Stuliasz Posted 18 April 2014 Posted 18 April 2014 McCormack & Vardy would be a very decent front two. They have pretty much everything between them apart from an aerial threat, although hopefully we won't be playing with a style that requires that. Still think Nuge and Wood could do a job when called upon as squad players too.
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Been to Leeds Forest today, he was awful. No movement, struggled to get into the game, hes not very quick either. Would be a waste if we were too spend several million on him.

Would be a waste if we were too spend several million on him. Just goes to show how opinions on a game can vastly differ. I remember in the first half when he ran back to his own box, disposessed derbyshire and began an attack all on his own. He was also constantly dropping deep and working the channels. None of our forwards, or any forward in the league would have looked any better in that leeds side today. It amazes me how people rave about vardy/nuge and ings/vokes yet mccormack has more goals, in a side where he is basically the only threat. Must be so easy to mark him out of a game really, hardly gonna be scared about the attacking pace of tonge, or the attacking full backs of leeds (especially when one is a center half). Could see him linking well behind vardy.
sdb Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 I watched the majority of the game and thought he did pretty well. Certainly didn't look lazy to me. That said, I think we could find better.

WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Based on one game? What if you'd seen a game he scored in or played well, as he clearly has on numerous occasions this season?been too nearly a dozen Leeds games this season, cousin is a Leeds fan, so ive seen him a fair few times this season. He goes missing in games quite easily, guess hes playing in a poor Leeds team, and doesnt get what he would if he was in a better footballing side. But he'll end up at West Ham or somewhere.

Didnt say he was lazy, just poor movement in attacking third, he did have to drop back alot like you say, then again, leeds tried to play with 4 central midfielders, so no wide men running in behind..

Surely thats exactly the level of club we'll be pitching ourselves at when trying to convince players to sign for us? A midtable prem side... In other words, he could very well be a good fit for a side like ours
Sharpe's Fox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 I think he'd be a decent signing for us, at least in terms of superior to Nugent in that withdrawn striker position.

dmayne7 Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/newcastle-cardiff-and-leicester-set-to-bid-for-ross-mccormack/? £10 Million :vichai: I'd sooner have Ulloa for that than McCormack. Wouldn't be a great investment.
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 Who on earth wants Ulloa? Seriously? Deeney's the one I'd like to take. Strong and powerful and can score all sorts of goals. And the price-tag would probably be realistic. I like McCormack... but not for ten million. :vichai:

The 27-year-old scored 29 goals in an eventful season which looks set to take another twist off the pitch with Leeds owner Massimo Cellino facing a winding-up petition from Sport Capital on June 9. Other creditors are also demanding unpaid monies. Leeds rejected offers from Cardiff and West Ham in January and will demand around £10million this window. However, the offers that come in will be around £6m and the player could ask to go if the unrest at Elland Road escalates. Derby will only bid should they gain promotion but Leicester, who also like Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa, are keen.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 Worried that he couldn't cut it at Premier level. We must have proven top level players. Having said that, he may join a top club and do well. Too much of a gamble though.

Too much of a gamble though. There is not one championship striker capable of leading our attack in the premiership next season. if we do our shopping there, it will be a very short stay with the big boys.

ibbosuk Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 Wonder if Saints and Palace said the same about Lambert, Rodriguez and Gayle. We don't need to buy untried untested player from the championship, who has never played in the premiership, you choose three players that have come off, there are plenty more that haven't. A Good quality European player with international experience playing in one of the top leagues, is what I am looking for (and expecting). Lets not blow it.

There have been plenty of them also that flopped, what we need is a goalscorer. It doesn't matter what league they come from .

Yeah, because all of the good quality European players with international experience come off in the Premiership.
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 If QPR don't go up I'd like to see Nedum Onuha at City. Him and Wes would be a strong pairing
crazylegs1984 Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 I would happily have him here at Leicester as long as he didn't do a beckford he had all the bells and whistles but just didn't cut it
