As anyone but a moron might know.. lol

lol I admit that I had to google the Lord Mayor's name, I knew that the Lord Mayor and Mayor were two completely separate roles though, as it is in Leicester as well

I will, just because it will piss off all the tories on here so much.

The majority who post in the DPAC page on Facebook will be laughing I can guarantee that.

On Boris I think him portraying himself as a clever man portraying himself as a buffoon is a double bluff.

Electronic banking has been around for years now, contactless payment is just the next generation. Having cash doesn't protect you from the gangsters, there's plenty of fake money in circulation.

True, I use a few forms of invisible money already, it's just the idea of having all info, including credits, on a microchip inside our body that they're pushing towards that I'm really against. Next generation will likely be chipped up, all plebs will be a number and barcode, and constantly tracked. They will say that it is to make us safe and to make life easier but it will be for political/worker dissent reasons if you arsk me. I'm pretty sure that when everybody is chipped up that we will turn into more of a slave nation with less options regards to fighting back.

You can be tracked already without the need to be chipped.. CCTV, phone calls & internet, banking, employment, Big brother is already watching.

You won't when all those Tories get sick of seeing their money taken and decide to fcuk off, meaning you have no money to buy votes, pay for your NHS/schools and leaving you unable to leave people for dead on sink estates for generations to manipulate them into voting Labour. Then all us Tories will be having a good ol' laugh.

Good move for Boris, probably won't win in 2016 but he's a huge card for the Tories to have, any blue who can manage to get elected in London these days clearly has something that reaches out to the people, he'll do a good job somewhere. A proper Tory right wonger as well, unlike a lot of those that currently infest the cabinet.

Surely all those who feel so strongly about it would have fvcked off when Labour ran the show from 1997-2010 (Blair being Conservative-lite in many ways aside)?

But, in any case Milibland isn't getting into no.10 without some kind of utter PR miracle between now and next May. Can't see it happening.

Nah. Blair understood business.

Ed however, utter disaster awaits for anyone who isn't reliant on the state. If he does get your savings out and into something he can't get his hands on. There's no gold left to sell and the pensions pot can't be raided this time.

If they can do it in Cyprus they can do it here.

Wine, women and song, my friend. Hedonism is grossly underrated.

Never understood the appeal of saving for the future unless you have a really, really specific objective in mind. Too many bad things can happen.

Indeed, but a microchipped population takes it to a whole new level.

true...but how long before the government reveals that terrorists have evaded the latest mass surveillance schemes and tighter rules are called for to protect national security. Like perhaps a CCTV installed by law in everyones homes. If you have got nothing to hide you wouldnt surely be against it...

(where did I read this before....?)

Like having a good life once retired?  You can have a good time and save too.

The day Ed Milliband is running this country is the day I completely give up with politics. He's just a pathetic joke of a politician. At least Blair had zest and charisma when he was first elected.

Zest and charisma are vastly over-rated, at least in positions of responsibility.

Hitler had loads of zest and charisma. Attlee was one of the least charismatic politicians of all-time and Thatcher was completely charisma-free when first elected (though she developed some later).

Charisma is OK in an actor or comedian but in politicians I'd prefer qualities like wisdom, honesty, integrity and flexibility....most of which both Blair and Boris are sorely lacking. Unimpressive as he may have been so far, I'd already rate Miliband higher than both of them on those qualities.

Probably won't matter, though, as we seem to live in an age when people struggle to differentiate between people elected to exercise responsibility and people employed to provide entertainment....real life as soap opera, a dangerous error!

The ironic stinger is that this job actually gives you quite a lot of dough you can stick away (low cost of living) and I do in fact have plans for it once I get back to the UK.

But I still do see no point in being miserly purely for its own sake.

I'd probably vote for Boris in a Boris vs Cameron choice but he's still Tory. I'd worry about him meddling in areas he knows nothing about.

Trouble with Milliband is he doesn't appear to have

I agree with this but fail to see how Milliband has demonstrated any positive qualities.

Agree with both those points.

Milliband! Disaster waiting to happen, just like Blair was.

At least Blair was a GOOD liar!

Cameron has a convincing smile. He only has to show his Cheshire cat smile and people are convinced that he is Pinocchio in reverse. Although if Labour had a stronger leader things might be different.

There are none so blind as those that will not see.
