You need to finish one point above 18th we're currently a win away from that, I know it doesn't seem great atm but it can all change quite easily.

I've never seen a premier league promoted side that isn't considered one of the worst three in the league.

 

 

The difference is, those sides had philosophies, which were either pretty and effective (swansea), or simply effective (stoke).

 

 

4-4-2, based around one striker running around for 90 minutes, aimlessly and pointlessly, hoping that the opposition will just 'hand us the ball', isn't going to win you games at this level.

 

 

 

We need to go down, retain our players who we know have quality and build not only a side, but a philosophy. That includes retaining the manager.

Burnley on paper don't have the quality we have, but they do have organisation and play to their strengths.  We don't do/have either.

From a neutral(ish) point of view I thought you did quite well in patches today. There been too much emphasis on how poor Villa are, but they're not, most premier league teams have those one or two players that can make the difference.

Good post. And again shows what numpties some of our own fans are when they claim that we are 'miles better' than the teams around us. I think you hit the nail on the head. We dont have ANY players who can 'make the difference'. If we did have, they would be doing. They aren't. And we are starting to become cut adrift. I can't believe Pearson went 4-4-2 again today. That's eight goals shipped in three games.

First goal we gifted them, second Hutton could have took a shit and still got his shot off unchallenged.

But there's a matter of expectation too. We are still right behind the team, we lost QPR, and whilst disappointed, we are still behind Dyche and the player, applauding them off in every game. We believe in them and what they're trying to do.

This team is pretty much Championship standard.

 

Your going to get the odd good performance from the likes of Simpson, Morgan, King, Cambiasso James, Mahrez, Ulloa & Vardy especially, but don't expect any consistency from them.

 

The rest are a poor bunch of players who are not good enough for this league.
