Banks Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Was wondering which horror film you consider the best ever?
ozleicester Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Its very time sensitive in my opinion, horror changes over time. My choices The excorcist Friday the 13th
kingcarr21 Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 I was terrified when i watched IT. I was really young though. Nowadays i find horror films aren't actually scary just have moments that make you jump. Always remember watching Signs (Mel Gibson) and a scene with the dog near the beginning making me jump. The Descent also makes you jump in a few places. One of my favourite horror films would be Scream. A classic
Banks Posted 8 September 2014 Author Posted 8 September 2014 Probably depends on what's your favourite sub genre is. From supernatural to the bloody horror films.
separator Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 The Omen The Birds Friday 13th honourable mention to Tremors in the comedy/horror genre
WhatsHisName Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 I love 'Beast in the cellar' - not that I've watched may horror movies
foxsake Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 The Thing 1982,best horror film for me Without doubt! Hard to choose but I would add: Suspiria, The Exorcist & Dawn of the Dead for starters. Plus, Zombi 2 - what a soundtrack! CGI has really taken the joy out of a lot of what horror has to offer these days, the golden age of plasticity seems to have passed. Oh, Evil Dead of course!

Cat Burger Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 The film that scared me most growing up was 'The People Under the Stairs', it's actually a bit shit, but gave me years worth of nightmares from aged 8 onwards.
Phube Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 I don't count Jump scares as any sudden, loud noise will make me jump. Genuinely unsettling, disturbing creepy horror films for me were:
