Final week Panic buys

Everyone seems to think we need several players. To be honest I think it's possible we could survive without any new signings, that's not to say I wouldn't like any more to come in but I don't think we need a bunch of new players.

Do you genuinely believe this? We need cover in crucial positions. Say, Morgan, Moore and King gets injured next we would struggle big time. You do need a squad of 25 in the premiership. You technically need two players for each position. Something we don't seem to quite grasp. I agree our strongest eleven could compete at premier league level as has been proved in the opening two fixtures but you have to prepare for injuries. It is a pity that the premier league fixtures has not been kinder to us in the first six games. It would have been nice to get some points on the board. I hope team morale does not suffer if we haven't got too many after the first six and we are in the bottom three.

Perfect example of how fickle some of our fans are with the edit of the thread....

Within 20 minutes it's gone from:

Cambiasso has completely Pissed us about and I hope he goes to a club in the prem and fails now. No respect for players like him. You either want to sign or you bloody dont.

You know it's not the same people posting those things....?

If he signs for us he must come out and explain to us what the delay was about, even though he will probably lie to make himself look like the good guy when in actual fact the only reason he will be here is because no club he wanted to join actually wanted him. Then he's got to prove himself on the pitch, and by that I mean 110% effort week in week out. If he is not playing with the same passion he displayed at Inter Milan then he can do one as far as I'm concerned. It's gone on for too long this has and I am one of the people who don't want him and my mind won't change on this.

Another no mark thinking he's entitled to other peoples private business.

Unless other people can edit your posts.....

Oh right, sorry, didn't notice that. I thought you meant in general. I agree, that is a bit weird.

He's just one of many on here at the moment though. I don't know if it's the summer holidays or what but there's a lot of people posting a lot of stroppy, over the top stuff about this situation.

Actually I am entitled since I will be making a contribution to his wages. He owes any paying Leicester fan an explanation if they want one. Crikey there's a fair few keyboard warriors on this forum isn't there?

There's a fair few keyboard idiots as well it seems.

Don't pay your money then. Go somewhere else if you don't like it. Where do people get this stuff from? Do I have the right to demand explanation of decisions Tesco makes because I shop there?

If you genuinely are this misguided then you should purchase shares in the club. You can go to the AGM and start shouting things at the board about how you have a right to know what all the players have for breakfast.

lol why would I want to go somewhere else I'm a Leicester fan? I'm certainly not misguided, stubborn in changing my opinion yes but I'm not misguided. I'm sorry if my opinion has offended you...actually no I'm not.

Has he. And how did you come to that conclusion?

Common sense and research.

That's everyone AND Pearson then. The reason he is still in the hunt for players is because he knows we don't have the strength in depth and he knows we need more quality in the side. If we tried to get through the season with what we have at the present, then no matter how well we play it will be straight back down . Pearson and the owners know that.

We already have injuries so we're already having to use our backup players.

I'm not questioning those who want a few additions - I'm one of them. It's the desire to have five, six, seven players come in that I find odd - they're asking for half a team at times. We're a long way from that kind of desperation in my view.

Apparently he was spotted on the streets of London

Don't forget Carlisle, Dublin, Dundee or Humberside.

We'll probably throw a 30m pound bit for Deeney in, and it'll be rejected.

If you wanted that just look in the Cambiasso thread. All this question attracts is a gaggle of idiots that don't understand how football transfers work, spouting off their shit conjecture.

Seriously, what's the point in the thread?

The options are...

a) Pearson's shit at identifying and aquiring targets

b) We've played hardball too much

c) There's not actually that much quality, affordable talent out there that want to move and play for Leicester.

I've given you a clue which one it is.

/thread

No. The problem is not 'quality, affordable talent' but 'quality, affordable talent which is likely to be ready for Premiership football'. There are more of the likes of Morgan, Drinkwater, James, Vardy and Mahrez out there - they were all quality and affordable and it may well be the case that they are up to the challenge this year. But, equally, they might not have been ready at the time they were signed.

As such, for this year at least, the policy has changed: Back in 2011 we brought in several players who would have been 'ready' to go straight into a number of top flight sides - Yakubu, Konchesky, arguably Schmeichel. So there will be players of the right pedigree out there this year too.

Therefore we have to consider (a) and (b) as well. As regards (a), we know that Pearson is excellent at 'identifying' targets but it is not his job to do the 'acquiring'. And it may well be here, and the 'playing hardball' you refer to in (b) that we find the reason for our relative inactivity.

In 2011 we lamentably failed to play 'hardball' and, in addition to some god awful dross, we also picked up some players in that 'ready for the PL' category that we're aiming for now. But in 2014 we have failed to seal signings of a similar standing. But not because the players are nigh impossible to find - as you argue - rather because they have gone somewhere else. It's perfectly reasonable for us to ask why.

Harry that kind of flies in the face of what you first said don't you think ?

At the end of the day, it's easy to complain but this is Pearson's first PL transfer window and he may have to learn the hard way that it's a much tougher ball game getting high profile players in. Nigel has an exemplary transfer record and I certainly won't be criticising his or the clubs policy. If he can learn from it as well as keeping us up, then this may just be a small positive in our clubs development.

It would make me happy if we could sneak Vargas from under the radar. QPR look set to sign him, and he would be a great addition to any side.

I still luv you 'Arry, but there is a limit, geezer!

I don't think so. Two or three isn't the same as five or six.  It's not a massive difference I know, but it's enough to make a point about it.

I do happen to think we could stay up as we are although I wouldn't want us to stick with what we have.
