"Lucky" or "Unlucky"

You don't half talk some rubbish Grewks

We were not "Lucky" Hull were not "Unlucky"

The didnt take their chances, we did. Simple as.

Free kick was not good enough.

I talk rubbish? All I did was quote what you said.

1. You said the definition of luck is "a purposeless, unpredictable and uncontrollable force that shapes events favorably or unfavorably for an individual, group or cause"

2. You then said that Hull's poor finishing was 'Completely in their own control'.

Conclusion - If luck is an uncontrollable force, and the fact we did not concede was poor finishing, which as Hull were 'completely in their own control' then we got lucky.

After the torrid run of late do some people seriously give a fook whether we "finally" got a bit of luck in order to get an incredibly valuable 3 points

Jesus who cares, we won end of. Move on

You've explained how we were lucky yes as the outcome of a hull forward having a clear shot on our goal would be exactly that. As I said, dictionary definition.

It just means their forward was sh!t and bottled it.

That's not luck.

A better player would have put it away. Does that mean we were lucky to not be playing against a better player? No, the fixture was against Hull and their squad.

No luck involved.

We're really just arguing about semantics in this thread. Really, who cares?

I do, I hate this "it was fine margins", " we were unlucky" rubbish. Better teams take their chances, make referees take decisions, and win game.

Today we were better. We took our chance and scored. They didn't. That's not luck, that's capitalising on opportunity.

Are you saying we're lucky they don't have better players then?

No, we were playing Hull with the players they have in there squad. That's not luck. Otherwise there would be a random draw of all players across the league each week to form a team.

That would be luck.

Using the definition above "unpredictable and uncontrollable force that shapes events favorably or unfavorably for an individual, group or cause". You could interpret that who Hull buy is uncontrollable, and the fact he bought a load of old tosh shaped events favorably for us, as it meant then didn't have a good striker.

Anyway, I don't give a shit if someone says luck or unlucky. What I do give a shit about it people saying we weren't unlucky against Spurs, we were just shit. But then saying we were lucky today.

Luck is a load of shit, it's all chance. If a piss easy chance is missed someone may consider it "unlucky" or "Lucky" due to the fact the chances are normally higher that the ball would end up in the back of the net.

The squad was already purchased before the match, so there is a control as to who they could play. That limits the randomness, and therefore the 'luck'. We know the formations they can play, and their strengths and weakness. It isn't random, and can be predicted.

What I'd wish was that people just stopped over analysing things so much that they feel the need to delve into fecking semantics

some people are very idiot!!!

Rob Green obviously should have been sent off today.

Burnley got an own goal out of nothing.

Hull could have got fvcked by stupid refereeing decision.

Luck is a massive factor and by and large hasn't been with us for 3 months.

Got to agree .... QPR have had two massive decision wrongly in their favour and we get two against us.
