When will Leicester learn...

Drink water and king only half fit center mids we had. As the game went on they were tiring quickly with no one on bench to replace them (center mids). Missed James and Hammond today. Was hoping for a point today to keep the run going. We now have two weeks to get players back and fit or buy new center mid in.

I sat there staring into space with Nugent and Vardy up front, I can't get excited with that idiot (Nugent) playing.

We got what we deserved starting with them two.

Spot on. This was the real problem today.

They're both garbage and Pearson knows it, hence trying to sign a second striker.

I don't think he does.

As I keep saying i'm a big Pearson fan but he insistance with playing his favourites is starting to grate on me.

If now that we have Kramaric and Ulloa Pearson continues to start Nugent or Vardy then I will have no option but to join the Pearson out brigade. He has to get this right, you cannot stay up if you don't score goals.

All too late I'm afraid!!...

As others have said the fault was with the midfield. Strikers had nothing to feed off and the intended tactic to get Vardy in behind their slow defence would have been effective if we could ever get possession and retain it.

People forget how shite ulloa has been for a fair few weeks in his inability to hold the ball up, poor work rate etc. He needs the ball put on a plate for him to score, something nobody in our team today has the capability to do.

Giving the ball up too easily from our back third with unforced hoofed balls, game after game.

With two particularly bad offenders:

Vs Stoke: *
Hamer -  35 Total Passes. 31 were long balls. 10 Accurate long balls 40% pass accuracy overall (season=36%).

Konchesky - 43 Total passes. 10 Long balls. 3 Accurate long balls. 69% overall pass accuracy.

Total lcfc: 66 Long balls, 44 failed long balls, 41 of the long balls (62%)  were from the above two players alone who gave away possession 28 times (once every three minutes on average between the two of them). Simpson wasn't much better with 6 long balls, only 1 accurate. Wes and Wasyl 5 long balls between them, 1 of them accurate.

I completely agree midfield creativity is a huge problem, but we also need to learn how to pass to our midfield and keep more possession from the get go. Long balls should be reserved for counter attacks and end of game desperation goal seeking. Distribution from back line is not helping us.

FYI Kasper distribution slightly better at 44% but compare to keepers like Llorris and Courtois who sit around 55-60% accurate distribution.

We only had two fit central midfielders available and King and Drinkwater failed in supporting the strikers, really. The most amount of attacks came through our flanks (initiated by Schlupp and Knockaert), which says a lot.

You can criticize Nugent and Vardy as much as you want to, but be at least fair and take King and Drinkwater into the equation and be equally as tough on them.

We are now well past Christmas and still bottom. With a difficult run coming up after the FA cup game.

A few weeks ago, there was an article put onto this forum about City 'being ok'..it essentially said that we had lost a few but were showing signs of being a good side that would learn the division and would be ultimately safe.

Many on here praised the article, thinking it to be correct.

Well, to my mind, if we are to learn how to stay in this division, it's got to now be done very quickly. I'm afraid a game like yesterday's starts to reek a little of people generally believing that we are better than we are.

It's not over by any means, but so far, this season has not been as good as any of us hoped I don't suspect. Being bottom at Christmas is one thing. You still give yourself a shout. But if we remain bottom by mid to end February, it's probably just about over.

They aren't his favourites, they are players you don't like or rate.

You've got one part right and for good reason, as for the rest, if you say so, think it's a case of agreeing to disagree on this one.

The difficult run we face up to end February is:

Man U, Arsenal, Everton away; and

Chelsea and (a resurgent) Palace at home.

Frankly it'll be a miracle if we aren't bottom after that lot. Followed up by Man City away before the first of the 'easier' games in the run-in.

If we are to make it out of the bottom three, it's more likely to be late in the season.

Being forced to play a midfield of King and (a half-fit?) Drinkwater yesterday was always likely to be too lightweight against Stoke. Missed Hammond/James. Bit of quality from Bojan settled it.

Having watched all the home games thus far this season I do not see the value in starting a strike partnership that is so out of it's depth at this level in a game that would have taken us off the foot of the table.

Two weeks into the transfer window and we started with our championship team from last season bar a keeper who was at Charlton and a right back from QPR, I was not surprised we got nothing out of that game.

Stoke just upped a gear in the second half and once they got the goal they ran the game out.

If we do by some miracle stay up it will be by the skin of our teeth.

So let's get some more ****ing players in, And let them bed in for the end of the season to save us.. if he relies on what we have now, without signing a midfielder or a defender, as far as I'm concerned nigel can **** off...

I can let him off for the learning curve he has endured, but for christ sake nige you only have to have half a brain to realise what we need. Get it done.

But Morgan could be considered a favourite, as could Schmeichel. They are picked (when fit) virtually every game and they'll divide the supporters on their abilities. Some will want Moore in, some will want Hamer.

Until yesterday, Nugent was in a decent spell of form, so it wasn't a total shock he was selected. The fact is, managers will want players who have done well for them before. Nugent played a part over three seasons, being top scorer in all, Pearson will rate him highly. As he will with Morgan, Konchesky and others. Pearson hasn't been afraid to drop Nugent, Vardy, De Laet this season, in fact I've seen many arguments that he doesn't know his best side.

He just has a different view to some supporters, nothing to do with favouritism.
