Burbo17J2 Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Hostel is quite scary, The Conjuring is really scary and its quite new
Guest seanfox778 Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 I always say the original Halloween is my favourite horror, It's just something about the music and the silent, creepy and unstoppable boogieman. I really liked The Conjuring too and I agree that Event Horizon is freaky and disturbing. The original Black Christmas is good too and the John Carpenter film Prince Of Darkness is chilling.

Great films - Bob Clarke did BC if I'm not mistaken? I remember the weird video sleeve for his zombie cheapo Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things in my local shop haunting my dreams as a child.Prince of Darkness is brilliant - awesome script and a great cameo from Alice Cooper. Plus, Egg from Big Trouble in Little China!
foxsake Posted 11 September 2014 Posted 11 September 2014 For those of you who haven't seen Event Horizon, a taste of the terror:
Buzzell Posted 11 September 2014 Posted 11 September 2014 For those of you who haven't seen Event Horizon, a taste of the terror: Wow. Now that singing is what you call scary.
lestajigs Posted 11 September 2014 Posted 11 September 2014 IT, used to scare me like hell when I was a kid, also I saw Blair Witch project at the cinema, which that film at the cinema seems twice as scary then watching it at home
screwitt Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 im thinking the grudge 2 what do you think then best horror film is out of insidious oculus the babadook or the conjouring
Brenfox Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 Loved Insidious & The Conjuring. Sinister is well worth a watch too.

MrSpaM Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 Zombie Flesh Eaters Braindead (If you can call it a horror) Evil Dead 2 (also, if you can call it a horror) Anything Dario Argento directed pre 2000 The original Nightmare On Elm Street
Sampson Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 Suspiria.Or anything of Dario Argento or Mario Bava's films. The Italian horror films were the best. Better than the more famous American or Japanese ones generally.

Or anything of Dario Argento or Mario Bava's films. The Italian horror films were the best. Better than the more famous American or Japanese ones generally. very true

Better than the more famous American or Japanese ones generally. Basically, if it's Italian and made before 1990, you know it's going to be great. 80's Italian horror films were all pretty amazing, purely because they could basically get away with putting anything in them. I think the Dario Argento film Demons is probably my favourite, it's so cheesy and the ending is ridiculous, but it just ticks all the boxes. We were quite lucky back the early nineties. The local video shop used to let us rent any films we liked if we had a note from our parents, and they were well stocked in really obscure foreign horror films that have now become cult classics.
screwitt Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 does anyone remember plan 9 from outer space hahahaha absolutly hilarious they main actor died whilst they were fiming so for the rest of the film the main character walked around holding a cape over his face

Their horror film scene did decline in the 90s but there's still the odd great one since. Dellamorte Dellamore (aka. Cemetery Man) from 1994 is one of my favourite films ever and also Rupert Everett's best ever performance imo.

Nick Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 I'm not big on the genre but I remember watching Wolf Creek a few years ago and thought it was blinding!
screwitt Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 I'm not big on the genre but I remember watching Wolf Creek a few years ago and thought it was blinding! it was so gory imbd gave it a 6.2 /10 what about the ring? whats your opion on that
EnderbyFox Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 If this is MTWG then it's my favourite alias yet
MrSpaM Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 what about the ring? whats your opion on that The Ring (the Japanese version) is a masterpiece as far as cinematography goes, I don't find it particularly scary though. I tend to prefer horror films that go for the gross out factor to physiological ones personally
