Bert Posted 26 January 2015 Author Posted 26 January 2015 I see Berts lads have Aylestone Lounge in the semis of the County Cup, guaranteed finalist from the Alliance League, I bet they're proud and can't wait to get that orange flag out... If you have much about yourselves you should do them. We lost 3-1 but had a complete mare, keeper and main cb don't turn up from night before, top scorer goes off with a broken shoulder after ten minutes, other cb played with the flu and another left at ht, proper bare bones job and completely outplayed them. Hit the woodwork 4 times, missed 2/3 complete sitters and missed a penalty. Fuming after to be fair, worst refereeing decision Id ever seen at 1-1, our man through on goal, last man cynically hacks him down... Yellow card. As stonewall a red as you will ever see. *(refer back to my first paragraph) If you have good centre backs, you could contain their strikers I reckon. They've got a gobby centre midfielder who has a few bits and keeper very very steady. No players who particularly stand out but a solid unit as one and all of them know what they're doing. Good luck Bert. Thanks mate. We're playing well at the minute. Won 13 out of the last 14. Hoping we'll be able to do them, as long as we take our chances. Missing one of out most improved players who now makes a big difference to our team so that's my main concern. Looking forward to it, we've done really well to get this far so hopefully we can get to HP. Won 6-2 after being 2-0 down at HT yesterday. Getting tight at the top but Tevez's boys have games in hand over everyone and should walk it.
JimmyB Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Lost to Fosse 2-1 yesterday, wasn't much in it I have to say! Fair play to them, good side. (See reaction on Alliance forum!) 4-6-0!
leicester4life Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 How do I go about joining a sunday league side if I'm pretty shit at football? Is there any teams in the low divisions around Wigston?
rico Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 My daughters team Narborough Foxes U14's made it to County Cup Final yesterday in their 1st season
RonnieTodger Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 How do I go about joining a sunday league side if I'm pretty shit at football? Is there any teams in the low divisions around Wigston? There's loads as far as I'm aware mate. http://www.alliancefootballleague.co.uk/Pages/Teams/Teams.html

JimmyB Posted 28 January 2015 Posted 28 January 2015 Sounds like a plan, although we may end up in the same division next season...
Tevez Posted 28 January 2015 Posted 28 January 2015 Sounds like a plan, although we may end up in the same division next season... You may be right, who knows. Prepare for an influx of teams is all I can say!! Alliance League will be massive! Ps and who was that old boy on the side, he was giving me some right shit!!
JimmyB Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 Alliance league is already massive! How many teams we talking!? Enough for us to drop back down to our true level!? Must've been one the lads dads, don't think we had anyone else there, we don't even have a manager! Who was running the line for you!?? Keep up with play man!!

Prem is your true level, you are good at what people struggle with and that's keeping the ball!! Everything I shouted for got disagreed with, even when we got given free kicks. And it was me!! (hand over face) I do apologise, I put it down to the big coat I had on!!

Bert Posted 8 February 2015 Author Posted 8 February 2015 Made it through to the Sunday Shield County Cup final after beating Aylestone Lounge 6-4 AET. 2-0 down, 3-2 up, 4-3 down then equalised last 5 minutes. Both teams were just tiring and we got the crucial first goal in extra time. Scored another goal quickly after which finished the game. Delighted to be in the final and the chance for my lads to play at Holmes Park. They've been fantastic all season and deserve this opportunity. Hopefully it'll be a Foxestalk Derby against Tevez's lot.
Tevez Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 My boys vs Bertys lot in the final!! Can't wait.
Simo86 Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 We finally won a league game on Sunday Winning 4-3 in the Ashby derby after being 2-1 down.....squeaky bum time a bit at the end when they scored with 2 mins left when Manny came on
Soar Fox Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Unlucky to Bert and his lads tonight in the EW fosters cup final against Leicester foxes. They gave it a real go by all accounts and lost to a team that was pot hunting 2 divisions above were they should be.
Bert Posted 28 March 2015 Author Posted 28 March 2015 To be fair, they were head and shoulders above and were fully deserved winners. No complaints on the night, but they shouldn't have really been in that cup in the first place! Time to look forward to the county cup this Thursday against my good pal Tevez's side.

Leicester Foxes won division 1 last season didn't they but then asked to be relegated to division 2. You playing at Holmes Park on Thursday?
FoxSince88 Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Leicester foxes old boys won division 1 last season, Leicester foxes are a newly formed team that went straight in division 2 and smashed it to peices. Not bad for the first season
Soar Fox Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Leicester foxes old boys won division 1 last season, Leicester foxes are a newly formed team that went straight in division 2 and smashed it to peices. Not bad for the first season So what happened to Foxes old boys?
Bert Posted 28 March 2015 Author Posted 28 March 2015 Leicester Foxes won division 1 last season didn't they but then asked to be relegated to division 2. You playing at Holmes Park on Thursday? Yep, completely pulled the wool over the leagues eyes apparently. Theyll be in the prem next season. Yeah it's holmes park for us again on Thursday mate.

CosbehFox Posted 30 March 2015 Posted 30 March 2015 Yep, completely pulled the wool over the leagues eyes apparently. Theyll be in the prem next season. Yeah it's holmes park for us again on Thursday mate. What's the odds on them falling apart in the summer or early doors next season? It's criminal. Such a turn off for all the lads what want to play footy.
