BigMicky Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 You said there are people in Asia more passionate about Leicester than me. You cannot prove that statement. You are therefore making assumptions - something you criticised me for and you are therefore showing double standards - something you've criticised everyone in this thread for. If the game moving on is taking clubs away from their local cities then it's something I've absolutely no interest in being a part of. No Dan that's not double standards. Keep trying though.
Crinklyfox Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 They said that about a wooden wheel. I'm not against change as it's a constant in our lives. Thing is there are changes that move us forward in the right direction and those that don't. I just happen to think that this isn't the right direction.
Dan Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 So you want Leicester to stagnate do you? Or do you dream of winning the prem or an FA cup? We won't win anything by opting out. If Leicester as well as other Premier League teams agree to sell out even further and play 'home' games in Bangkok and New York then I couldn't care less what 'Leicester' win.
Fox Ulike Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Just because it’s about money doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. The Premier League is global and we are lucky to be able to watch the best players in the World because of the money that is brought into our clubs by Asian and American markets. It’s hypocritical for City fans to accept the success that Thai money has bankrolled, but to begrudge our Thai supporters the chance to see ONE game a season live. Incidentally, yes the “39th game” is a rubbish idea. Unworkable. But, each Premier League team playing one ‘home’ and one ‘away’ game per season abroad could eliminate any unfairness. The NFL do it and the NBA already do it.

You bang on about selling out all the time but all you do is moan on a forum. At what level of selling out will stop you from going? It won't, if they play 1 or even 2 games abroad a season you will still be going home and away for the remainder.
Fox Ulike Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 So long as the owners pay for the flight and ticket for all season ticket holders they can play a game where ever they want. Plus Fox Club members (Silver) should be entitled to one free ladyboy. No it isn't. Because........?
C-man Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Man United have quite a few fans in London I hear, why don't they play a home game at Wembley to be fair to those fans? We have a few fans in Australia. Do they deserve a game there too in addition to the one for our fans in Thailand? Does the one fan in Uzbekistan deserve a game in Tashkent? Anyone even a little bit in support of it needs their heading checking in my opinion.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 I don't understand how anyone can support the idea of moving league matches abroad, it's such a terrible idea. "What about ex-pats?" - that's up to them to worry about. If you decide to move away from the country then one of the drawbacks is you won't be attending lives matches unless you travel further. No one made you move away. "Stop being greedy and share" - any "EPL" fans are welcome to attend "EPL" games no matter where they're from, but they'll have to make extra allowances. I can also guarantee you that no one born in China of Chinese descent 50 years ago supported Leicester City. Or had even heard of Leicester City. That's just ridiculous. There would have been absolutely zero coverage of us. Surely part of the charm that overseas audiences like about watching our Premier League games is the historical grounds and local fanbases with all the passion that would definitely be missing if games were hosted elsewhere? I'm also not having the argument of "overseas people put money into the game so we should take the game overseas" - how about keep your money, and we'll keep our game then? The lack of overseas funding would also in turn cause lower pay for players and in turn, likely lower ticket costs.

If we started playing games abroad I think that would be the final straw. Because........? The Thai owners bought an English club that plays in England. Are you claiming without them there would be no Leicester City? How on earth does people from Thailand buying Leicester City equate to Leicester fans in Thailand deserving to watch us live in their country? If they want to watch us live then I've got an idea, get on a plane and get over here for a game. They're more than welcome to.

Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 The FA cup has been broadcast to Asia for decades. Oi, Lee Peng, quiet now.
Guest MattP Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Please enlighten me on your vast knowledge of overseas support. Ahh are you naive as well... Bless No idea why I'm replying but spent quite a bit of time in China and no one had heard of us. Even in Bangkok airport despite having a tiny section of a shop dedicated to us you couldn't even get a City match on TV. Whose voice are you using to read BigMicky's posts in? I'm using Jack Whitehall's voice, it makes a lot more sense that way. Brian Blessed.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Yeah I've been Hong Kong as well Most of them can't even pronounce Leicester. Infact most Spaniards can't pronounce Leicester
Corky Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 I'd quite like to see a Serie A game, hopefully they'll move one to Upton Park soon. Maybe even bring an Ashes Test from Perth to Chelmsford so I can get there on a train instead of flying across the world. This idea would distort the competition (10 sides play 18 games in their home ground, 10 play all 19 in their home ground), and if people want to watch a live Premier League game they know where to find it. Stick to the pre-season tours, that brings in a heap of cash and no-one cares either here or abroad what happens in those matches.

BigMicky Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Yeah I've been Hong Kong as well Most of them can't even pronounce Leicester. Infact most Spaniards can't pronounce Leicester Wow the term "them" has been used, its 2014...

That's irrelevant though as it means we lose superstars like Mohamed Diame and Marouane Fellaini to La Liga ! ! !
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Again a very basic view. Of course it had moved on. Football hasn't moved on it's changed for the worse. And it's been changing for the worse for years. What your backing is a further extension of that change for the worse, a world where the important people in football don't matter, the rich get rich and poor get poorer the big clubs get bigger and the small clubs get smaller, the change of football from a sport to a franchise. Any proper football fan, from the terraces at Gigg Lane to the Westfalenstadion would be heavily against this, by backing it you're just proving you are not one.
Dan Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Wow the term "them" has been used, its 2014... Jesus Christ
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Wow the term "them" has been used, its 2014... Explain what is wrong with using the term them in that context.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Jesus Christ Yeah.... This bloke needs to have a day off. I hear Hong Kong is nice this time of year. And they love their football.

If they want to watch us live then I've got an idea, get on a plane and get over here for a game. They're more than welcome to. Clearly I'm not claiming that. If I was, I would probably have used those exact words in my previous past. The Thais bought LCFC, and invested £££ in it with the intention of making it “Thailand’s Team”. So thanks very much to the Thais. Cheers. Thailand has helped us to achieve success beyond the means of a traditional East Midlands yoyo team. BUT, now they want to actually take part and watch the team like the rest of us can. And your attitude is “screw you - get on a plane Tojo.”
Raj Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Most leicester people cant prononounce Leicester....i bet they struggle spelling it!
