Jon the Hat Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Is coming back to the commons! Awesome. I cant wait. Love this guy. Very clever and speaks his mind. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-28673113
Fox92 Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Yes, he's very clever. But acts like an idiot. Annoying more than anything.
pSinatra Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Not sure what he stands for & would probably disagree with most of it, but can't help but like the bloke. Not scared to say what he means & adds some much needed personality into politics. What's the general opinion of him in London?
hairy Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Jon,you do realise that by doing so he is one step closer to becoming PM?
ousefox Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 He acts like a buffoon to hide his very right wing views and unfortunately people seem to lap it up. No doubt he's a clever bloke but I'd hate it if he became PM.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 He's like Chancellor Palpatine; under a kind and loveable façade lies the ambitious and scheming evil emperor of the Sith. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he could shoot lightning out of his hands.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 August 2014 Author Posted 6 August 2014 Jon,you do realise that by doing so he is one step closer to becoming PM? Yes. I think he would be a great PM. a bit of bloody character for a change! Someone not afraid to stand up and be counted, and also not afraid to change his mind.
leicesterlad1989 Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Yes. I think he would be a great PM. a bit of bloody character for a change! Someone not afraid to stand up and be counted, and also not afraid to change his mind. Thats because he comes across like he can't make his mind up!!
bovril Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Tory / UKIP coalition... PM Johnson and Deputy Farage.... think I'd move to Tibet.
lavrentis Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Tory / UKIP coalition... PM Johnson and Deputy Farage.... think I'd move to Tibet. Would be one of the best governments since Thatcher. Fair play to Boris, done a great job for London. Hope he does become PM failing a UKIP victory.
Nalis Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Not sure what he stands for & would probably disagree with most of it, but can't help but like the bloke. Not scared to say what he means & adds some much needed personality into politics. What's the general opinion of him in London? Its very mixed. Some of his ideas are absurd like closing all ticket offices on the underground and making buses cashless, not exactly tourist friendly. Think Mayor of London shouldn't be allowed to double job as an MP, its an important enough job in itself.
broughtonblue Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Brilliant news Can't wait for him to tackle ed milliband like he did that German player!
ADK Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 He's the same mould as Nigel Farage. But at the end of the day he's just another right winger.

David Guiza Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 I commend any man/woman for standing up for what they believe in within modern day politics. However, Boris, as has been said, is just Farage in a better quality suit. You just know he'd get elected thanks to the amount of idiotic people who are drawn in by his buffoonery. Nothing against those who genuinely believe he's right, but those who are too naive to see he isn't the idiot he makes himself out to be.
lavrentis Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 No doubt you weren't even born then. I wasn't born but I have an opinion with what I have read as the same people my age who despise her have their opinions. You dont have to be born in an age to know about it - but I won't have as valid opinion as someone who did.
Webbo Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 No doubt you weren't even born then. Doesn't matter to those who hate her.
purpleronnie Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Doesn't matter to those who hate her. True it works both ways....but it should matter.
lavrentis Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 True it works both ways....but it should matter. Why? History is documented and opinions are never the same regardless.
purpleronnie Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Why? History is documented and opinions are never the same regardless. It's more difficult to give an opinion on how good a government was unless you experienced it personally. That's not to say if you had you would think any differently but it certainly would give you more perspective.

That's not to say if you had you would think any differently but it certainly would give you more perspective. I stated before someone that lived in the her time would have a more valid opinion then me but my perspective also comes from people who lived in her time and I understand why people despised her.

Some of his ideas are absurd like closing all ticket offices on the underground and making buses cashless, not exactly tourist friendly. Think Mayor of London shouldn't be allowed to double job as an MP, its an important enough job in itself. Those are both great ideas. It is so easy to buy an Oyster card almost anywhere. We managed without a Mayor of London for a lot of years. I am pretty sure a part time one would work fine for a year or so.
