fuchsntf Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Has anybody got the highlights from yesterday.I've not been able to get any feed from anywhere.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 FL show? They'll be on the clubs Facebook/twitter page soon anyway
AKCJ Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Just watching those highlights... James' crossbar shot does actually cross the line.
Vlad the Fox Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 A player celebrates scoring against his old team and they still applauded/like him shocker.
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 I think James shot is pretty deceptive. Not convinced it crosses the line in all honesty. Happens too fast.
LCFC31 Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 GTFs goal is incredible. From what I can see, it doesn't look like James' shot crosses the line.

jammie82uk Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Just watching those highlights... James' crossbar shot does actually cross the line. Looks like it actually hits bang on the line
Guest ttfn Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 It does hit the line on the line, but it got me thinking... Perhaps somebody more scientifically minded than I could explain whether it is possible (within the realms of a shot which could realistically occur) for a ball to hit the underside of the bar, cross the line whilst still in the air and then hit the line when it lands and bounce out? Understandably all people seem to look for is what happens when the ball lands, but obviously it doesn't matter whether the ball is in the air or on the ground - if it's in it's in.

It'd curl inwards rather than outwards. Think of free-kick takers and how they get the ball to move.

Harry - LCFC Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Yeah I haven't explained it that well and probably couldn't do much better without diagrams. Makes sense in my head, maybe someone else will do a better job.
shade Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 it's all to do with the angular momentum of the ball along the x and y axis in relation to the rotational direction of the ball on it's own axis.
fuchsntf Posted 27 April 2014 Author Posted 27 April 2014 Just watching those highlights... James' crossbar shot does actually cross the line. Thanks for posting the goals, my streaming kept breaking up, so I seen alot but 'sods law' kept intervening. So for this weekend Andy king has a break and you get to handle the crown jewels, (take that how you like..) James crossbar shot..A German friend called me, hes bit of a geek, so he put it through a program he has at work. He couldnt show me or send it, or post it into this site, but he confirms NO goal, not over the line, he did 3 quick graphs. he says, from the 3 virtual angles he made up, the best he could give ,on the line leaning towards goal but still on the line. The other 2 ,tendence just before the line. And cos like we cant forget the war, he cant forget 66, so he says it was a Wembly Goal, with the right descision this time. Mind you he wasnt even born then......Just met up for a beer.. Then I shot him, ............unfortunately, only with a sweet paper flicked from my fingers
Fox Ulike Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Shame the highlights don't show the build up to the first goal. As i recall, we hit them on the break with 3 or 4 players making nice touches before it even came through to Dyer.

I would guess The obscene amount of rotational spin required to make it happen would not be possible for a human being

You should mention to him that if the ref gave the handball that led to their equaliser then we wouldn't have needed extra time.
