In actual fact it's because they are nothing but typical pot hunters who are scared of actually being in a division where they won't walk it every week.

Division 4 winners division 3 winners divion 2 winners and division 2 winners in the space of 5 seasons if I remember rightly. Not bad going for a bunch of muppets

Don't get me wrong Leicester Foxes are a decent side, they gave us a real good hiding. But not finishing in at least the Billy Walton semi's and their County Cup Semi's?!?! Is it a real good season for them? I think having a Referee that refs in EMCL/Senior League that manages them is wrong. But good luck to them, hope they don't fold. Think they could win the Prem with that side.

For the real football lovers, My Sileby Athletic side take on Bert's Huncote. Going to be weird being next to each other in the dug out!

Can't wait mate. Should be a great game.

Pot hunters are the scum of Sunday league football. If your desperate for a collection of cheap trophies get yourself down the car boot on a Sunday morning.

Spot on. The game at Sunday League level is about enjoyment and if you win something it's a massive bonus. I don't see what a team gets out of being head and shoulders above everyone in their league and winning 3 or 4-0 every week. It just completely ruins the competition for all involved.

Was on the pitch next to Fosse & Star and Garter yesterday - Great result for Fosse aswell.

Probably our best ever mate! Don't think any of us expected that, and with a severely depleted side too, so no idea how it happened!

The Foxes debate will go on and on. Not sure about the rumours about them threatening to fold if they were promoted but toward the end of last season their manager (I think) approached us saying that they were struggling for next season and asking if we were interested in merging the 2 clubs together as he'd heard we were also struggling.

Obviously didn't happen and after winning division 1 they ended up folding and somehow joining division 2 with a similar squad, we went from 4th in division 1 to 4th in the Premiership now with the same team. I don't see why there is any fear factor attached to the Premiership, but if you added Foxes, Moshdock and Mowmacre it would be a very decent league.

I agree, add Gaunt aswell in that - decent side around Div 1 and Prem standard too. I'd like to think we'll be ready in there in a couple of seasons (should we do well this season) Nice to be in a actual decent title race with 2 other teams that will be going up the divisions too. (LKS and Huncote) Luckily we've got games to play still.

And Star and Garters front 3 was ridiculous Sunday, I wanted to watch that as our game was drab, just a case of teams turning up when they've got nothing to play for.

Are Gaunt coming across then? If so the Alliance's Div 1 and Prem will be very competitive. Whilst the standard won't be at the heights of Advance Couriers, you'll have a set of teams capable of beating each other which should see the two top divisions flourish.

Just doubled checked on Alliance's forum - application accepted for Alliance League and a reserves team as well.

They are a very good set up, been going for years. They will do well if they keep their squad - i imagine it's hard competing with Stamford's 3 teams.

Just seen that Azzurri have now folded from the Alliance Premiership, to go with Tomlin who went a few months back. That leaves us with 8 teams that should see out the season.

I said before the season started it would be a bad decision to start with just 10 teams, we've already had 4 or 5 weeks off in the last couple of months and now we have just 1 game to play, even though we made decent progress in 2 out of 3 cup competitions.

Really hope they fill the top division out a bit more next season. They like to use the Arthur Moore cup as an excuse not to, this season 2 of the 5 teams in our group folded!

Might have a few spare Sunday mornings coming up if anyone's struggling!

Is Sparky still there?

In other news we are getting horribly relegated.

Yes mate, I'll be running their newly formed reserve team next season.

We (LDA Spartans) are looking for a new Goalkeeper this season after our veteran has now retired.

Reply in here or PM me if interested.

Decent set of lads that don't take it too seriously. Division 3 alliance next season is likely for us.

Relegation confirmed as the Burton League do their constitution pretty much the second the season ends. Back to the delights of Division 3.

Given they've had a complete league reshuffle and as a result the league is made up of the two relegated teams, Seven promoted division 4 teams (lol), two new teams and only one that was a div 3 team last season, I'm thinking we should probably do alrighrt. The fact we've got some geniune quality coming in from the Saturday teams over spill wont hurt either but we'll have to see if our manager picks them with enough frequency to keep them interested as he does seem to favour the old guard.

Good to see you on Saturday briefly Manny!

Was an absolute pleasure to get twisted up by Steve Hart and Phil Gibson also

If it helps heals the wounds, the other Sileby Aths team won the tournament!!
