Guest Kopfkino Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 Start uni in September, currently weighing up whether a season ticket would be worth it or not. I want my away priority more than anything
maynefox Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I'm actually pissed off. I was very excited of going to Norwich v Leicester and having my mates up .... no chance of that now!I'm going to try and sneak the odd London away game and get cheap home tickets when I am back home.
Exeter Fox Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I'm lucky if I get to more than 5-6 a year at this point, I look for away matches mostly.
Filbert's Friend Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 I don't get to many games - partly because I go to uni in York and partly because I have rugby matches on most Saturdays at uni.
DB11 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 I've got a season ticket and try and get back as much as possible when I can. Where I can't, my brother just goes instead. It's not bad for me from Manchester to be fair. Sky have done me over a couple of times, so have certain night games, but I went to 13 home games and 8 away games this season, around the same figure last year as well. A season ticket for 13 home games? Doesn't seem to make much sense
NewburyFox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 A season ticket for 13 home games? Doesn't seem to make much sense Says that his brother goes when he can't go, I assume the cost of the ST is split somehow.
Lukey Boi Posted 7 May 2014 Author Posted 7 May 2014 Where are you going Lukey Boi, by the way? Excuse the name... Firmed Liverpool which is a treck
Stuliasz Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 I was another Sheffielder with a season ticket for four years (03/04 to 06/07). I came back almost every home game for absolute dross through most of that time so there's no fecking excuse for others within travelling distance!
ScouseFox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 A season ticket for 13 home games? Doesn't seem to make much sense using the kop as an example, if your average ticket cost is about 30 quid and you go to 13 games you'd be paying 390 quid just for match tickets. a renewal on a season ticket in that block for last season was £399. pay the extra £9 for your seat being there, not having to buy another ticket and getting away priority? makes sense to me. so even if it was purely your season ticket and you didn't lend it to anyone else you'd be around £9 out of pocket but get away priority and other benefits. you could lend it out, sell it or swap it for more tickets to a separate game for the 10 matches you miss. not too bad. and he wouldn't have had to spend about 30 of the last 36 hours online or the phone trying to get a seat for next year, either
Fox92 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 A season ticket for 13 home games? Doesn't seem to make much sense As I said, the games I don't make my brother goes instead. What's the average price of a ticket? £22? £20? It probably still works out cheaper. And I get priority for away games, which is going to be more key next season in the Premier League.
Lukey Boi Posted 7 May 2014 Author Posted 7 May 2014 My ticket goes from U18 to U22 next year so don't know if there's any point in me renewing. Price difference is huge. May just go to the odd game against West Brom & Swansea
DB11 Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 As I said, the games I don't make my brother goes instead. What's the average price of a ticket? £22? £20? It probably still works out cheaper. And I get priority for away games, which is going to be more key next season in the Premier League. I've had the benefit of paying £5 a game through DMU, so it seemed expensive
Fox92 Posted 9 May 2014 Posted 9 May 2014 I've had the benefit of paying £5 a game through DMU, so it seemed expensive .. I understand now then! To be fair we get offered cheaper tickets for Manchester City's home games so it swings both ways!
Fox42 Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 I'm at DMU and got a season ticket. Happy days ...Shit, I just realised DMU students had priority of getting discounted tickets. Sod that at least mine are guaranteed I suppose
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 What away days are people looking forward to next season?
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 I was plastic when at Uni.. Durham was too far in my crappy old car to get back for games. I attended the away games in the NE though (St. James, Roker, Ayresome) and always wore my City shirt for Football practice.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 What away days are people looking forward to next season? Really, really want to go to Anfield.
The Doctor Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 You DMU and Manchester students getting cheap tickets for Leicester and Man City - I hate you. We get offers for Guiseley AFC.
Tom17LCFC Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 I'm at trent and had a ST for the 3 years I've been here. No hassle at all coming back apart from the friday night rush.
Father Ted Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 I'm in second year at Loughborough at the minute, but off on placement down in Hampshire next year, so missing out Not too far from the London fixtures though, so should be able to get to a few more aways this year Likewise, second year at Lough Uni, placement next year, starting in Manchester it seems but still have my season ticket and intend on coming back every weekend!
