lot of players will find themselves in. The Reading manager was saying on radio Berks that they had players that in the past would have had deals done by now, but things are different now. It should be interesting to see how this works out, and I do feel that it would be wrong for the club to sign up players before the managers position is sorted. As long as Logan is not the starting keeper on the first day of the new season I will stand by what the club decides. I think you're going off on a bit of a tangent from what was actually being discussed, and are almost talking like we can't afford to keep both Pearson and Kasper. We need a keeper next year, Kasper doesn't need to be bought, he's the cheapest option anyway. What was actually be talked about is if we'd offer him a new deal now or wait until the end of out financial year (May I think). All that I said was we can offer him that new deal anytime as long as the contract starts after may it won't affect FFP, as people were saying we can't offer him anything now.

No said? Do you mean not said possibly? Why should my posts explain my understanding that he doesn't give himself his own contact why would anyone with half a brain think that in the first place except for you for some bizarre reason has assumed thats what we think? I really think you should leave this now or alternatively we just meet up in person to discuss it further because talking on this level publicly is getting embarrassing
AyewJoking Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 keeping tight lipped cos he knows he may get offered silly money from another club. His agent will surely hold us to ransom though and he'll be our highest paid player no doubt.
brisfox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Not sure how FFP works. However, I am sure it goes through to the end of May. My guess is the reason why a lot of the players and manager hasn't signed is that when they sign, they get signing on bonuses and they would count towards this years figures.
Finnegan Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Assuming his new contract starts after 31 May, FFP is irrelevant now. Signing on bonus? Agent fees?
Guest ttfn Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Signing on bonus? Agent fees? You can probably capitalise them
Jimothy Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 You can probably capitalise themSIGNING ON BONUS? AGENT FEES?Sorry, terrible joke
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 SIGNING ON BONUS? AGENT FEES? Sorry, terrible joke Where as promotion bounses wouldn't be funny and could cause issues with FFP Also don't forget that kasper want signed by NP so he might be happy to look else where for a keeper
TheUltimateWinner Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Where as promotion bounses wouldn't be funny and could cause issues with FFP Also don't forget that kasper want signed by NP so he might be happy to look else where for a keeper Kasper and Nigel are highly regarded by eachother, I'm pretty sure it was only last year Kasper said Nigel is the best manager he has ever worked under.

He said you could capitalise them, I was making a poor joke!

You do realise that this interview was done mid-March time at the earliest. We hadn't secured promotion before this interview, and as he has done all season he's always put getting promoted over talk of his new contract.

Narborough_fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 That was only when Kasper was asked about his future. This article was written this morning. No it wasn't it's taken from the FourFourTwo April magazine that was released on 2nd April.
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/9251280/leicester-promoted-to-premier-league Always think how well he speaks, and how honest and intelligent is answers are. He seems very level headed.
docho66 Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 There's absolutely no reason why the board nor Schmeichel can't agree terms. I think the signature will be made within the week. Maybe before the Brighton game - double celebration! #dontsellKasper
Kitchandro Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I'm struggling to think who would go for him tbh. I don't think he's a top Premiership keeper. More than happy for him to play for us though.
norfolk-fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Not sure if been mentioned, but when listened to his interview on sky sports on Saturday about being promoted he said something along the lines of always wanting to play in premier league and can't wait for it and I thought he also let something slip that signalled that he will be with us next season
1972 Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I'm struggling to think who would go for him tbh. I don't think he's a top Premiership keeper. More than happy for him to play for us though. Ridiculous comment. Why would you be happy for him to play for us if he's not not top quality? He will have a number of clubs wanting him but I want him here. No question in my my mind about his quality.
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I don't think I've seen a keeper save so many one on ones.
katieakita Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Why would we not offer him a contract? do people think we will let him go and replace him with Conrad! Seems really happy to be part of the set up and having invested so much to get us promoted it doesn't make sense for the owners not to offer him a new contract.

He will have a number of clubs wanting him but I want him here. No question in my my mind about his quality. I'm not sure it's so ridiculous. Kasper is a fantastic keeper in the championship but how many clubs wanted him last season from the premiership? Refused to pay a measly £4m for him and IMHO he hasn't hit the heights this year of that year and has been more error prone. Kasper has been coy over his future and hasn't said 'I want to sign' Steven Gerrard 2005 style, he simply got put in the spot by stringer. I think he is being a bit clever and waited to see what's around before committing. The difference now, last season and January is that we are now a premier league side and 2.5m that we were offered for kasper isn't such a big amount, and we CAN attract better goalkeepers.

Of course we will offer him a new contract. But will he sign it?
BoneDog Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I'm pretty sure he'll stay for a while and be part of these exciting times. Can't see why he'd want to leave at all at the moment.
