Alf Bentley Posted 14 October 2015 Posted 14 October 2015 Newsnight reporter......Sue Lloyd Roberts...shame.. Sorry to hear about this one. Clearly, a very brave woman who took all sorts of risks to expose goings-on in some dangerous situations. Must have led a very interesting and personally rewarding life, though. I remember her all the way back to the 70s, when she was a foxy young ITN reporter in her 20s and I was a hormone-addled teenager. I always found her well-spoken tones a bit of a turn-on - just checked her Wiki...Cheltenham Ladies College & Oxford! One day you're with the underground, taking the lid off things. Next day you're underground, having had the lid put on you.
Rocket-Ron Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 What a team he put together at Everton. Only 69 RIP
Brenfox Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Wow that's a real shame. Fantastic manager for Everton.
Alf Bentley Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Michael Meacher, veteran Labour MP and former minister dating back to the 70s: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34592381 Seemed a decent, genuine bloke - leftish but pragmatic with the idealism. Interesting byelection in prospect now.... One day you're at the dispatch box, next day you're being dispatched in a box.
Guest MattP Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Sad, not my favourite MP for obvious reasons and I think his blind eye caused a lot of problems in Oldham in the late 90's (sure his was the seat the BNP got their highest ever election result in) but he was certainly a man of principle and someone who stood for what he believed in. A very safe Labour seat but the percentage of what they and UKIP get will be very interesting.

Jimothy Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Kirsty Howard, famous for her fundraising after being born with a backward heart has died aged 20. Think she was mascot at the infamous Greece match in 2001 after befriending Beckham.

Jimothy Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 Urgh I hate that I'm good at this game. 3/5 now for me. I'm shit at this game. I picked Clive James, he looked certain to go this year, and now he's apparently starting to get a bit better!
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 Smuts I'm using your picks next year in my local in the cash game on this, 3/5 is a hell of an effort.
Jimothy Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 Has anyone looked into how those three died? And if Smuts happened to be in the area at the time?
General Smuts Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 I win this every year and it's frankly getting a little suspicious
