Guest ttfn Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 How many more times has Mahrez got to put a top class left back on his arse with his rolling-the-ball-under-the-studs-drag-back before it games named after him?
ScouseFox Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 first time anyone's ever called aly cissokho a top class left back right there

Ric Flair Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Mahrez's final ball is often exceptional. It's just the strikers barely ever finish it. Off the top of my head he put Vardy in one on one twice v QPR and once v Liverpool. That's three premier league assists if he has the strikers Hazard or Di Maria have in front of him. Not to mention a few from earlier in the season. I thought he had a poor game vs Villa but he still set one up and created a few other openings. Pearson's treatment of him after Swansea won't have helped his confidence either.
ScouseFox Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Not sure he busted it out on Sunday unfortunately. You normally get it once a game 1.45 or so on the vid towards the top of this page is his signature move we're on about isn't it?

tommyh Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 i wish nige would just stop pissing about and play knockaert! its so frustating not seeing him even on the bench. our most creative player has to play end of, nobody in the current team is doing much in an attacking third so i wish nige would just play him. what have we got to lose? iv bit my tongue for ages on this one but this is getting absolutely ridiculous! he would perform better than any of the other midfielders have been so just dont understand what nige is playing at on this one. fair enough if we were playing well and actually getting a point now and again but we arent so surely now its his time. must be so frustrating for him. if we arent carefull he will go in jan and that will be another one that got away. this lads talent is massive, fair enough defensively not too good but throw players in like cambiasso and hammond in their too to accomodate this!!

You cannot be serious. He lost possession 60% of the time in the Championship. What do you think he would do better against better opposition. I do agree he has talent but only sees the game from one angle. He's also not strong enough for the premiership. Maybe the experience of watching from the sidelines will have instilled in him the need to not lose the Ball. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see him prove me wrong but I can't see it happening.
funkyrobot Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 shows you how bad schlupps overall game is that he can have some not bad looking stats yet still be one of the worst players I've ever seen play football at any level, let alone the highest one. You've obviously not watched much football then mate, particularly lcfc games from the pleat, taylor, levein, holloway eras. Schlupp is raw but shows good potential imo.

What do you think he would do better against better opposition. The fact that neither the percentage nor the sentiment is correct is of course totally irrelevant to you Knocky deserves a chance just as much as the other lads who got us promoted. Let's be honest he can't do much worse,
benpicko Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 Finally be able to stop moaning about James's free kicks if Knockaert comes back
Clever Fox Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 Sentiment never won anything, Show me a manager who picks players on sentiment and It's certain he's a loser. I like Knocky. He has good technical skill on the ball. But he has to learn to protect it when in possession. He loses it too often and to easily. Strangely the one position I think he could fill well is behind the front two. slipping others in and using his tight control inside the box. A bit like the roll Wes Houlihan plays for Norwich.

But he always loses possession, so that role aint for him?

You know, when Knockaert played for EA Guingamp he was positioned up front most of the time. Playing as a second striker or behind the front two would not be an unusual role for him; that's assuming the data on Transfermarkt here is accurate: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-knockaert/leistungsdaten/spieler/149237/plus/?saison=2011

I know i cant say he definatley would perform better than the others but isnt it worth trying surely, how could things go any worse? he must be chewing at the bit to get on the pitch whilst in the stands watching us play with hardly any attacking threat. surely its his time!

The stats don't really back you up, considering game time his return wasn't great compared to others. Knockaert 36 starts, 6 as sub 5 goals and 5 assists all season. Mahrez 12 starts, 7 as sub 3 goals and 4 assists Schlupp (Premier) 10 starts, 2 as sub 2 goals and 1 assist Yes, it can get worse actually. He could create or score nothing.
lgfualol Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Mahrez is good at assits Would have more with a top striker
