Foxes Trust Urges Owners to Reject Overseas League Game Proposal

Clearly I'm not claiming that. If I was, I would probably have used those exact words in my previous past.

The Thais bought LCFC, and invested £££ in it with the intention of making it “Thailand’s Team”.

So thanks very much to the Thais. Cheers. Thailand has helped us to achieve success beyond the means of a traditional East Midlands yoyo team. BUT, now they want to actually take part and watch the team like the rest of us can. And your attitude is “screw you - get on a plane Tojo.”

How can getting promoted be beyond the means of a traditional East Midlands yoyo team? Surely to yoyo we'll have to have been promoted before?

I like the owners and think they've run the club well in recent years and act professionally, but they've done nothing yet that Martin George hasn't done.

What?! What success have we achieved thus far than we haven't before?

We owe the people of Thailand nothing, should Barcelona have to play league games in England as a thank you for an Englishman creating the club?

Let's be quite frank, we are a sporting team purchased to advertise King Power, the same what Mike Ashley did to Newcastle to do for Sports Direct. We weren't purchased to be made 'Thailand's team' - that shipped has long sailed, they all 'support' the big four.

The Thai's have contributed, they are not the sole reason we are where we are and even if they were they have a duty of care to value the traditions of the club not uproot it and play games all over the world.

Nigel Pearson is the reason for our success as well, not the Thais.

They spent more under Sven than they have under Nige and we went nowhere for that period.

No footy fan want the so called 39th game(is that what its called?)

The lad bigmicky is, as you lot say a WUM.

He's gotta be.

Football hasn't moved on it's changed for the worse. And it's been changing for the worse for years.

What your backing is a further extension of that change for the worse, a world where the important people in football don't matter, the rich get rich and poor get poorer the big clubs get bigger and the small clubs get smaller, the change of football from a sport to a franchise.

Any proper football fan, from the terraces at Gigg Lane the Westfalenstadion would be heavily against this, by backing it you're just proving you are not one.

So raising the profile of the club is a bad thing then? I want as many people as possible to support leicester across the globe, why wouldn't you?

Dan is spot on.

BigMicky, I’m sorry but if you’re being serious, then that’s absolute nonsense. IF (Why am I even entertaining this?) there are “massive” Leicester fans in China, who’s to say our overseas game will be played over there? What if it’s in Miami or Auckland? That’s just as useless as it is being in England to our Chinese friend over there.

Also, I know Japan only show the FA Cup from the semis onwards, so I doubt Masayuki has watched us live for a long-time if ever. There’s no excuse for this idea, other than financial gain.

Explain what is wrong with using the term them in that context.

Them and us, great way to distinguish different groups. I bet you wish it was 1980,all.over again.

Jesus sounds like a Michael Jackson interlude during a live rendition of "Earthsong".

When you've put all the violins away, remember that the poor are also in places like Thailand too. They are football fans too. Just like us. Just because they are unfortunate enough not to be born in Leicester doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed some of the live stuff in their lives.

Yeah....

This bloke needs to have a day off.

I hear Hong Kong is nice this time of year. And they love their football.

I lived their for 17 years, september is better and yes they love their football.

Why should we just take the games abroad to China, Thailand, New Zealand etc? Why not take them to our supporters who live in Scotland, in London, in Switzerland (I'm sure Alex would love that), in East Anglia, in the South West? I don't know how many of them get to see live games, and they are already supporters. Why should they miss out?

Eh?? Where are you reading these things?? I type one thing and people keep quoting something completely different back at me.

Let me try it:

So are you claiming that the owners have achieved nothing and should go back home now? I don't agree with your view.

Martin George was the man who decided to spend millions on re-building a brand new stand onto a clearly failing and crumbling Filbert Street. A ridiculous business decision that even the muppets on the apprentice wouldn't have contemplated.

Anyone who has ever bought one ticket for a City game has done more for the club than Martin George has.

I really don't care how many people support Leicester outside the country, to be honest and I'm certainly not willing to throw away tradition and values to gain a few supporters abroad.

But that aside we don't need to play league games outside of England to "raise the profile of the club" and if your thinking we'll be able to launch some sort of Champions League qualification bid of the sales of a few shirts in Asia your sadly mistaken. We'll always be behind the bigger clubs and playing outside of England wont change that.

Leicester has a capital L.

I’ve no idea. Start a campaign to get games played in Great Yarmouth if you feel strongly about it.

Where did I say that they've achieved nothing and should go home? YOU said that. I said they had achieved nothing that Martin George hadn't achieved, meaning promotion to the Premier League. You went on about being a yoyo club, we've been promoted before so in that respect the owners haven't achieved success beyond anything before. I hope they do, I hope we can win an FA Cup, and finish in the top six in time, maybe have a European run in the UEFA Cup.

As I said in that post you replied to, I like the owners and think they've run the club well, how that means I want them to pack up and go home I'm not quite sure.

Clearly wasn't meant like that was it, as any level headed human being not looking for an excuse to be over politically correct would know.

What George spent on the Carling Stand was 10% of what the Thai's spent on Sven Goran Eriksson's two seasons in charge, who do you thnik got better value for money?

But what a ridiculous thing to say, that man brought Brian Little and Martin O'Neill to this football club, show some respect.

There we go, I knew their must be some reason for this utterly ridiculous view.

I don't feel strongly about it, the only thing I feel strongly about is that all Leicester City home games (barring damage to the ground or the surrounding area) should be played at Leicester City's home ground. When I see a fixture list I expect every home match to be played at Filbert Way. I also don't see why, if we are moving games around, that fans in other areas of the UK shouldn't be catered for as well as fans in other continents.

Maybe we should do the correct thing and leave home matches in Leicester?

I didn't realise Leicester banned Thais from attending.
