Our three wins

We got 3 points. They didn't.

Take your original point FleckneyMike, as I have been extremely vocal this year about the amount of gifts we are giving our opponents throughout the season thus far - mainly through our lack of closing down and defending capacities as a whole. Nevertheless, as Stan says - we got three points, they didn't.

Don't matter how you win as long as you do.

Shot stats can be quite misleading though. Our game at QPR had the most shots in a Premier League game apparently, they had 32 shots, but plenty were Barton shooting well over and plenty of skied, hurried finishes never troubling the goalkeepers.

Of those 61 shots, 16 were on target.

In those three matches we've had a total of 27 shots, our opponents have had 61.

Be interesting to see the ratios for the entire season. I suspect a lot of the teams at the bottom have similar stats.

I think it matters a lot, hence why we've only won three. As you say we all acknowledge that we will gift the opposition a chance every game (yesterday it was Schlupp arguing over a throw which let Hernandez through) and that will come often as a result of constant pressure.

Have you got the same statistic for our defeats? Would be interested to see if the ratio is any different.

Against Spurs we had 22 to their 8.

I don't remember Chelsea, Arsenal & Stoke having that many shots. I know we got battered vs QPR but those first 3 I didn't realise were that many.

In terms of shots alone, regardless of on or off target, we've only managed to have more than the other side on 6 occasions. The key thing is though that they are more ruthless with their opportunities. We soak up pressure relatively well given how many shots we've faced and the fact we've not lost a game this season by more than 2 goals.

That latter stat is a bit redundant though - ultimately we've lost a game and the only thing it goes towards determining is goal-difference.

To have only scored 17 goals out of 211 shots needs to be bettered though.
