Foxes Trust Urges Owners to Reject Overseas League Game Proposal

Brian Blessed.

Ha ha, that works...

Wow the term "them" has been used, its 2014...

Not know, Brian is a belligerent old goat, he wouldn't make such a ridiculous post, he would just repeat his argument, but louder and with more hand gestures.

This is either a brilliant WUM, or the most pathetic whiny little turd to find implied racism in the correct use of the preposition "them".

whoosh.

Sorry, here’s the dumbed-down version:

Where you’re born shouldn’t mean you don’t get the chance to experience some of the good things in life, like Premiership football.

I meant you whoosh, as in you've completely and utterly missed the point whoosh. I.e I wasn't talking about people when I said the poor get poorer lol

Why not either get on a plane, or support their national league?

There was a friendly between Liverpool and Indonesia or Philippines (can't remember which). Anyway, the crowd of that nation were supporting Liverpool. Pretty embarrassing really.

If attracting fans from around the globe increases our chances of playing around the globe, then I for one do not want the extra support. And when I say "our", I mean people of Leicester who support Leicester. Everyone hates glory grabbers that have no ties to "their" club(/city) of choice, this is really no different. Sure it'd be funny to strike up a conversation about Emile Heskey to a Chinese man but the cons outweigh the pros and it would damage our game.

I don't think anyone has anything against preseason friendlies, tours or minor cups being played outside the UK - it gives fans an opportunity to see the club play games in grounds they wouldn't otherwise see without affecting the club's proper standings, but if this goes ahead, one day a team will win the league or be relegated which probably wouldn't have happened should it have been played on home soil. And if it's the last game of the season, in front of what could be a half-filled stadium of people who have no connection to either club, just wearing the colours of the team most likely to win that particular match. What a horrible thought.

Also, using "them" to describe people of a particular country when the name of country has alresdy been mentioned cannot even remotely be deemed to be racist. Don't be a dick.

I actually can't believe this. I know English football fans have a pushover mentality in general but some fans are actually arguing for playing some of our league games in another continent. Absolutely astonishing.

What George spent on the Carling Stand was 10% of what the Thai's spent on Sven Goran Eriksson's two seasons in charge, who do you thnik got better value for money?

But what a ridiculous thing to say, that man brought Brian Little and Martin O'Neill to this football club, show some respect.

So you're defending Martin George by saying that he wasn't quite as incompetent as our Thai owners were during their first two seasons with us?

I'm sure he'd be thrilled to hear it.

I do wonder if the top clubs play these friendlies (or potentially league games in future) to actually prevent the growth of Asian & American clubs because if they actually focused on their own game I think they could possibly become even more powerful than the top European sides.

You really are naive, way too many holes in your "proud to be English" stance. I doubt you have ventured to asia to understand levels of support. How do you know folk haven't been supporting LCFC for 50 years in China? You clearly don't. There will be people around the world that know far more about leicester than you, they will be far more passionate and will have spent far more money than you. Let that sink in super fan. The game is funded by everything overseas, the English involvement is becoming less and less relevant. When will you realise they don't care about you anymore, if you want it like the good old days head on down to Hinckley for a game, if not stop being greedy and share.

Sorry, which post have i written that on?

Erm right there.

Your not very good at this Michael.

So who the hell were you talking about then? Badgers getting poorer?

No wonder I missed the point.

That doesn't state I support it? It says if you don't like it, then you are free to leave. Thanks the name michael used in the way you have intended doesn't bother me at all.

I don't need to defend Martin George one bit, his record itself does that. When he came into the club we were one kick from being relegated to Division Three, when he left we had just won a major Cup, were mid table in the Premier League and were about to play Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Cup.

I'm finding this whole argument of 'people watch it so we have to go there to share it' quite ridiculous. I watch many foreign sports, AFL, IPL - I don't feel the teams who play in these leagues should be under any obligation to come to England just because I watch it.

Don't you think it's also rather offensive to the people of these countries actually trying hard to build their own football teams and leagues as well, we march in steal the support and money leaving them little chance of doing that just to make the already billionaire owners of our clubs even richer?

It's 2014 and you're using the terms 'them' and 'their'!

I bet you wish it was 1980 again!

Keep smoking crqxk grandad. That is factually incorrect and makes no sense.

I'm sure a lot of them already do both of these things.

I think if you're a basketball of NFL fan then you'll really appreciate the gesture of their teams coming to London ocassionally to play. It's just a nice thing to do when you have a global fan base, and I think the EPL should follow suit.

OK will do.

Can anybody please tell me who this geezer is referring to when he says "the poor get poorer".

it's not people, and it's not badgers.

Please help.

No it clearly says "stop being greedy and share". If your not talking about live football what exactly are you talking about Michael?

Do you not support it then? So basically you've been WUMING all day?

Do you really think the intention of this is because the EPL heirachy thinks it's a nice thing to do?

We'll see how nice you think it is if we end up playing an away game in Thailand that was supposed to be at the King Power that sees us up against 80,000 screaming Liverpool fans that we lose 1-0 that sends us down by a point.

Isn't it obvious?

All football clubs in Britain apart from the elite that already dominate the financial side of the game. It gives Man Utd more money to splash on 360k a week for Falcao and 60mil for Di Maria etc.

Even we get slightly richer from it ourselves the financial imbalance will still grow between us and the top sides as a result of it. In terms of the top flight I'd say everyone apart from Man Utd and Liverpool would get poorer from this.
