Shadyman Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Martyn waghorn made his loan move to Wigan permanent. How much did we get for him?
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Ive heard from my club source that it was a stack of French porn and a tin of gravy
Jace Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Nothing I would imagine because they already agreed the loan till the end of the season and by that time he will be out of contract anyway so no transfer fee would be required
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Nothing I guess. What is true is that Waghorn is playing very well for them. What is it? 4 goals in 5 games or summat? Good move for all parties.
AyewJoking Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 when exactly did his contract run out? why would it run out before the season is over? what if he was our top scoreror something?

robjohnson1234 Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 He signed on a pre-contract so Wigan could pick him up for nothing, if he agreed the contract. He was out of contract at the end of the season with us, like most of our team.
Jace Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 so it was a mutal termination? Not really we just sent him out on loan for the remainder of his contract only benefit of that really would have been Wigan would be paying his wages rather than us probably for FFP reasons
The Year Of The Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I wish him all the best. Cracking lad and I think a decent striker. Its a massive shame it didn't work out for him here after his brilliant loan season to us. Thanks and all the best Waggy
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 He simply was not good enough for our Championship squad, and would have been completely out of his depth. Best of luck to him, anyway.

I'd still dispute that he just needed a long run in the first 11 and he'd have done fine. But nugent and Vardy have been undroppable so can't have any complaints really
katieakita Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Wish the lad well but he just didnt figure in our plans and may or may not have happened means nothing, Nigel definately got it right this season.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I wonder if Waggy is really pleased by all these gestures of goodwill..?
docho66 Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I assume that his contract expired on 30/06. Leicester, Wigan and Waghorn will have had a pre contract arranged that stated Waghorn could move for free/ pay off his monthly loan payments (again, assuming there were any payments) in a lump sum. It's a strange arrangement though, I must admit.
jamesmilner Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Nothing strange . If you were told you were going to be made redundant the company you're with can't stop you looking for another job .you wouldn't wait until you finished to find a job with someone else you'd go straight into another job . It's your right . He's just made sure his employment is constant like you and I would . He's allowed like others in our team to talk to other clubs since January as his hasn't a job . We won't get a bean . Good luck to him .
Agent Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 when exactly did his contract run out? why would it run out before the season is over? what if he was our top scoreror something? I wouldn't have put that past Andrew Neville.
Bert Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I'd imagine we'd have received a fee for his loan deal. Then agreed to terminate his contract so he was free to join Wigan. No coincidence this all came about after we'd played them was it?

hackneyfox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Only allowed to talk to others if they're from another country actually. How many threads have we had about our players, whose contracts end this season, and how if we don't sign them they'll talk to other clubs. Nobody mentioned it being only foreign clubs at the time, would have killed all those threads.
