LCCFox96 Posted 7 May 2014 Share Posted 7 May 2014 Cresswell seems the obvious solution and I'd be more than happy if we signed him. Umtiti is an exciting proposition too. Personally I've always like Emilio Izaguirre up at Celtic. Would love to see him playing his trade in the EPL as I think he could do better than Scottish football. TJB-fox Posted 7 May 2014 Share Posted 7 May 2014 What is the obsession with Neil Taylor, since hes come back from a bad injury he's looked a bomb scare. Cresswell is blatantly the obvious choice and his left peg is simply brilliant. If we do go into the market for a big target man thats strong aerially (like some have said we might) then AC could whip some quality into the box im sure
LAprice_ Posted 7 May 2014 Share Posted 7 May 2014 Some credit needs to be given to Schlupp. As a 'striker' he sure is pretty decent at left-back. With a full pre-season training as a LB he might be the suitable first choice.
Tielemans63 Posted 8 May 2014 Share Posted 8 May 2014 When Nige said he wanted to move quickly while others were still involved in games I was hoping he was referring to Cresswell. Get him in while the other interested clubs are still negotiating the end of the season.
WhispyWizard Posted 8 May 2014 Share Posted 8 May 2014 And he's French That seals it then, this guys a definite buy Spoke to an Ipswich ST holder today, he claims that Cresswell is packing his bags as we speak, predicts he will be here in a few weeks. Cant see this one happening, far far too popular, it will end up in a bidding war that we won't win.

With a full pre-season training as a LB he might be the suitable first choice. Jeff has done a brilliant job at left back but we do need to strengthen up on the LB department. Konch has probably one year left in him, so we need someone to come in to fill his boots. If Cresswell or anybody else is to come in at LB then it gives Schlupp some competition. Plus Schlupp could play on the wing as well as up front.

cjslcfc Posted 8 May 2014 Share Posted 8 May 2014 I'm sure I've seen on here several times that we've been tracking Cresswell for a while. Wouldn't be a surprise at all if he came here. Him and Nick Powell are players I think we've been following with interest. Would love both - although Powell probs on loan
Fosse93 Posted 8 May 2014 Share Posted 8 May 2014 I'm more concerned about us finding a right back. Davide Santon from Newcaste would be a good addition, plays both RB and LB. 2 birds one stone and all that.
80footgiraffe Posted 8 May 2014 Share Posted 8 May 2014 Umtiti has got to be my first choice, Cresswell would still be a great signing

You think that going into the Premier League with Jeff and Konch as your left back options is better than having De Laet and Moore as your right back options? I have no doubt De Laet will make the step up, Moore is not sufficient enough back up to him though IMO, he's a brilliant CB but RB? No. Schlupp will be ok in the prem for me, Konchesky isn't going to set the world alight but he's alright. Ideally we will sign a defender who can play both sides, which is why I suggested Davide Santon, if not him then i'm sure Nige and his team can find a similar player. We have just been promoted we aint man city just yet Cardiff got Medel - if they can pull in players like that after being promoted from a tight, scrappy championship, then why can't we after absolutely dominating the league?
