langtonfox Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 Come on then Al, what are the reasons? Has anyone any idea? Why is it such a big secret?
langtonfox Posted 14 July 2014 Author Posted 14 July 2014 He must know, the boss of RL is clearly stating he has been told
lgfualol Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 He knows but it's probably hard to accept seeing as he has followed them for 4 years commenting on every game. I want him to call in.
Bayfox Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 I'd guess. Drink related. Let's hope that's all it is. although that makes him a shoe in for the next talksport breakfast show host.
absolutelegend Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 i'd guess drink too. many combined with some un p.c. comments now and again.

Well if it was anything particularly serious the police would be involved and I imagine no one would be saying anything.
Fox92 Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 Or maybe they've just let him go because they want to re-shape? There hasn't got to be something mysterious behind everything.

There hasn't got to be something mysterious behind everything. if they'd gor rid of him in may then i'd agree with this. But to keep him all summer and then get rid of him the day after a phone-in has made this all very fishy
Les-TA-Jon Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 Probably just a bit of re-branding to be honest. He's not exactly anything like a 'modern' footballing pundit. Never ever proved himself to be knowledgeable about us or the opposition. Not measured in his opinions either, players were either god-awful or unplayable. Similar levels of extremity with refereeing performances too. We're moving up to the 'slick and modern' PL for the first time in 10 years, BBC probably took it as an opportunity to evaluate their coverage and thought that some old fashioned pundit that doesn't do much punditry and has been here for 4 years too, didn't fit.
Bayfox Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 Well if it was anything particularly serious the police would be involved and I imagine no one would be saying anything. Do we know they aren't and the bbc fuller statement didn't exactly say a lot. I place on record I am not suggesting any wrong doing but they have made a shit statement leaving everyone wondering.
Livid Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 He was freelancing. They don't have to have a reason other than they want to try something different. Unfortunately they have seriously misread the situation and have now launched into a face saving operation. Bury your head in the sand and keep repeating the corporate spiel. The nasty people will go away eventually.

Agree with all this but if it was down to his performance they'd have done this a couple of seasons ago. Or at least done it in May and not made him do all the Football Forums over the summer
Mike Oxlong Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 He's not being sacked. Buoyed on by his army of devotees he is leaving to start a new religion. Apparently he's a right cult.
