Poor for me: Nugent (invisible)

I couldn't disagree more. He pressured the absolute bollocks off the Everton defence. Can think of 3 or 4 times they were panicking at the back because of how well he was pressuring them. Including a couple of times we nearly actually got through on goal because of it.

I gave MotM to Mahrez -9

King and Moore get 8's

6's for Schlupp and Nugent

5 for Knockaert

Rest 7's

Everton get a 7, 8 for the first half and 6 for the second

Ref gets a 4

Morgan and Moore were fantastic as a partnership.

MOTM for me is King, given he lost a very influential partner early on and the doubts about his own lnfluence, superb display.

Weird because I thought Vardy's constant harassment of defenders and forcing errors was one of the things we missed today.

I didn't see Nugent cause any problems to Everton. Not when I was at the game, and not tonight watching it back on sky sports. Really didn't think he had a good game today

motm andy king. who would have thought king and Hammond would even be playing.

kasper 7 couldn't do much with either goal. had very little to do 2nd half.

rdl 4 worst player for us. must improve.

morgan 8 couple of early wobbles but was excellent from ht onwards.

moore 9 just shaded morgan for me. when lukaku drfited onto him and tried to bully him he never gave an inch.

konch 7 very solid, by far the more impressive full back yesterday.

dd 4 never really saw the ball early on and for once when he did took to many touches and slowed play down.

king 10 motm for me was everywhere worked his socks off.

knocky 6 not his day tried to hard a bit like when he 1st arrived. maybe due to not being fully fit.

mahrez 7 maybe just shy of an 8. grew into the game especially 2nd half he looked dangerous at times but often had 3 men around him.

nugent 7 again worked his socks off without ever really getting a sight of goal. but positive signs.

ulloa 8 surprised at his work rate glad to see him score.

wood 6 not on long enough to really asses but again pleased to see him score.

hammond 8 excellent at just putting a foot in and doing the simple thing. our barry.

schlupp 5 oh dear thats why your not a striker. got to take those chances.

Those who've said Mahrez and Knocky did not help Richie enough in the first half are spot on. So Mahrez cannot in my view rate as MOM despite a brilliant second half. I gave Wes a 9. His and Kingy's and Hammond's best ever games, ever in a Leicester shirt. I could see the signs with Kingy in his 90 minutes against Werder Bremen last week, a revelation. ( Don't know what he's been feeding on in the summer ).

Great start for Leo, I like him a lot, snip at £8M. Better than Lukaku at £28M.

Liam Moore is a star. Konch was great, Richie will get better, so will Knocky. Vards, Drinky , James and Albrighton, plus new signings, all to look forward to.

In fairness to De Laet he came unstuck by one of the most experienced and effective Premiership left-sides in Pienaar and Baines. This isn't an excuse as I felt he was out of position and wasted the ball a couple of times, but he was made to look a lot worse by them. I still have faith that he'll adapt to the difference in quality, but bar the top 6, he won't come up against better partnerships

wow cannot believe anyone thought nuge had a bad game. he took one for the team by sacrificing any chance of getting in the box to bag (like ulloa and wood) because he knew he was the one who needed to press. he must've done upwards of 100 shuttle runs between jagielka and distin in the first half alone. he looked like he was going to throw up at one point just before full time he'd ran so bloody far.

I don't think anyone is questioning his work rate. More the fact that he had absolutely zero goal threat about him and lost the ball a lot. Players are allowed to have an off game. I'm not suggesting he should never play for us again. Just didn't think he played well and looked a little out of his depth.

I was surprised by Hammond, though he added a lot of grit to the midfield and King shone much more with him by his side. Not sure we can play Drinkwater and King together in this league unless in a 3. Morgan and Moore man mountains at the back for me, Liam would have just shaded my MOTM. Mahrez had a really good second half but a poor first half. I feel it might be difficult to play him and Knockaert against the better teams and away from home together. They seemed to be treading on each others toes at times. Drinkwater was bossing our play until he got injured but thought he looked good again. Knocky tried hard but I feel he hasn't got the pace to play out wide in this league. Needs to be at CAM. Nuge had a decent game but had no influence on it really. I was very impressed by Ulloa. Looked a Premier League class player and was a real handful. Konchesky was actually fairly solid. De Laet was left exposed by a really good left side partnership but I still felt he was all over the place at times. Schmeichel had nothing to do. Schlupp was rapid but needs to find some composure from somewhere and he could be a real real danger to teams.

Overall a solid performance. Thought we looked nervous at times and we know we can pass it much better than we did but we came from behind twice and that spirit will go a long way. Possibly the hardest game of the season next Saturday at Chelsea. Not expecting any points but all I want to see when I go there is a committed performance.

but like I said he effectively sacrificed his goal threat and let ulloa and wood take the headlines because when the ball broke in the box they were there to slot home and nuge was still chasing defenders causing mistakes. a good, unselfish performance. I expect as fitness improves and the possibility of him teaming up with Vardy again it'll take a bit of weight off his shoulders as they can share the load somewhat more and then we'll see him as more of a goal threat/creator once more.

I think King was great, and Hammond did a good job too. Better production than we'd expect without the starting 2. As good as they can both be, I don't think King and Drinky is a viable midfield 2 for us, especially against the better teams. I think both need a James/Hammond type to play a bit deeper next to them.

Knocky was disappointing, but of all our injuries he'd seemed the least likely to start, so I can give him the benefit of the doubt for this one. Same with RDL who definitely got the hardest match up yesterday.

Good performances at the back, but MotM goes to Mahrez for me. Can hardly remember a second half attack that didn't come through him, and the ball for Schlupp was even better to watch than the finish (for very different reasons)

But I didn't feel he forced the defenders into any mistakes? I can't see Nugent starting if we have Ulloa, Vardy and a possible new signing all fit.

In all fairness to both strikers yesterday, service to them wasn't great. That will be different in a lot of other games because other teams won't be as good as Everton.

Are our blue specs really that tinted or is the guy doing these ratings an everton fan?

As a whole, Leicester played a very tactical and spirited game. I think there were weaknesses in our wings, mainly Konchesky. I think De Laet struggled, but who wouldn't against Baines?

Solid start. We need to maintain the focus that was strong throughout the 90 mins. We're in a good position to take 3/4 points out of our next 9.

2 signings needed - Cambiasso will be great, a left back to challenge Konchesky. Maybe a good loan signing to boost the numbers?

Posted

King, with his 96% pass completion rate, hardly losing a 50/50 challenge and driving his team on, has the same rating as Lukaku, whose touch was appalling and offered little goal threat?

Wow.

Wow.

This.

King had a blinder, best game he has played since our promotion season from league 1. He seems to have grown his game as a player and not just there for getting the odd goal. Dictated the play in the middle when Drinkwater left the field.

These pundits do not have a clue.

So we "on paper" had a terrible game, Everton "on paper" had a better game. We got a draw, does that mean we were expected to win?

I'd say Everton's best players were Naismith and Baines.

I wouldn't say he put in a 'MOTM' performance though. How on earth didn't Morgan, Moore or even King get higher ratings is beyond me.

Baines was class.
