This. Simpson was raped all game. I notice that he likes to tuck in and make the back 4 very narrow and expects Knocky to deal with the opposition winger. Often this seems to allow the opposition to double up on Knocky before he comes out to deal with it. I think he's been solid the past few weeks, but he was gash today.

I can barely remember Moses beating him one on one. Moses only came into the game when he started drifting inside. Simpson had a good game, and RE him defending narrowly.. I don't think that's his decision, surely NP and co's tactics. Our back 4 normally defend the width of our 18 yard box and our wingers normally follow any over lap. That's how we've defended every time we've played with wingers all season.

Hamer 5

Simpson 6

Morgan 5

Was 5

Konch 5

Knockaert 7

King 3

Drinkwater 5

Schlupp 6.5

Nugent 4

Vardy 5

Do people believe me now that Simpson is appallingly shite? Or is his fanboy brigade still out in force?

I'd rather play Bernie at rightback. At least he would go in for a tackle.

Hamer - 3 - Kicking is embarrassing

Simpson - 2 - Absolutely appalling performance. Very slow to get tight to his man and shocking on the ball. De Laet got loads of stick for better performances.

Wasilewski - 6 - Good at defending but terrible on the ball

Morgan - 5 - Shaky as fvck. Looked like the Morgan that used to play for Forest, not the one that's been at us for 3 years. No leadership qualities whatsoever - he's captain because he's an experienced centre back, no other reason.

Konchesky - 4 - Just so wasteful in possession. Summed up the stupidity of our team with some of his brain dead passes.

Knockaert - 7 - Our best player today. Deserves a go in the attacking midfielder position since we've got no one else to play there and the central midfield is way too inconsistent.

Drinkwater - 4.5- Didn't get going at all and his head dropped in the second half.

King - 4 - Pants

Schlupp - 3 - Once again showed that he's a terrible footballer. Did the hard part by beating men 2 or 3 times then fvcked it up with an atrocious cross or decision.

Nugent - 2- He was coming into a bit of form despite not being able to hit a barn door in general but he was back to normal Nugent today. Just looked out of his depth.

Vardy - 4 - More of a threat than Nugent but still did very little.

Subs

Kramaric - 6.5 - Very little to go on but he did ok. It's not like we gave him a scrap of a chance let alone a decent one.

Ulloa - 6.5 - Did his best to win some headers but again very little to feed on.

Lawrence - 1 - Plays like a child, when we need men. Clearly not even close to being ready for the first team.

Simpson did not put in a 6 performance today, knocky helped him out continually and the help wasn't reciprocated when we went forward. He's been dependable previously but today he was poor and his distribution was sub-konch standard.

This

Knockhaert left him exposed too much, being undisciplined and out of position too much.

Defending behind knocky is not for the faint hearted.

Simpson was defending right in front of where I sit second half, I don't know where you sit but honestly mate he was appalling.

He was slow getting out, at times nowhere to be seen, and Moses was pushing him about left right & centre, he was getting constantly bullied by Moses's physical presence in the second half especially, plus he kept backing off all the time.

I thought Simpson has been fairly solid, but today was the first time he made me nervous.

Pearson - 6, Stay

Team:
Hamer - 6 (Great save from Walters, distribution was poor but could do nothing about the goal)

Simpson - 6 (Pretty standard game)
Wasilewski - 5 (Lucky not to be sent off for clattering Begovic)

Morgan - 6 (Didn't really put a foot wrong)
Konchesky - 6 (Lucky Crouch's volley didn't go in)

Knockaert - 6 (Could have done better with his effort that went straight at Begovic)
Drinkwater - 6 (Doesn't look fully fit)

King - 6 (Standard game)

Schlupp - 7 (Our best threat going forward, one of the few players not to cross straight to Begovic)

Nugent - 6 (Didn't get much service)
Vardy - 6 (Unlucky not to score with his backheel)

SUBS:
Kramaric - 6 (Didn't get much service but had a good effort on goal)
Lawrence - 5 (Didn't create much)

Ulloa - 6 (Not a lot of service)

Stoke - Below average (They were there for the taking. Two poor teams today and we lost)

Andre Marriner - Average (Didn't do much wrong, could have sent Wasilewski off for clattering Begovic and should have booked the Stoke player for copycat Wasilewski foul)

if anyone gave Drinkwater and King more than a 2 then they don't know what they're talking about. Similarly with Lawrence, why the **** are we playing him he offers absolutely nothing  lol

I sit in SK1 row KK so he defended first half in front of me too.

Fair enough if that's your opinion. And I can't quite believe how contrasting some peoples opinions are on Simpson today. Anyway suppose people interpret things differently.

And he didn't get bullied by him physically. He was about the only player I can think of that managed to tackle him all game! I haven't watched it back yet, but the as mentioned Moses only had success when drifting off Simpson inside. That was when he created the Arnautovic chance, and bounced off everyone near him.

For me Moses and Bojan were by a long way their best players and Simpson for me took care of his man. Bojan however absolutely destroyed us.

Nugent is a twelve year old kid saying ' look Dad I nearly tackled him, or I nearly passed the ball to a team-mate, or I nearly scored, or I nearly did something good'. Well sorry Nuge, but enough is enough, it is time for you to be released. You are a bit like Andy King 'nearly did well'.

Nuge and King 'The Nearly Men'.

I made three points, Einstein.

4 actually. All wrong. Simpson 'far superior'. Ha ha. It's like you're comparing Gary Neville with John Curtis. Simpson and De Laet are much of a muchness. Simpson's probably more solid, De Laet is much better in possession and I do think we miss his bombing runs down the right hand side.

Moses is a good player and Simpson did ok against him. It was his distribution that was the problem. Hoofed it every single time

Like King on N'Zonzi, Simpson kept bouncing off Moses in the second half, because he wasn't physical enough.

Hamer - 5 , solid and excellent save 2nd half ,but his kicking!!!

Simpson - 5 ,not his biggest fan prefer De Laet

Konchesky - 5 just average and got in a tangle leading up to the goal.

Morgan - 6 solid

Was. - 5 .Let himself down for the goal, let Bojan take his time and turn in our box

Drinkwater - 5 .Did his best but clearly not fit and got overrun and over powered

King - 4 Just Poor

Knocky - 5 Tried but did not offer a lot and probably should have scored with our only real chance

Schlupp - 6 Our biggest threat, not great but better than most

Nugent - 5 Struggled lack of service

Vardy - 4 as above and just looks totally devoid of confidence. Is he covering the ground he did last season?

Kramaric - 4 came on in the middle of a poor display

Lawrence - 3 young lad looks like he is really struggling, strange substitution for me

Ulloa - 4 tried but no service and does not look as sharp as the start of the season.

We got even worse after the substitutions, big Pearson fan but he had a bad day at the office, strange team and strange substitution with Lawrence.Understood he went for pace with Vardy but we could not hold onto the ball.Albrighton not starting had me baffled and the fact we only had 2 central midfielders neither 100% fit really caused most of the problems.
