We are only allowed a squad of 25 next season so unless we sell anyone, there is only 4 more spaces left in squad including current signings

Squad so far:

Keepers: Schmeichel, Hamer, Logan/Smith

Defenders : Morgan, Wasilewski, Moore, Upson, De laet, Schlupp, Konchesky

Midfielder: Hammond, King, Drinkwater, James, Albrighton, Mahrez, Knockaert

Strikers: Vardy, Wood, Taylor-Fletcher, Nugent

I'd go for:

A leftback

A central defender

Another creative midfielder.

I would say another striker but I doubt we will play two strikers much next year, so if we do get another striker, then one who can play wide or deep.

The first two could be the same player.

I think we need a right back, a fast centre back, a central midfielder and a quality striker

To go off on a tangent, I've highlighted the players the average PL fan is likely to have heard of in our squad.

Looking at this squad id say to fill the 25 we need another fullback, midfielder, winger and striker.

That's just the quantity though. Personally id like 2 mids and say bye bye to Hammond however if he is as influential behind the scenes as many seem to believe, and has PL experience(?) I'm happy for him to stay as back up.

I was thinking that Moore and Was can cover right back.

But apart from that, I like your list better than mine !!

I think Upson was a strange signing Tbh, we need a pacey signing to play along side Morgan/Was. I'm not sure Moore is up to the prem ATM.

I would take a punt on Ulloa as a quality striker or even more of a risk would be Van Wolfswinkel (on loan), he didn't do anything at Norwich but was prolific in Portugal and I think Norwich would let us have him on loan with an option to buy at end of season. I think he needs another chance in the prem to prove himself

I would add, knockaert and Moore  to that list, knockaert for the Watford incident, Moore because Fulham bid for him in January

Knocky probably because of the peno miss

De Laet has played for norwich in the prem

I disagree with Wasilewski, I didnt recognise him before he came and folk ive showed the leg break footage to didnt recognise him either

Don't forget Gally and Fuctas (excuse spelling!) I guess some players still may be sold or loaned out but perhaps we won't be signing any more than 4 players now anyway.

Ideally in a squad of 25 you'll want competition for every position plus cover with the remaining 3 places. Which makes:

3 GKS - Schmeichel, Hamer, Logan - COMPLETE

2 RBS - De Laet

2 LBS - Konchesky, Schlupp - COMPLETE (but upgradable)

4 CBS - Moore, Was, Morgan, Upson COMPLETE (but upgradable)

2 RMS - Knocky, Albrighton - COMPLETE

2 LMS - Mahrez

4 CMS - James, Drinkwater, King, Hammond - COMPLETE (but upgradable)

4 ST - Nugent, Vardy, Wood, GTF - COMPLETE (but upgradable)

Which leaves us with a need at RB plus another winger for definite to make 23. With both these positions sorted as far as starters go the signings here would be loanees or squad players only. Makes the Billy Jones link make sense.

Leaves us with 2 upgrades to fill. I would suggest that would be where the money is spent. Ideally on a target man to hold up the ball and bring our strong midfield into the attack and a hard tackling defensive midfielder to break up the play.

As Moore won't need to be registered it would then also make sense to add into the mix a pacey CB to shore up another need and add competition.

For arguments sake and taking the more exciting or realistic transfer links so far that could see us looking like this;

3 GKS - Schmeichel, Hamer, Logan

2 RBS - De Laet, Jones

2 LBS - Konchesky, Schlupp - (Umtiti - unregistered)

4 CBS - Was, Morgan, Upson, Dawson (Moore - unregistered)

2 RMS - Knocky, Albrighton

2 LMS - Mahrez, Redmond

5 CMS - James, Drinkwater, King, Hammond, Krychowiak

5 ST - Nugent, Vardy, Wood, GTF, Aboubakar (couldn't think of anyone else tall and playing in France)

Interesting topic.

We don't of course have to get a 25 man squad for the sake of it. We managed with 20-21 players last year in the championship and that is playing more games. However I think it would be wise to bolster it up to that level for options. I'm sure three or four will be loaned out back to the championship at some point to give them games.

I think we have got in some good squad players so far in the three we have signed and particularly Upson will bring his big game experience in to help the young lads, but I don't see him starting many games.

I would expect once Kasper and Nugent's contracts are sorted, we may be see a quiet period before we look to bring in 3 or 4 who are going to be automatic starters.

Priority for me is a quality striker at this level. I can see maybe a foreign import coming in at better value.

We need a new left back. I would go for Cresswell at Ipswich.

We need another defender with some pace, possibly able to slot in at right back as cover if De Laet is out.

We need another central midfielder as I am convinced Dean Hammond wont be the answer at

this level and I have my reservations on Andy King too. Someone with physical presence.
