kurssel Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 With all this talk of money I thought it would be interesting to keep track of just how much a point is worth in this league. Will keep this updated every week if anyone's interested... Jimothy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 I take it this is the complete cost of the total squad, not just summer spending. Should be interesting, can see Man Utd finishing bottom.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 I like this, although we'll never know player wages which would make this even more interesting. Will be checking back regularly

Some really good posters.
Mark_w Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 This table looks much nicer than the real one. Is too late to get them to change the rules?
Guest ttfn Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 I don't want to be a douchebag about this but obviously unless we have a completely shit season we're going to finish high up in this. The price of success becomes exponentially higher the higher up the table you get. If you spend £20 million to get 38 points you wouldn't expect to spend another £20 million to get to 76 and a Champions League spot. Everton have spent £100 million on their squad and would do well to finish 6th.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Could get interesting to see this same table after January…..

Exactly this, all well and good looking at it now etc, but if we want to progress we are going to have to spend the same as a lot of clubs have to be competitive and kick on to that next level

Of course, I just thought it would be an interesting look at who is getting bang for their buck, Of course it could very well end up that the relegated sides come out on top of this table but hey ho....
steveherbe Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 1/10d when I started drinking - or did I misread the title?
BrummieFOX Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Should be interesting to see this progress. I remember 'Why England Lose' or 'Soccernomics' - a book written by an economist and football fan - suggested that the success of a club was effected much more by how much they paid players than how much they paid on transfer fees.
