Dan Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Good good. I hope they listen. I would lose a hell of a lot of respect for our owners if they were in favour of this scummy idea.
Guest MattP Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Good good. I hope they listen. I would lose a hell of a lot of respect for our owners if they were in favour of this scummy idea. Come on mate, I think we all know what our owners will think about this. They would absolutely jump at the chance to take us out to the Far East to play a Premier League game, multiple that by 50 if they could do it in Bangkok. I'll donate £100 to charity if just a one foreign owner in the EPL votes against this idea.
ozleicester Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Perth to Bangkok $330 (180 pounds) return Bring it on
DB11 Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 It's already too expensive so what's one game really matter
Raj Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 hate the idea but it will happen. dont the nhl american footy play games at wembley???
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 I've given up fighting it to be honest, it's gonna happen. Even though I'm sure a strongly worded letter from such a strongly politically power entity like the Foxes Trust will make everyone think twice.
Babylon Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 How many current members are there in the foxes trust?
James. Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Is there an argument for the Foxes Trust and Union FS to at least collaborate and potentially even merge into one organisation? Would give the Foxes Trust more membership and would give Union FS some more legitimacy / power in the eyes of the club? In idealistic terms it could be a politically strong voice for the fans with solid roots on the terraces. Not sure if this is an awful idea or a good one.

Can you let me know how many members you have, and what consultation process you have gone through to arrive at this view? Otherwise, for all we know, you're just one bloke with a web building package. I think playing one game abroad is a good idea. Share the Love and all that...
Raj Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 How many current members are there in the foxes trust?i was an original member when it first started up,but not anymore.(think ive even got the certificate somewhere!!!)tbf it'd be good if one of the foxestrust boys posted a history of WHY it was started...some of the yoof may not know...(sorry to hijack the thread!!!)

BigMicky Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 A lot of double standards here, more than happy to spend TV money generated by a worldwide audience, but way too precious and protective to allow those not from our city to attend a game. Ohh and its already started by folk calling it the EPL, that's a term coined in Asia.

Ohh and its already started by folk calling it the EPL, that's a term coined in Asia. I'm more than happy to indeed. If Asians are happy to leech onto the English league without it ever having to leave the British isles then be our guests. No-one made them start 'supporting' English sides.

So just because they weren't born in Leicester it makes them less of a fan? What about expats that have moved abroad? Your post is naive at best super fan. If they support LCFC it's "US" regardless of nationality, not "them".

English football should not ever be taken out of England & Wales.
BigMicky Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 It's quite clearly different when someone has moved abroad. English football should not ever be taken out of England & Wales. Haha why? You have summed it up in your last post, why do we make an exception for the welsh then? All i see is double standards.
Dan Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Haha why? You have summed it up in your last post, why do we make an exception for the welsh then? All i see is double standards. Wales is quite clearly different to somewhere like USA or Thailand. Cardiff & Swansea as well as other Welsh sides have played in England for years. Oh and is it 'super fan' of me to claim I'm a bigger Leicester fan than someone from Thailand who's started watching us this season due to us being in the 'EPL'? Or is it just common sense? Leicester play in Leicester. That's the way it is. That's where the vast majority of our fanbase are from and around and it's where Leicester have played since any Leicester fan has started supporting us. People from Asia and USA didn't start following Leicester because we played out there before did they? We've never needed to take games to other continents so why should we start now? Look at the motives behind this nonsense and seriously question why you're actually defending such lunacy.
Captain... Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 So just because they weren't born in Leicester it makes them less of a fan? What about expats that have moved abroad? Your post is naive at best super fan. If they support LCFC it's "US" regardless of nationality, not "them". You sir, are talking nonsense, it has nothing to do with allowing fans from other countries to watch Leicester, it is about the integrity of the league and football, an even playing field 19 matches at home, 19 matches away, you play a home match in a foreign country it is an away match, so some teams will play 20 away matches and 18 home and others 19/19, unless you start playing 2 matches abroad, so everyone loses a home match. You also have to consider that wherever United go they will get home advantage as they have a huge global fan base, would the "home" team get to choose where they go? Then how do you decide which match, I don't want to play QPR away twice as we stand a better chance at home, whereas Man City or Chelsea doesn't really matter as they will beat us where ever. As for foreign fans wanting to watch a Leicester game, simple option come to Leicester, you aren't going to get the full atmosphere and chants and tradition that makes English football so popular in some sterile giant stadium in Asia with very few regular fans singing. It's a nonsense and more organisations like the foxes trust officially registering their opposition, the better.

I doubt you have ventured to asia to understand levels of support. How do you know folk haven't been supporting LCFC for 50 years in China? You clearly don't. There will be people around the world that know far more about leicester than you, they will be far more passionate and will have spent far more money than you. Let that sink in super fan. The game is funded by everything overseas, the English involvement is becoming less and less relevant. When will you realise they don't care about you anymore, if you want it like the good old days head on down to Hinckley for a game, if not stop being greedy and share.

Do you think we currently contest in such a manner? Think about it.

That is such utter bollocks. I'm struggling to comprehend how to reply to such drivel - not that there's any point making an effort as you'll just reply with some more utter dross completely ignoring everything I've just said. Good luck to you though. Maybe the more inane drivel you spout the closer we'll be to your goal of having a completely soulless crock of shite.
Captain... Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Stopped reading at "even playing field". Do you think we currently contest in such a manner? Think about it. So that is a reason to make it more uneven?
BigMicky Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 So that is a reason to make it more uneven? Weird that you can't answer the question.
Danno Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 BigMicky has got to be trolling. Nobody can be that stupid, surely.
