Tevez Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Alliance Division 1 next season! How's other teams prep going? White Eagles back in the Alliance League also?!
JimmyB Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Suspect you guys will make the step up pretty comfortably! You added to the squad at all? Premiership again for us and from what I've heard we are the alliance 3rd seeds for that Premier Cup thingy! Times must be tough! I managed to get a team together for 2 of the 6 friendlies that I arranged over the summer, comfortably losing both games. 1 to a division 1 team, the other to a division 4 team. We could be in a spot of bother this season!

Fatty Arbuckle Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 I assume this is still the current Sunday league thread...couldn't see a 15-16 one anywhere. Was just wondering if anyone knew of any Sunday teams around Blaby/Whetstone that need players for this season. I played Saturdays and Sundays for years but since moving out this way and having kids a couple of years ago I've not been involved. Would love to get playing again if anyone knows of anywhere. Edit: I should add, nowhere of a particularly high quality....I can play but I'm not 19 anymore. Then again if Cambiasso can do it at 34 then I'm sure I can!

Blaby United, division 6 of the alliance league play on Dorothy Avenue, Glen Parva.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Good to see you on Saturday briefly Manny! Was an absolute pleasure to get twisted up by Steve Hart and Phil Gibson also If it helps heals the wounds, the other Sileby Aths team won the tournament!! Ha shit I thought that was you. Yeh we had a great team god knows how we didn't win it, quite funny when we got knocked out. To be honest Picko is better than Harty and Gibo. And this has reminded me that Harty owes me £20, thank you very much. Terrible start for us, the admin has been a little lapse and thuse we've not siged all the players we wanted two in time and thus had to play league faviourates first game, took a decent lead as usual 2-0 up and captitualted to 5-2 in the last 70 minute. Last week was just awful we had hardly anybody available, poor performanc and got smashed, thakfully it was the league cup which is a pointless competition for us anyway. Hopefully now everyone is signed we can actually start competing. Finally We've somehow been put in the Vase this year which should be a laugh, although knowing our luck will probably draw pot hunting all stars FC and go out first round.

Soar Fox Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Thanks mate, do you know if they're on the lookout for new players at all? I don't no, though I'm sure if you go to any team on a Sunday who play div 4 or lower and have a chat with someone they'd take you on. Go on the link and this will help you better, tells you where teams play etc http://www.alliancefootballleague.co.uk/Pages/Home/Home.html

Will have a look and then call round a few places on a couple of Sundays. Thanks for your help.
Sparky Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 Need a top drawer Keeper if anyone interested. Not asking for much hey !!
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 Blaby United, division 6 of the alliance league play on Dorothy Avenue, Glen Parva. Are Blaby United Div 6? They look better than that when I watch em.
Soar Fox Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 Are Blaby United Div 6? They look better than that when I watch em. Yes, they were div 8 last season but absolutely romped the league. Never actually watched them but I hear them as I live on the same road. Might pop down one Sunday when they are next at home and have a look.
SystonFox Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 They didn't romp div 7 they finished fourth? They've signed a load of "Sunday superstars" so I hear because a prem or div 1 side folded? The pitch they play on is as steep as old john itself. Cska ressies taken just 2 pts from 3 games. Should been more! First team got beat 3-4 at home to Sileby Athletic yesterday
Bert Posted 21 September 2015 Author Posted 21 September 2015 Are Blaby United Div 6? They look better than that when I watch em.Yeah. A few moans that they shouldn't be in div 6. After a solid start to div 2, my side lost 4-2 to St Marks Old Boys yesterday. Not a good footballing side, but physical and work hard. They simply wanted it more than us. Ref was useless. Ruined the game from pretty much the first kick. Sent one of their lads off first half which just spurred them on more. As daft as it sounds i think we'd have been better with it being 11v11. Still confident that we'll be up there this season.

I'll be with my two girls..a pug and a Yorky Terrier..

First team got beat 3-4 at home to Sileby Athletic yesterday I thought they were in division 8 last season? Maybe I'm wrong, or was did groby town romp the league? Ha ha yeah that pitch is terrible, my old Sunday team played on that pitch for years and we always had teams moaning about the steep. Might get myself back into playing this season I've started to miss it now.
Father Ted Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 Alliance Division 1 next season! How's other teams prep going? White Eagles back in the Alliance League also?! Yep, we're back mate! Left Oadby Athletic in the summer to go back to Eagles. Not quite the team we were before and the Alliance put us in Div 2?! Purely based on the fact we have two lads who once pothunted with NRI and are now well into their 30's. Ridiculous in all honesty. Will be a long hard season for us. Looks like it may well be a battle between yourselves and Oadby in Div 1.
Simo86 Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 Surprised Manny hasn't been on here yet We (Ashby Ivanhoe) won 10-1 on Sunday I might struggle to get back in the team at this rate once I've recovered from injury

Thurnby Rangers should've won it if you ask me they were last seasons best side. Didn't you sign for FCCOL last season? Made a good start themselves in div 8 3 wins from 3 so far

Although we get to play them at least twice more this season

Made a good start themselves in div 8 3 wins from 3 so far There's about 5/6 teams in Div 8 that were in div 7 last season. Yeah I did played about 3 games for them and left. The lads who play for them aren't the type of people I wish to spend time with. I'll probably look to start my own team up next season, got plenty of quality players to play for me, can use St Andrews facilities for home games just need to sort out a sponsor.

We finished 5th in div 7 last season but oddly they put us (Cska Ressies) in div 8 despite not losing any of our good players and signing others. Bizarre decision but we get on with it whatever div we are in. Good luck if you start a new side pal
Father Ted Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 Tevez, what do you know about Willow from your county cup game with them?
